    Cord with a "box" inline - there is a power supply (aka power conversion electronics) in the box - generally it converts AC power from the wall to DC power for the device. For 3D printers it is usually 24V DC.

    Many slicers have options for printing items separately. To do that they need to know the size of the print head so they can space things out far enough to avoid a crash.

    I've had it for 4 months, but I mainly only use it for ABS/ASA
    The prusa may print the other materials.
    I'm really looking forward to the speed and quality comparison against the Prusa XL, especially when it comes to the multi-colored area. I think the XL will be able to show its advantages because the extruder change is faster than the Bambu system and less waste he will probably produce it too

    I got the P1S with AMU. It would be nice to have the bigger screen, but really I don't use it. Not sure what the Lidar does for you. I would like the better camera for sure. I've probably put 15 KG through the P1S in a few weeks and it's a workhorse. The only problems I have is when I let the textured print sheet get too oily which causes adhesion problems. Don't use the "PLA" sheet, just the textured ones. There's a reason Bambu doesn't send the flat ones with the P1S, just a two-sided textured. I still use my QIDI and it's a good printer, but the Bambu definitely rules the roost in my house. XL5? That's like five P1S with AMS. Sexy beast but just too pricey.

    • @tada3dprinting
      @tada3dprinting  Před 8 měsíci

      Yeah I was wondering what the difference really is between the P1S and the Carbon. Each uses the same AMS right? I keep getting an error code that I'm using the wrong build sheet. That's weird that it printed those one at a time. That's an option, but default is print by layer. The best way to do the glue imo, is to put some on then spray a lil IPA on it and smear it around with a paper towel. And seriously, all I do to clean it is stick it under my bathroom tap under pure hot water and it just comes right off with one wipe. I'm high on maintenance and I'll clean and lube at least once a month. And Idk if I just got lucky but in 1300 hrs the only problem I've had is it got plugged once. (knock on wood)
    And with the warning to clean those rods it probably detected the thick grease friction as it comes new (at least mine did). It will also warn you of any system that might not be running right, basically a trouble shooter. It warned me once that It detected something with my bed wiring harness and it turned out there was one wire hanging and would have got cut, or sheered if it wasn't for the warning. Great machine. But you probably know most of this stuff anyway.😁

      I originally was going to get the AMS Mini but I'm impatient so I got the Carbon.
      I was wary of having to print through the cloud, partly because of spotty internet. But it's been sooo easy to use. Also having the camera already set up that I can record timelapse and check on prints from anywhere is a huge plus for me. I don't really see a difference security/privacy wise between the camera and cloud of this printer and using wyze, gopro etc cameras. But I do see a huge difference in ease of setting up, not having cords everywhere, having battery and lighting issues etc.

      @@tada3dprinting if you run a business and are not giving away your stl files for free. You could be with using the cloud. I’m not gonna get into all the ramifications behind using a third-party proprietary cloud application, but let’s just say that the intellectual rights of products designed by others is not seen the same way as they are here in the United States. Not to mention that they’ve had a problem in the past with printers turning on by themselves and printing past queued while not being attended is scary enough They say they fix this issue, but it was cloud related. You should really question anything that is left on and able to start itself plus controls cameras, microphones, and heating elements. This should be a red flag for and IoT device. Also anytime you give a device regardless of what it is, your Network name and password… that device now has it stored in its memory or somewhere within the device. And as to what is done with that information, could it be sent somewhere without your knowledge? easily. All IOT devices should be secured on their own VLAN, guest network and monitored daily for any kind of network chatter that is unnecessary. It would be impossible for every IOT device to be checked thoroughly for security vulnerabilities especially those with close source proprietary hardware. A lot of people may read this and think he’s paranoid or something to that effect. It is true that most companies have good intentions, but at some point you will run into those that don’t. For example you can look up power cables that people use to charge their phones and you’ll find out that many of them have chip sets in the very end of them that are sending scripts to your phone to give them full access to your phone and all its functionality … all from a little tiny script that you didn’t even know was installed. that same thing could be said for chips that are on circuit boards, and this thing has Wi-Fi connection. This applies to all devices. Once again, this is why open source is still the best and safest route to take. Because there are some very intelligent individuals out there going through every little bit of code or chips on any board and finding out who designed them and what their main purposes is. (Takes off tinfoil hat.)
      To put that all aside, I have seen some prints that the carbon X1 has printed and most do look very nice. But I’ve also seen more reviewers put videos out that show that the printer is not able to keep up with printing at such a high speed without either artifacts, or the finish of the filament changing to a matte finish. There’s a few more videos popping up showing owners of that printer actually going in and slowing the printer down so the layers adhere correctly and that the finish comes out as intended. Remember to keep an extremely large poop shoot bucket nearby and I would recommend looking into fine-tuning the extrusion rates when changing colors you’ll be able to save a lot more on filament doing so.
      Good luck. Can’t wait to see what you think about that printer. Get ear plugs… LoL. 😂

      The Bambu mini with AMS launched just days after I finished putting together my MMU3. I had been having constant loading errors on the MMU3. Also, I have been waiting on my 5 toolhead XL with no update. I ordered the MMU3 for the MK4 and who knows when that will ship.
      I wanted to add another multi color printer but the thought of spending 30 hours upgrading my MK3S and putting the MMU3 together just doesn't appeal to me right now.
      The Bambu AMS was in stock and delivered 2 days after ordering. I spent about an hour unboxing and getting it set up and now I'm printing.
      Doesn't mean I won't eagerly wait for MMU3 for the MK4 and the 5 toolhead XL. But I want to try something new while I'm waiting. Thanks!

      Are you thinking that Bambu is telling people to use Glue Sticks cuz they make a profit off of all the glue sticks that are sold in the world, or perhaps do their engineers (who have done an amazing job at designing such a fast, accurate printer) perhaps know something about the design of their plates, and the composition of their filaments that they've learned something and perhaps are motivated by their user's success. When you go against a mfg's instructions and things do not work well, rarely will you associate your doing things 'your way' with the problem. People like to blame others as the person always 'know what they are doing'.
