Absolutely love this album! It does everything you want from ensiferum. I've been listening to them since like 2005, i think. They're always fun and catchy and make you want to throw on some chainmail and start a circle pit. Like you said, the best live show experience imaginable. Can't wait til we get live music again 😭
Dylan has become my favourite BangerTV reviewer. He speaks eloquently, has strong knowledge of the industry, and seems like he can be a fair, unbiased critic. My one beef with this review, not Dylan's fault, is the plug for the new Voivod EP at the end. It just reeks of label promotion (like CM paid you guys to say it). There's nothing really new about the EP to look forward to. I could see if it was completely new songs.
Yep it’s a banger, just listened to the whole album last night. There’s a lot of stuff on there, some gothic metal like Amorphis, power metal like Sabaton, a little Finntroll, and some Enslaved for good measure 🤘
I loved the band back in the day, a lot. Their last 4 or 5 albums, idk how many, did very little for me. Might check this out anyway.
That was one of my first metal shows as well. I'd say they were the golden days of folk metal, if there ever was such a thing. Paganfest was still a thing, Eluveitie were hitting their stride, Amon Amarth were still playing to tiny rooms, etc etc.
Only bummer about this tour was the fact Hypocrisy cancelled . :(
I remember Paganfest so fondly it was such and amazing time to be a Folk Metal fan
@@deathmattkiller Paganfest. Ah yes, great times. Got to witness Ensiferum, Turisas, Eluveitie, and TÝR. And then Maiden twice a few days after that.
I miss paganfest so bad. They should do it again with a finntroll ensiferum lineup for next year.

Very different album for them. Enjoyed it, but just did a tier list on the channel today and this one ranks lower for me in the big scheme of things. But then I’ve never been big on the power metal elements that come front and center on this release.
Midsummer Magic is on par with Two of Spades for Ensiferum's most underrated song. Fucking killer.
Dylan is my absolute favourite hands down!

Ensiferum has always been close but never quite there for me. I don’t like how they added western songs on their albums either. Very immersion breaking. This new album sounds like they are recycling riffs too.
