I am a drummer and what Kevin was doing would be difficult to do with two hands and two feet. He was doing it with his mouth!
Man I’m sure other people have said it but “Mitch’s voice is... made for music.” sums it up better than any other description imo 👌💯
This is the first song they've done that REALLY tapped into what Matt can do with his voice. That synth sound created between his bass and Kevin's insane beats (the speed of his high hats, holy crap) is probably the best mimic of EDM since Daft Punk - and it could be argued it sounds better. Phenomenal song, and I love that they're going full steam into original work, because they are showing that their stuff is as good - and sometimes better - than the music they cover. The best part of that is it means they have the chance to be around for a long time, if they want to be, because they don't have to rely on other people coming up with big hits to put their spin on (though their spins are among the most fun to watch of their stuff, because I tend to like their arrangements better than the originals).
This is probably one of my favorite songs from them. Made my morning. Matt and Kevin... DAMN.

To me, this song sounds very "SuperFruit". I can totally imagine it being just Mitch and Scott singing it together/to each other. Needless to say, it is amazing though.

I couldn't breathe or speak through this whole music video the first time I watched it!! Kevin was doing friggin trills!! And Mitch!!! Oh, my angel! He even looks like one in those pastel colors! His voice is just HEAVENLY, no matter what range he is singing in. Great reaction, Jessica!

Since this is an album celebrating their first decade together, I see this one as a nod to Superfruit. Scott & Mitch, I’ve seen that room before. Mitch in the rafters! Amazing harmonies! They did say they would be using a lot more studio audio tricks on this album. They are VERY evident on this track. It will be interesting to see how they perform this live whenever we get back to concert performances again. The group is going in a new direction...but that's NOT a bad thing. Every artist needs to evolve. Did you notice how the same bedroom set was used for each member, just differently decorated?
It`s also the same bedroom set they used in the Superfruit - Deny U video.

Hi Jessica, I am new to your channel and just working my way thru your reaction videos. I love your reaction to this song and the others that I have watched recently. This is such a great song and can totally see Mitch and Scott singing it as SuperFruit. I am not a spring chicken but have been listening to them since I first heard Little Drummer Boy in 2014 and have not stopped listening to them since. I have a dtg your age and I have been listening to Pentatonix a lot lately (their music just puts me in a better head space) and I have caught her singing little snippets of there songs every once in awhile. You just can't help it. Their original songs are amazing and their covers, after I hear their version I cannot listen to the original anymore. The arrangements they come up with for all the songs and the videos are just unparalleled. Thanks for all the content you post here and on Instagram.

Everything is wonderful on this recording, but I LOVE the introspective nature of Kirstie’s songs-probably because I’m an introspective composer-jazz pianist (Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, pianists you probably don’t know, are my influences).
Anyway, Kirstie’s music really hits a chord with me...

Mitch can doing autotuning and other 'special effects' with his natural voice. puts all the other singers of today to shame. And the combo of Matt and Kevin just gets better with every song. These folks are to acapella what Stevie Ray Vaughan is to the blues guitar. You listen a couple times and realize that everyone else is just fighting for second place. Period.
