Nuno is one of the best guitarists in the last 40 years.
He did a duet of this with Steven Tyler for the Nobel Peace awards. It is amazing!
@@carolyncappitelli1460 I'll check it out, thanks!
That's an understatement.
You must see the Jack Black/Jimmy Fallon version.
Absolutely!
All I think of now when I see this
100p. Jack has chops that no one, including himself wants to acknowledge as a rare gift from the heavens.
YES
This is the edited single version, the full version goes an extra couple of minutes and has a really pretty ending to it.
I had no idea who they were in 1990. Raising my kids in the 80's and 90's music and MTV kept me sane. All I know is I was blown away by this beautiful song and was in total awe of their looks and hair whenever they came up on MTV Thanks for reacting.
Their song âHole Heartedâ is another amazing song. Same album. Definitely check it out!
Can I strongly suggest watching the Jack Black/Jimmy Kimmel take off of this song - so good â€ïž. Also watch Extremeâs set from the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert - they killed it âïž. Keep up the good work! Lesa đŠđș
Beautiful song done clean and simple
This song was so popular and came on the radio so much that people got tickets for their concert. A lot of people who had no idea of any of their other songs ended up being so surprised by the metal band that came on before them and ended up walking out. Don't buy tickets for a band You only know 1 song and then get upset because the band is totally different than that 1 song.
Itâs their best song in my opinion đŻđ„đ„
Gary, the lead singer here, was also the 3rd lead singer of Van Halen (album Van Halen 3) after Sammy Hager was fired from the Band.
Really?? I never knew. What a gorgeous voice and just gorgeous. đ
I saw van Halen when he was singing with them
Unfortunately, he only lasted a few years with Van Halen and recorded only one album. It ended up being their weakest selling album of Van Halen's career.
One of my favourite Extreme songs - loved this.
World peace would happen if this was played loud enough around the world.
When this song came out I loved it the first time I heard it so I bought the album. To my surprise every other song on the album was polar opposite from this one. I knew nothing of the band before and I remember being completely caught off guard.
Wow.. youâre in for a treat â€.. this is stunning
LOVE THIS SONG!!! THANKS, SALVO!! Love their song: Get The Funk Out!! Oughta give that one a try! Most of their stuff was different to this one...but, I SO LOVE THIS ONE!!! The soft guitar and their WONDERFUL VOICES: JUST SO GOOD!!
Nothing better than Gary and Nuno!!!! The live versions are just as good!!!! Try "Whole Hearted" next from them!
I *love* âWhole-Heartedâ! âGet the Funk Outâ is straight fire, too đ„đ„
One of my favorite songs.
Oh man, what a rock ballad...right in the top ten
I still get chills hearing this.
Great reaction to this amazing song!! Guitarist, Nuno Bettencourt, is one of the best guitarists on the planet!! And Gary Cherone is a great singer/songwriter and frontman. This song is one of their biggest hits, even tho itâs in such contrast to their what you might expect from a âmetalâ band! Their harmonies, and this songâs lyrics, made it a huge hit worldwide when it was released in 1990. As a die-hard Queen fan, I found Extreme from their involvement in Freddie Mercuryâs tribute concert (1992), when they did a 20 minute mash-up of many of Queenâs biggest hits - somewhat against the wishes of Brian May. They were amazing, and Iâve followed their music since!! Thank-you for sharingâŠ
best guitarists...I mean, huh?
A good follow up from Extreme is Get The Funk Out. Some other great ones are Hole Hearted (It's acoustic, but extremely energetic), Rest in Peace, and Decadence Dance.
That's an awesome song!!
Love this one!!! Takes me back in time.
You should check out the Jack Black and Jimmy Fallon video of this one. Itâs an exact copy with great singing!
I love this song, one of my favorite ballads!!â€â€â€
They were a heavy metal band with modest success that recorded this one easy listening hit. Their only top 40 hit that crossed over onto pop charts
You gotta check out Hole Hearted from them, you won't be able to sit still, I promise you. Awesome reaction. Probably the softest song they have.
SalvoG ... on the Wikipedia page you were showing on-screen for the band, in the second paragraph you were reading, you skipped right over the sentence that says: "The album [Pornograffitti] featured the acoustic single "More Than Words," which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States." đ
Their tune "Other Side of the Rainbow" starts acoustic and transitions to electric. Highly recommended!
I absolutely loved the whole pornograffiti album. They sing this with the harmonies, where I first kissed you is almost Sanatra-eque, hole hearted, and they do rock.
You must watch the cover of this song done by Jack Black and Jimmy Fallon. So, so good!
I love this song so much. Thanks you, Sara â€
GOTTA listen to their hit Hole in My Heart!
I loved this song back in the day. Still love it now.
