The best thing about Peter Kay is that he doesn't even need to tell a joke to be funny. All he needs to do is tell a story, the Kay Way.

I agree totally. He encapulates the audience and keeps them entetained so easily. Its dead quiet because they are hanging on his every word!
He's shit, it's the same everytime. Phoenix nights is good but his stand up is garbage.

So funny and having spent a bit of time in Liverpool, I would say you would have to have some very big brave balls to do stand-up there, wicked-fast sense of humour. Peter is a national treasure, makes a lot of people laugh just by talking about everyday stuff.
genuinely funny man. he's funny because people can relate to what his act is about. a lot of the things he jokes about during his shows, are things that me and my family do. Jason Manford is another example of this comedy, their acts are quite alike, & both equally amazing :)
I remember that robbery, I thought the get down joke was funny at the time but i dont think he heard me through my balaclava

I met Peter Kay in the Gents toliets at Shannon Airport when I was flying to Liverpool (the plane actually flew I just sat in it) . I think I scared him as he had his little children with him and I was telling him how much I enjoyed his comedy. I loved his book and I hope his Mammy needs a new bungalow soon, so we can see more of his genius.

Im 16 and I find him funny. I missed the old school stuff so I'm glad theres guys like him so hold the beacon. I have a really wide appreciation for all kinds of comedy though. Apart from puns. I hate puns lol. Surreal is my favourite though.

Peter Kay's a natural. All his shows are written, but you would never believe it, watching him. They're almost effortless (I mean that in a good way). If you met him in the street and asked him the time, he'd almost definitely have you corpsed with laughter.
when he did standup the joke about turning the 'big light' on wen you go on holiday. Couldn't believe it cos we call it the big light too lol, its when u relate to people that you really win hearts.

I'm English but live in Cambodia with my Cambodian wife. We went on holiday to England and when we were there we went to Liverpool (where the passport office is) to renew my passport. We took a train there and spent about half an hour walking around before my wife turned to me and said "What language are they speaking?". True story, she literally couldn't tell it was English.
And they couldn't tell she was over the age of 11 either.
