  • We take a look at this smol suit of armor. I wish other companies would give us figures of historically accurate armor sets. Although maybe it's too niche?

Thank you for this review! I got into knights ever since I first played the original Dark Souls on Xbox 360 back in 2015, and ever since I've been wanting to find a semi-affordable, high-quality historical knight figure!
Since there is no word on the development of the Dark Souls III Black Knight Figma release, all I've had to satiate my fix is the Mythic Legions Knight (Silver) Legion Builder, which (as you demonstrated with your Mythic Legions variant) is a bit bigger than 6" scale and ran me $40.
On BBTS, this figure is in-stock for $80, which I may jump on since I love the sallet helmet from the old days (and the Royal Swordsman Helm in Dark Souls II), but due to others' QC complaints, and your points on the awkward Revoltech joint coordination, I'm reconsidering.
Also, *FANTASTIC WORK* on your Lothric Knight!!! The cloth looks exquisite, and the Hollowed face is spot-on! I really wish Dark Souls had more official figures, but for now all we have are huge, expensive statues and a MIA Black Knight Figma in the works.

I own the version with the barded horse. As much as I love the historical accuracy of these two, and I have watched several videos of that Revoltech model and other Revoltech figures, I was a bit overwhelmed. I knew I had to carefully examine each joint and be prepared to warm them up if they did not want to move. But after I had everything moving - oh boy. It was a nightmare to keep everything together. After a bit of playing with the horsie (I broke it stand post during posing), I made the knight ride his horse, printed a stronger stand, forced the horse to stand evenly on its four legs - and that was it. Haven't ever touched them again. It's a shame, honestly. Now that I look at them...hmmm...a playing session might be on order.

Late to the party here but I will say that this armour is 1:1 based off the “Armour for Horse and Man” at the Wallace Collection in the UK, a prestigious museum dedicated specifically to historic arms and armour. The actual armour is actually fairly small for what you’d expect, so I suppose that explains why a true 1/12 scale translation would be on the smaller end. Kaiyodo has done larger Revoltech figures, so I think this really is just a matter of scale.

I've had 4 of them. 2 silver, one bronze, and one red, exclusive from wonderfest. I gave one away asa gift, and then sold remaining 3 for merely 45 britsh pounds (having paid 260 in total), as I was moving out to another country, literary no more than 2 weeks after having receied them and paid all the customs. What pissed me off, is that almost all of them had some issues. In one ankle joint would come apart. One had sword with terrible flashing from the mold, one had improperly molded hand, the other had paint splodge near one of the straps on his leg (which looked as if it was a bit of brown playdoh), and the last had glue frosting on the black part underneath the helmet, in the visor section. Overall, I loved the way they were engineered, but somehow I do not regret selling them, even at such a heavy loss. They are incredible, but I just cant get past revoltech joints. I don't like them, and thats about it. For me the adventure with Kayiodo stuff is over for good. OTher than that, if you don't mind the joints, the figures are great. Well, if it wasnt for spotty QC. However its usually nothing big, but still, if you are as pedantic about collecting, as I am, theres a chance something may piss you off.

Wow, that's unfortunate. These are a good example of a product that I was obsessing over and couldn't wait to have until I got it. And there were just some things that threw me off or were off putting. I'm right there with ya. Mine hasn't been touched on my shelf in weeks.

I've been looking for good knight figures to use as a base for a custom, and this looks to be in the right vein of things, at least. I'm trying to do a custom of my Warden from For Honor, so the armor on this figure is all wrong. The big sword could work, but I'll have to keep my eye out for some other knight styled figures with closer looking armor.

From my knowledge being tall was unusual back then. Think Edward the IV was 6.2ft and was classed as really tall like someone being 7ft of today. Could be good half inch taller though. Tis a little small looking seeing him next to the other figures at the end.

Zweihänder is german for 2 hander so you basially said it twice and a bastard sword isnt a full 2 hander its a hand a half its inbetween 1 and 2 handers hence the name bastard because it doesnt belong in the other category
