This isn't just for exclusive pumpers! Nursing moms should pump until empty too after nursing if they don't want to risk a mini supply fluctuation or want to increase. Thankyou for teaching pump until empty!!!!!
I always watch your videos while pumping. You are such an inspiration!
Thank you for your videos.
Thank you for watching them! You guys are my inspiration so I'm glad I could be that to you & part of your daily ritual
I’m glad you said this because being a new mom is stressful, so many different opinions!!!
Another great video. ❤ I've really felt like giving up the last few days. I've have an extremely busy schedule and have fallen off track but as soon as I watch your videos or read a few posts from those groups I am motivated to keep pushing through. Once again, thank you for the awesome info and I'm looking forward to your next vid!
Aw momma, I'm so happy to help
Thank you so much for all your videos. I’ve been struggling with pumping and all the info I’ve been given is vague and not helpful, so I appreciate you! Thank you
So happy to help momma!💕
There isnt enough information on exclusively pumping and even lactation support workers are not as experienced since exclusively pumping and just pumping while also nursing are two different things so to find you here with all these very helpful tips and information is an answered prayer! Thank you so much for all these videos!!!
I totally agree! Each way of breastfeeding requires it’s own education and understanding. Exclusively pumping is becoming more popular so I’m hoping it means it starts to get the educational attention it deserves! Happy to help! 💕💕
Yes! EP is still breastfeeding! I love your videos, so happy I found you.
My lactation specialist told me to only pump 10 mins every time. I had such a low supply and was considering just stopping and moving on to formula because I was so defeated. This video gives me hope!!! Thank you for this video and EP playlist. I am motivated to keep pumping!
Ah I’m sorry to hear that! Unfortunately I was first told kind of the same thing. It’s frustrating but I’m glad my series could help! You got this momma!💕
You have single handedly saved my breastfeeding journey! I am so glad I stumbled across your channel, it is by far the most helpful and has been the first one to genuinly help me and save my milk supply! I just finished a 50 minute pumping session (i used to just stop at half an hour) but I saw that streams were still coming out, especially as I continued to massage my boobs and now I have a full bottle of milk which I never normally get! Just had a question too - after the streams stop coming (I want to build my milk supply) I am pumping for the extra five minutes, but do I need to continue the breast compressions or can I chill now and just let the pump keep going for those few minutes past empty?
Thank you so much for this series 💜
Happy to help momma💕💕
Love the video.. never thought I am not emptying after every pumping sessions... tried your trick to hand press and see any string of milk coming.. works..
Awesome to hear!!💕
These exclusive pumping videos, as well as your pump reviews, have been a real LIFESAVER as I'm not able to nurse my premature son Caleb yet. I even decided recently due to your review as well as others' videos to get a Spectra S2 and am now a proud owner of one. I think I freaked out a little soon though because QUITE a few people, including a nurse at LeBonhuer Children's, the nurse last night AND a nursing student whose friend also had her baby early, have mentioned that having a preemie essentially stunts your bodies milk supply. You get your milk back with diligent pumping until you get your full real supply around your original due date. Until then your body is just really confused with you. Like, "WTF?! I think we're still pregnant! No more milk for you now!" lmfao My bf was worried for me so he called a nurse hotline last night and she said the same thing. Lol He even woke up and called in the middle of the night.
Also, I'm currently only doing 10 minutes/double pumping with the spectra to get used to it and have to put it sorta low suction because excessive pumping after a day or so, even at low settings, makes me hurt. Been pumping 2 days straight and already I'm sensitive and that's even with having it set mainly in let down mode at around 38 to 54 with suction no more than 3 usually. Good thing my consultant was nice enough to bring me lanolin last meeting. Lol I was SO sensitive from WEEKS of no cream using a Hygeia loan pump from my health dept.
Also got a DIY pumping bra thing goin on because funds are low. Cut holes in an old underwire bra but you gotta do what you gotta do lmfao
All that being said keep it up with the great content and product reviews Alia! Your well thought out informative videos are invaluable to many of us! :)
+Narc Goggles Aw I'm so happy to help!! Congrats on your new little man! They are right but it's also not impossible to establish a good supply when you're a mom of a premature baby. A strict schedule, good pump, emptying every session and skin to skin will help the most! That's very common to have sore nips, especially in the first weeks. Try lubing the tunnels of your flange with coconut or olive oil. That will make it more comfortable! I would power pump only once every couple of days so you don't get a painful oversupply and avoid trauma to the nips. The lanolin will help a lot with soreness after pumping! Having your flange sized is crucial too! It sounds like you're doing an awesome job!! Keep up the hard work momma💕
I love your eping videos! Thanks so much for sharing! My daughter is 8M old, and I reduced my number of pumps too much/time pumping, so my supply started dropping. Will definitely take your advice to bring my supply back up. Could you do a video on exclusive pumping motivation? I've been doing this since day one, and although I only have four months left until her first birthday, it's hard to not just give in and switch to formula.
