- Yamaha rs7000 is really good for live techno music beats. It was broken for a while but kebe in Eindhoven fixed it. To celebrate it’s back I made this quick video making this techno banger. Man what do I love this electronic music machine!

i had this playing late at night. i started walking around the house with vicks on my lip and asking family if they, "...we're selling?!"
Not sure if I understand you?
@@Expectaz i use to party/rave back in the day and putting vicks under your nose was a thing (to some, not me), but if you were looking for molly, you ask random people if they were selling. this music took me back to those days. :) thank you for that
@@calvin808 I used to party a lot too! All kinds of genres. It was all a great time. Love to btring back some memories in the form of music :) Thx a lot mate!
hahahah
I just believe we called it a little different lol 😂
I miss mine. That and the MS2000 were such a good combo.
They shure are! Want to go and jam with it now I see it so that’s a good sign right? 😝
@@ExpectazAZ can go back home and stop fucking with my life
More like this please
Thx!! Will definitely make some more when the rearrangement of the studio is done ☺️
Love techno music and thanks for this video and for the amazing energy!!
Thanks a lot Michael! So happy to play with this machine again
Dont miss my mc 505 like child..dont explain too painful 😂😂🙌 keep em voming..keep that vibe alive warrior 😉😎
got mine back from repair shop a few weeks ago. life is good.
Also leaking capacitors?
These machines are awesome!! Good track 😁👍🏻!!
Yeah it’s real fun playing with this machine!
That was awesome, thanks for the video and song!
caidicus Thanks Caid!! See you changed your name 😎
Here you are !!! nice techno !
You really deserve a big like !!!
Thx Gerry!!
Really enjoyed that. Brought back memories of 2003. Looks like you're having a lot of fun.
Yeah this machine is a hella lot of fun! Got it around 2003 as well. Going like crazy 😜
@@Expectaz Have you tried the yamaha RMX1? It is clunky but rather effective at remixing MIDI files mangled beyond...lol
Banging RKid!
Yeah the RM1X is almost the same as this machine :)
You seem very at home with it, great techno. Loving those hi hats
Thx!! Had this thing for almost 20 years, so I got a little muscle memory it seems 😎
Love the Rs and the jx305
Great machines indeed!
Excellent !
Thx a lot Stan!
Great little jam! ⚡️🎚🎛🔊
Thx a kot!,
Nice demo. Must dig mine out again. Great fun!
Yeah! I did the same and came to the conclusion it didn’t boot. Luckily it has been fixed and it’s great fun indeed
Direct from berlin club!
Would love to play berghain, tresor or one of the others! 😝
Oh yea! I still love my RS7000. I plan on starting to utilize it big time once again I get my move completed soon here. I dig the video!
Thx!! Was playing and this just got created. Real fun machine. Works different than modern day machines
Just bought myself an rs7000. Love seeing the jx305 in the bottom. Have been wanting one of those for ages. Such a cool (groove)synth
Nice!! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do! The jx-305 is also a classic in that way. All nineties revival :)
O heck yeah!! Sounds like TRUTH!!
thx!! don’t know truth. Do you have a link as I’m very curious!
bangin! this box is legend
It’s definitely a lot of fun!
What a beast! track is great too!🙌🙌🙌
SketchieRecordsUK Love this machine! The immediacy of the knobs and functions is great. 90s and 00s vibes instantly
@@Expectaz It shows! 👍
Still going strong!!
Insane! 👊🏽👊🏽
Thanks Tamer! Do you also jam? 😊
This is a banger🤘
Thx!! This machine is so inspiring
Wow, heavy ... highly infectious !!! :-)
Thanks a lot!!!
Yeah...great sound and machine😀🎶
I love it!! Was my first hardware groovebox :)
@@Expectaz Very cool...my first was the Grovebox Roland 303- Ich habe sie mir vor ca 1,5 Jahren gekauft und bin voll happy. 😀🎶
Yes the MC303!! Love that one! As you can see in this video I have the jx-305 which is the keyboard version of the mc-505. Great fun these grooveboxes!!
This is rudee, love it!
Love to play with this amazing machine!
Love it
Thx!!!
Great power sound out of this box, I had rm1x in past, it was great fun
Yeah the RM1X is also a very nice machine. For what I’ve heard very similar. Instant bangers
@@Expectaz it was pain to program, so I've sold it. think the only difference is RS7000 is also a sampler. There was no groove box from Yamaha for a while now, they need to hurry up haha
Aleks Zvon Would love to see one!
