  • My UNICO MVSX (SNK) (www.snkmvsx.com/) and Base arrived yesterday. I spent late last night setting them up. There were two big issues that you need to watch out for! Check out the video for details, as well as this post on Armchair Arcade: armchairarcade.com/perspectiv...

    To fix the loose bat tops remove the 3 screws on the left and right side of the unit top two and middle front near the control panel, then remove the ribbon cable directly in the middle toward the monitor when you slide the panel out. Hand tighten the bat top while using a flat head screw driver in the groove of the stick from underneath.

      I don’t know how to do any of that , take the screws out, from the side , when I don’t even see screws, then what’s a control panel...., and remove a ribbon cable?.... hand tighten the bat top? ..in the groove.....oh man I just want to play mine without all these issues .... is that too much to ask? Are we sure Arcade 1up didn’t make this....and what if I’m 6’ tall, I can’t even see the whole screen? And how come that screen is shrunk with that black border, isn’t the monitor just 17inches to start, now it’s smaller with a black bezel? Why are there 6 buttons too, i thought Neo geo had 4 buttons? Oh yeah, one other thing, it looks pretty narrow and the controls are close, I don’t know about the rest of you , but when I play with friend, I LOVE when we are bumping elbows all the time. Makes for a great experience.

    I just got mine this week. I can say that they made the new screws for connecting the top to the base easier to find and the instructions that came with the base calls out that different screws should be used. That being said, it took me awhile to find those instructions and I started off using the instructions on the website which still recommends using the other screws.
    I think I heard the speakers have been improved, but I have not done a thorough comparison to videos and what I have.
    The loose bat tops was not something I noticed until I watched this video. I just checked and they were a little loose. I tightened them but I also plan on replacing them and the buttons. I am too used to square gates for my stick and the circular/octagonal gates were giving me a little trouble (Specifically, the jumping forward or backward motions). However, that is definitely a personal preference thing and while I could probably adjust, I would rather not for now.

  • @ThomasGrillo
    @ThomasGrillo Před 3 lety

    Hello Bill! :) I've got one of these on the way. Thanks for mentioning the little hardware baggie being sort of hidden. Regarding audio, I would recommend you get a 25 watt amp, and a couple of 4" speakers. Mount the speakers inside the marquee bay. Next thing I'd do is grab some 2x4s, and a half inch plate. make a plinth to boost the height of the cabinet, so the marquee won't block your sight line, to the monitor. The 2x4s should the perfect height for the unit. By the way, I got a Legends Ultimate, and am not happy with a nasty audio video desync issue. Sound is following action by half a second, and the UI text is hard to read. Have to bend over the controls with a magnifier to read the fonts. Killing my back. LOL. Thanks for the video.

      @@BillLoguidiceAuthor I sent two requests for support. Both were erejected, as though I'd interrupted their lunch break, or something. It's definitely doing it. And, it's doing it on all games. Also, there's a bad memory leak which I also reported. It's happening in the console section, Atari, Genesis, and others. I'll try a third time, and then, I'll try and post a video showing the problems in action.

  • @cliff7641
    @cliff7641 Před 3 lety +3

    I found it was much easier to attach the top part after removing the rubber feet. It fits so well, I have a feeling that was the way it was supposed to work. You can also slightly unscrew one of the side panels on the bar top portion if it's not quite sliding in, but I think the real issue is the instructions didn't suggest pulling the feet off first. Also, the bottom of the stand is really solid. You can get some good casters or furniture legs to extend the unit's height a little bit. I use 3" locking casters on all my 3/4 scale machines, so I can roll them in and out of the room

    Use plumber's tape to keep the bat tops from spinning around and it won't lock them on permanently if you get the red kind but put a couple extra layers and you can build up like a little post with it that's what I did with my Pac-Man in Mortal Kombat II and they haven't moved since tell about the newer generation cabinets I got the burger time in the NBA Jams and the bat tops or the ball tops don't even spin-off on those cabinets like they attached appropriately

      It's actually a good product overall, though a bit short and narrow. If you see the most recent video, they sent a new top panel to slide the top arcade portion onto. Too late for me now, but at least they sent it. Again, all I really wanted was some type of heads-up not to build the Base without using the Step 5 replacement screws and replacement top panel. That would have saved all the trouble.

    I had the same issue, What you should have did was lay it on top, put the screws in at the bottom, and actually remove the 6 little red covers as well as the ,screws on the bottom of the cabinet what ever side was lop sided and it would have fell in place and then drilled/screwed them back in and problem solved

    • @BillLoguidiceAuthor
      @BillLoguidiceAuthor  Před 3 lety +1

    Sorry to sound like someone nitpicking, Did the people who made this thing not look at the button layout for an MVS cabinet. The red button shouldn't be below the yellow one. It should follow the same as the other three. An why the extra 2 white buttons, And I've been told it's missing, Why would you not have a dip switch setting? The miniature machines from Numskull and Newwave toys have dip switches. Besides those little bothering things for me it doesn't look bad. But I will have to pass.