Thank you for the feedback momma! Congrats on 8 months, that's amazing! I hope your supply bounces back, I know that can be stressful): I do not have one up right now but I get that question so often it's at the top of my list! Just know you're doing awesome and even though she can't tell you, your daughter appreciates your hard work(: You're helping sustain her life and that's pretty amazing! Try joining some of the support groups I link in the drop box of my EP videos, they help so much!
As soon as I stopped pumping until empty (or pumping beyond empty) my supply dropped. Sometimes it only takes me 12 minutes, but in the morning for example, I need to pump for like 20.
I have come across your channel recently and am glad I did. I love your videos. You are well informative with great presentation. I have a question about EPing. I don't know what to do really. I have a 10 week old boy. We tried breastfeeding on the breasts and it just has been difficult. He has been getting formula. My goal is to give him breast milk. So I started pumping. I was using Medela Freestyle at first but was not getting anything. I am currently renting Medela Symphony. All I get is drops. Maybe a teaspoon at best. I feel like I am too late because I haven't been nursing. I don't know what will help establish my supply. Will power pumping help? I try to pump every 3 hours but it hard cause my LO gets fussy. He likes being held. I am looking for any suggestions.
I'm so happy to help momma! Hang in there, you're doing good! The Freestyle may not have been strong enough to express milk and your supply may have taken a hit because of it :/ But keep at the every 3 hours around the clock schedule! Make sure to pump for 5-10 minutes after empty (even if you don't get anything) and power pump when you get a chance. You go this momma!!
Thank god i seen your video
💜💜💜
Would love a video to know what to look for when empty.
Working on it momma!
GirlyLove me to
ep video on how you clean bottles and parts
Got it!
what is the medication you mentioned? i pump at work, but I'm taking too long. i get my last let down around 32mins. i use the lansinoh warm pad things, but I just can't speed up the process.
Lecithin! Just not if you have a history of depression though. Massaging and some boob shaking can help too!
Should I pump until empty at 2 weeks postpartum. I’m nervous my body is figuring out how much milk to make still and I will end up with more milk than I will be able to pump out especially when I start work again
If you’re exclusively pumping, yes!
So if you’re empty will it just stop coming out??? Or is it a certain feeling?
It should be slow rolling beads or no milk at all, along with your breasts feeling soft & squishy!
@@MommaAlia thank you!!💗 I have 25 more days and I’m tryna soak up as much information as possible😭
how long does it take you to single pump? I single pump each session. it takes me 45-50mins to empty.
It typically takes me around 40 minutes give or take
How many times a day I need pumping my breast? I do 6 times a day and only produce 2oz per day. How many times I need do pumping to increase my production of milk? Tanks!
If you're exclusively pumping, it's less about number of pumps and more about how often you should pump. You want to pump every 2-3 hours during the day and 3-4 hours at night. It will take a couple weeks of keeping that schedule to see an increase. And make sure you don't have any other factors that can cause low milk supply. I talk a bit about those in my "how to boost your milk supply video"!
So for that one child you would pump for 40 minutes at a time? 😩 how would you find the time??
It was about 30 minutes each side so one hour all together. I made it work!
How do we know when we are empty?
I have a video one that in my exclusively pumping series!
Can we nurse and pump alternatively?
You can do whatever you're comfortable with and have the capacity for momma! It's not all or nothing. Whatever is the best fit for your family
It's taken me 3 hours
I empty usually more than an hour....is there any way to go faster. I feel like I'm pumping all day.
That’s rough momma, hang in there! There’s lots of tricks you can try to stimulate a let down. A warm compress, massage, vibration, looking at pictures/videos of your little one, using the massage or stimulation mode in your pump are good places to start!!
Its bottle feeding with breastmilk
That’s the definition of exclusively pumping, it’s also a form of breastfeeding.
Damn it tAkes me forever to empty 😭
I’m sorry! I know it’s frustrating!
