Okay she is underrated I agree but her name, and her voice...has ALWAYS been around. Go to any Bengali Durga Puja function or any Indian wedding across North India and her catchy hits like Hari Om Hari or Koi Yahaan Nache Nache are still played repeatedly and people groove to them in full vigour. Usha Uthup was always considered India's first rockstar..... She didn't become famous because she wasn't cut out for film music...but the few hits she had, she achieved longevity and legend status from those alone.
She is true rockstar.. I remember my old school days... Wherever you go any function.. They definitely play her songs because at that time we know that she is the only one who perform like rockstar.