Got mine in 2001 when it came out with optical in/out card ... Instant "idea factory" with 1001 options. The five black "scene buttons" are gold for live action. Sold it ... I need this again:)
It's an amazing machine! I don't use it as often as I would like but every now and then I have these amazing sessions
TOP
Thanks!!
Very cool that you get such a rich sound from four tracks only!
@@Expectaz thanks man!
Lovely example for the RS7000, that machine is in mint condition too!
Thx Ian! Yeah I bought it new some 20 years ago lol. Only problem were leaking capacitors so some acid went through the mainboard. Some synth guy told me it was beyond fixing, but I found a really good company which did it!! I was always taking great care of my my machines and still do!
@@Expectaz Nothing worse bud, glad to hear you caught it in time, it’s a classic. Onboard preset backup batteries are a killer too BTW.
Sick tunage..!!
Thanks Maddog! Love this old beast and how inspiring it is. You have one too?
@@Expectaz No mate....am lucky enough to have been able to borrow one from a mate....!! XXX Maddog
That’s even better!! Would live to some tunes!
To think I bought one of these for $350 aud 10 yrs ago and sold it off...worst decision. Oh well...still got my maxed out SU700 🙏
Ths SU700 is also a really great machine. I sold that one and regret it to this day too
Hmm. This makes me want to pull mine out of storage. Lol
It’s definitely a lot of fun!
I always wanted one. A few years ago there was a guy in a town nearby who sold it but he asked over €700. In fact, the ad kept being renewed for almost 7 years I think.
It’s a great machine! My repair costs weren’t cheap either but am really happy. I think €700 is fair though especially when the expansion card is installed
@@Expectaz It IS a great machine, zero doubts about that. There was neither cards nor service in the one I was talking about. The thing that's been bothering me in the past few years is battery replacement. Always make sure you check how easy this operation is, if batteries are available, etc. Unfortunately, many machines, incl. Yamaha's, required you to go crazy and spend hours removing screws and boards and even solder the battery which is hidden behind LOTS of stuff. I skipped several purchases because of this. Thos ebatteries don't last forever and you may need to replace things from 10 years ago, let alone 30 ;)
Totally true! I bought this one new so I’m happy it still runs :)
OMG! I have ths RS7000 and the JX305 too! haha!
Great old school machines with lots of sounds from the nineties 😚
how do you copy a section so that any changes dont effect the other one? I copy section A, to section B, make some changes to B so I can have some variation, but it changes A as well. how to stop this from happening?
I think you would need to create a new pattern but am not 100% sure. Most of the times I just create separate patterns and jam with those
Wow! This was the very first piece of hardware that I ever bought!
Yeah for me it was the second!! It was broken because there were leaking capacitors and the acid went through the main board. Luckily it was possible to fix! Totally in love with this machine still
What stand are you using? I need more tiers!
This is the jaspers 5D 150B 😚
I want one, prices ain't too bad, need a friend for my novation circuit 1🎉
They work very well together! The RS has so many options and the Circuit the nova synth. Amazing stuff
This will be, locked forever at 303 upvotes.
And if not it should go to 7000 right? 😝
Heerlijk stukje!!! Misschien ep uitbrengen...
Dank je!! Was ff lekker knallen zo :)
What problems they having? I have the 505 and am thinking to get one of those seems like even standalone can do amazing dark techno.
There were capacitors that leaked acid which caused it to fail. In the end the repair wasn’t too much but they’re known for this. It’s definitely a wild machine which does a lot of dark stuff indeed
@@Expectaz at the end of the day having used both. Would you put it above the akai force? Im torn apart between em as the force seems a very powerful beast for this type of sounds and much much more groovebox oriented vs the mpc
I would then recommend the Force. It’s 20 years of evolution and has much more effects. The RS7000 is great for jamming and fun but limited for today’s standards
Got it and the JX-305.. best hardware sequencers
Don’t use the JX305 a lot anymore. Do you sequence on it?
Expectaz yup, that’s pretty much all I do with it, same with my Rm1x. Just got the RS7K which I might use the sampler and a few sounds.. but it’ll be mainly for sequencing as well. Editing factory patterns and mixing with my user work is like pop art:)
That’s amazing!! Not taken the time to really understand the jx sequencer. Love the RS7000 though. Especially for sequencing!
😂😂 had mc505 I sold to get force...and yep I was never gonna make proper my own tracks n sounds...but boy it was also made for techno😂😂wishing you much happy giggerling when playing with this...looks aewsome awesome fun lol
If you look closely then you see the keyboard version of the mc505, the jx305 below :) definitely going to do some bangers!
