am really digging the new server, and the character caps. baslisk was not an MMO, it was a solo game with other people getting in the way. What makes swg great is the interactions between toons, how we are all dependent on each other. docs, dancers, crafters, image designers, the list goes on. Also the server was dominated by a few people who had been on far too long. I remember some hag literally ran a huge chunck of dantooine, and would flip out on anyone who dared challenge her control. the character caps puts a much needed check on that kind of gameplay. 2 characters is a perfect balance. keep up the great work guys, keep the dream alive!

Good stuff. 900+ connections on Finalizer as I type this. True sense of community right now with only one character logged in.

This was great, I recently started on Finalizer and I’m loving it, the server is full like it was in live and I’m having a great time. These guys deserve alot of love for sure, this has actually encouraged me to donate, use it for server or some cold beers I don’t care, Keep up the good work guys

yeah sadly not many ppl there. would be interesting if the swgemu team would be willing to try their hand on some changes to bring good stuff from the cu to precu.

Any way to make creature handler more useful? I just don’t know why there wasn’t more of an answer to this… everyone knows MCH is massively underpowered compared to ANY other combat profession….they talk about carbineer but not creature handler

In 1.0 is jedi unlocked by village or random skill set? Hopefully skill set. Jedi are supposed to be exiled.

"As intended by original idea creators" ... well that didn't work so well. Just minutes prior they say that pre-CU wasn't the 10 Commandments, wasn't perfect. Blanket statements about solo play is bad and group play is good. What about player preferences? Why is that interdependence deemed Required? When? Always? In all things, at all times? In what degrees? In what circumstances?
Who gets to say that all these dimensions of gameplay, that in a so-called sandbox "that players 'must' fall into these lanes" and you don't get to enjoy as a blanket rule those specific things that make the game sing for you? Another example is the "how many online at a time" going from multiples to the other extreme of 1. Says who? For what tangible, enjoyable, specific outcomes - dont just say rhetorical "interdependency" at the expense of all else and undermining enjoyment in kind, be specific and why that matters specifically in specific situations - and at the wholesale expense of what degrees of player satisfaction and enjoyable gameplay experiences?
There are SO many dimensions of player interdependency in SWG from resources to crafted goods to buffs, to combat experiences, to guild activities and experiences, to knowledge sharing, to grinding support, to other knowledge support, to player cities... that wide segments can and WILL (to say otherwise is a false dilemma) at times of their choosing interact with others. Not all the same way, not at the same time, but when it suits players enjoyably, in the ways it suits them at the time and need, and (emphasis) works overall. If players didn't want to group at certian times and needs, don't force that. If players prefer an alt online in some situations and enjoy, don't block that. The sky will not fall down. It's enjoyed.
Let players enjoy what they enjoy. The interdependencies are native, on many dimensions, and will happen - of course they will. Let players enjoy what they enjoy, and instead, focus on the 600,000 lb gorilla in the room that sealed the fate of SWG seemingly forever - as it still is a gaping maw of an issue - the lack of CONTENT. Specifically GCW content missing, always has been missing... and unfortunately, seemingly given the lack of dialogue even today on the subject will always be missing? ... GCW for ALL players, not just the 25% Koster says were interested in PvP. Games' players have rabidly consumed endgame content like raids, that are rabidly consumed for a reason. That is NOT news. We all know that absence of content was crippling to SWG. Right? We all know that. So instead of addressing it, we're focusing on gating things that people enjoy about the existing game? ?? ???
It appears that group think is engaged, and there's not a rigorous (tested and debated beyond soundbites of "interdependency") 50,000 ft level discussion to identify, storm, and collaborate on "what matters", "goals", and "principles"?
I'm not here to criticize, folks did an amazing job to get this game to this state that exceeds what SOE did in "everything actually working at the same time". But we're here on a plateau, this giant enormous FFS plateau where SOE was back then, still here looking around the same plateau, facing the same monumental gap - in Content.
Content. Content. Content. Content. Content. Content.
Particularly for majority PvE GCW "want to play" players... and somehow today, we're not even talking about it as an imperative, a desperate need. That if delivered, will drive growth, thriving server(s), etc. that can eliminate many or all of the "sky is falling", "player interdependency," false dilemmas we're still hearing to send people down the wrong path of thought.
Suggest people get in a room, real talking, not text chat, and do some vigorous debate while avoiding false dilemmas and often wholly meritless rhetorical 'sky will fall' statements, and deal with specifics, specific features, specific goals, and specific plans... and then vette them through feedback loops with the community for input and expansion of ideas.
As a sidebar, also would like to see a lift in respect and dignity for diversity of thought. Nobody is credibly saying anyone are "idiots" and I keep hearing that as if shutting down dissenting input, or alternative or representative input, by painting the latter as derisive name callers and troublemakers. If any are saying "idiots", well, that's not the same as people speaking up with valid input, and shouldn't be conflated - perhaps intentionally as a means to shut down debate and favor a bias or preference that doesn't serve players at large.
