Pretty much after defeating Sygna Suit Cyrus and his Darkrai in Nightmare Realm, Cyrus re-welcomes his Galactic admins (which he abandoned when he bonded with Darkrai to trap everyone in an eternal nightmare or in his case, "his ideal world") and asks that Lucas (the male protag of Sinnoh) treat the Dialga which he previously treated like shit, with love and care, which could imply that Cyrus may be an emotionless bastard from the outside but deep down it's not exactly 100% the truth.
Again, not sure if it helps because Masters is in no way canon to the mainline games but it's probably the most likely explanation to why he has a friend evo Pokemon like Crobat so yea

If you look past the silliniess of the singing, and read the lyrics of this song as a speech, it perfectly represents cyrus as the antoginist in pearl/diamond/Platinum. This is amazing!