I had borrowed a mc303 back in the 90's and it was a lot of fun, I seen a mc505 for sale recently was tempting but though it's probably a nightmare to program right?
Avrilcadabra It’s not that hard :) If you can get one for cheap why not!
@@avrilcadabra I found it real fun...but..for me couldnt program...just was beyond me...but its super powerful I wish I could have vrasped properly...its made for techno...that and korg emx1
Yeeesss man i have this f...ing machine long time ago.
I’ve bought it when it came out new, some 20 years ago lol. Real fun machine
@@Expectaz yes was my first realy hardwaresequenzer. 20 years ago
Same here, next to a mc303 this was way more powerful! Now see that I developed real muscle memory with this beast
p[rolly it heheh
Hallo ich bin von Mystery of soundlabor Schweiz und habe auch 2 RS 7000 geie teile gute musik gruss Mädmäx 81
Sehr tolle machines!!
i wish i never got rid of that
It’s a great machine to jam with and lots of fun indeed!
Sounds great. Sounds like your just riding the filter on the one track here yeah?
If you look closely you can see that I switch between tracks and ride the filter on multiple tracks 😝
@@Expectaz Riding filters + drums = happiness lol
@@Expectaz
How do you filter multiple tracks at same time?
Giovanni Debiase You have a button to select multiple tracks at once. Then the knob twist is applied to all those tracks.
@@Expectaz Im still reading the manual not had mine long. do you mean the track select button?
Great Techno! I Love my to 😄 See the price goes Up but i dont sell it. They RS7000 haves a own Charakter and Sound acustica.
Drominader GaminG They sure have their own sound. Totally love this machine. Do you also make techno?
@@Expectaz i would not say only Techno. I make Old SchoolFreeTekno and Techno. Like Acid Tek
But i think Old school FreeTekno is very similar to Techno with the sound's and so. I would say im a New School "Kid" on a old School Trip but Im not really a Kid ^^ i think you knowing what i mean about that!
But we can Connect when you will.
Drominader GaminG Always nice to connect! I’m not really a kid either anymore lol 😀
Ok how can i contact you? CZcams is not the best platform for contacting :)
Maybe facebook? If you search for expectaz you’ll find me :)
Have one since 2000. It now is all flaky because of the famous cap plague of the era. Need to break out my tools and do some surface mount soldering .
Yeah mine went to the repair shop too as I’m not too good with soldering, capacitors were leaking as i understood
Local pawn shop has this for $350. Sure they’ll take $275. Worth it?
Definitely! They go for more than 400 euro here. Ask if the expansion board is installed. These are rare
@@Expectaz Thats a good tip, thanks!
The machine itself is lots of fun too :)
make a techno tutorial please
The midi delay did a lot in this pattern. And the V-dist effect
I can buy rs7000, is it good buy in 2020?
It’s a fun machine. Some sounds are a little dated but most are usable. If you can get it for a fair price why not!
@@Expectaz Thanks for fast response, i am looking for my first groovebox, i cant decide between deluge, mc707, akai force, op1 and maybe maschine...idk if rs7000 would be good as my only machine nowadays?
It is possible but I think I would go for the Force in that case. At least it’s my favorite all in one groovebox/production studio. If you want only 1 device I think it’s the best
I see that Yamaha Rs7000 Is as good as Grooveboxes from Roland 😂
You can definitely do a lot with it!
Like original MC 909
It’s from the same era.. I think the RS came out before the 909 but has similar functions
I dropped a box off at a repair shop in Great Falls montana in 2003. It is not on his bench yet, already threw away the other speaker. Wondering how long that fool intends to keep it. Nearest synth repair in Montana? Maybe Oregon.....Colorado?
I’m from the Netherlands so don’t know where :) Hope you get yours back soon!
@@Expectaz Walmart was a 650 mile round trip, farther across than Nl I suspect. Took about 8-14 hours if shopping...
Damn that’s a long time! In that time you can drive our little country up and down 4 times or so lol
@@Expectaz I know, always amazes me how fast Europe can be crossed. I mean travel lol well, mostly.
@@TheSynthZone Yeah but we do have a lot of history here 😉
more
Going to work on that!!
Wanna buy another? 😂
No, one is enough lol 😝
Lol....DAWs can't do that ..it's all about timing.
The clock of these machines is tight! Is that what you mean or just me having fun and pressing buttons? 😉
