Please be careful forming an oversupply! I started trying to after watching a bunch of freezer stash videos and then when my baby stopped wanting to latch correctly because she was getting a fire hose of milk with every let down, i felt terrible. I did more research and found out not only can creating a huge oversupply cause forceful milk ejection that can lead to issues, it can cause a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance that upsets their tummies and causes growth issues. This isn’t the case for everyone, but I would hate for it to happen to another mama and baby!

So glad i found this! Im currently 2.5 months into my pumping journey and was more focused on trying to lose weight and it shot my supply because i wasnt eating or drinking enough :( listening to you explain your routine and saying its okay to eat gave me the courage to pick up the snacks! My husband tells me at the end of the day baby comes first! Thank you ❤

I will never forget the intensity of hunger and thirst I had after I had my firstborn and I was pumping for her. It really is SO important. You need to sustain yourself and create food for another living being! I say no diets. Just fill yourself with electrolytes and nourishing foods like healthy proteins and fats.

Here watching this again! I commented a few months ago. I am now 33 weeks pregnant. I am planning to pump at least 100 oz a day and store/deep freeze enough milk within the 1st 6 months to feed baby for an entire year. I can't find much information about any potential issues with doing this. I heard you say you did this for your first son because when you got pregnant your 1st son was about 6 months old. I am hesitant to mention my plan to a doctor or peiactrician.

Just a heads up, if your capacity doesn’t allow for this, absolutely nothing you can do will get you to oversupply. Capacity is entirely out of your control, and if you’re not already at a capacity that allows for this, you’re SOL.

Yep, it might not work for everyone, but these are some tips to try even to increase supply … not necessarily to even create over supply. Breastfeeding might not work for everyone.

Just like breasts adjust to longer time between pumping, they also adjust to baby having a little amount and then not having to be pumped out. I’ve nursed 5 kids for 4-5 years each, my first kid I leaked a bunch for a few months, second kid I leaked for about 2 weeks, third kid and so forth I never leaked at all. Your body knows how to adjust, just like you talked about at the end. And flange size has nothing to do with breast size, it’s about the size of your nipples and doesn’t relate to being big breasted or small breasted.

I bag it, store it and freeze it! I was diagnosed with cancer last year when baby Quinn was 4 months old so I am beyond grateful I had so much stored. I had to abruptly stop breastfeeding, but because I had so much stored I was able to give him breast milk until he was 10 months old. It was a blessing. When I was overproducing with Trace before that, I had so much stored that I sold it to a milk bank for baby's in the NICU. It was a long process to qualify for that though. e

I eventually had to create bigger gaps and pump less. Initially, it made me feel engorged but after 2-3 days of changing my pumping sessions, my body adjusted. I went from pumping 7 times a day (which included nighttime), down to 6, down to 4 (hardest jump I made and totally necessary so I could stop getting up at night and it allowed me to space out my day more). It took some time to do these modifications tho! Didn’t happen overnight.
