The Greens are calling for cost-of-living relief measures in the 2024 budget

Greens Treasury spokesperson Robert Simms MLC, during the second reading debate on the Supply Bill 2024, took the opportunity to outline the cost-of-living relief measures the Greens would like the Government to action in its budget. These include: capping rents in line with CPI, minimum rental standards, increasing the stock of public housing, establishing a public builder, scrapping the materials and services charges and other fees, employing more GPs, scrapping ambulance call-out fees, reducing public transport fares, and expanding the public transport network, including in regional areas.