On repeat in the 90's.
Get the funk out by Extreme is one of the most fun and groovy reactions you can do !
Check out Extreme's GET THE FUNK OUT. đ
You always pick ones I love, I think youâve seen my stack of cassettes.
This is , I think, the only song I listened to of this band in all these years.
Beautiful Love song!!! Really showing their talent vocally!!!
Hey Anthony just wanted to say Iâve noticed youâve been following my channel for making time and I wanted to say thank you !
Freshman year high school for meâŠlove this song
Ok well, 90's and h.s. vibes just entered my mind. I absolutely loved this song! I even learned it in sign language. Lol
One of my favorites!â€
The voice judges covered this too, worth a listen.. John Legend and Kelly Clarkson â€
Kelly sang a song about a girl putting out to show love to her man? Seems a little off for her considering her divorce
â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€
â€Great 90s song. It was all over the radio and MTV.....a nice side of Extreme. And YES you need to check out Jack Black & Jimmy Fallon versionđIt is EPIC. More of an homage than a parody.
Love their song Hole Hearted
Beautful
Everly Brothers. You'll hear this and other songs with beautiful harmonies.
My daughter loved this song when she wasn't much older than a baby.
Definitely a 90's anthem, absolute classic and everyone learning guitar had to give this one a try (I think some still do đ).
Check out their recent song 'Rise' and you'll see the rock side of the band...and Nuno shredding like the guitar hero that he is! đđ€
My youngest loves "When I First Kissed You" from this album which demonstrates why they named themselves Extreme.
You should dive right into Jack Black & Jimmy Fallonâs FUN cover of this while itâs fresh in mind.
i really love your reactions. keep on keeping on
Thank you â€
I've always thought it's kind of crazy that two of their biggest songs were acoustic. "Hole Hearted" is still my favorite out of some pretty darn good stuff.
This song is unlike their other work. They went after a mass audience hit and got one. I was shocked when I discovered this song was by them. Sorta like Metallicaâ s ballad. Not representative.
Bettancourt is in the top five guitarists playing today, imo. And this certainly does not show off his immense skills. But it is a sweet song.
This was a great album. One of thy few I can listen to all the songs on
Such a great song! Brings me back to hr high. đ„°
One of my top three favorite bands, along with Rush and the Beatles. Chicago is up there also. Iâm from the area though and my grandparents were from the same area as Nuno so I guess we had a little more exposure. Gary is a consummate performer with amazing range and power, and Nuno so amazing I named my Australian Shepherd after him â€
hole hearted is another excellent video of theirs but my favorite is get the Funk out.
Last year they came out with a new studio album that we have been waiting for for about 12 years lol
I think every metal band of any description is required to have a good ballad in their discography. đ
The talent sometimes is not complicated.
This and Hole Hearted were their slower songs. Check out their more rock based songs you would be surprised. Another band that's similar is Mr Big, they had the song To be With You. I always associate both bands in a similar style. It was pretty common for 80s and 90s bands to release at least one ballad on their albums.
No reactor has mentioned the most powerful lyric in this song. Over 40 reaction watches and not a single one.âyou couldnât make things new just by saying I love youâ. We have all experienced that, our SO saying I love you instead of taking responsibility, trying to distract us. Best line in the song and no one ever mentions itâŠ..
đâ€ïž
It's amazing what two dudes and one freakinÂŽ guitar can do. Btw, Nuno is sexy as fuck even from a male perspective.
Listen to Hole Hearted too. That's a fun song.
No cellphone camera lights...had to go with the original lighter flame during a ballad đđââđ¶đ¶đ¶đ¶
You should listen to the accoustic version of Hotel California. I'd love your opinion of those acoustics!!!!
No insult to the band or the many accomplishments you read to us, but this was their first and only song Iâve heard from them which I heard and loved when it came out. I was born in 1956 and lived through all of the eras and generations of music since a teen lying in the sun in my back yard with ear plugs in the mid 60âs but not liking that era of music so listening to the golden oldies am channel from the 50âs on my transistor radio. Itâs sad with all the six albums you said they made of their music I caught only one song. If you react to more of their music maybe weâll both be enlighten to their culture of rock in their era. Thanx.
Somebody was seriously influenced by the Everly Brothers.
And that's a good thing.
Whole Hearted is another song that was big from Extreme.
You want metal, try Rise from their new album. The guitar solo from the great Nuno Bettencourt is unbelievable. Keep these gr8 reactions coming.
You wouldnt know it from this video, but Nuno Bettencourt is one of the best technical guitarists ever.
You should do the follow-up hit "Hole Hearted" which peaked at #4. It's a good one. Again it's an acoustic song, but more uptempo. It's kind of funny, a metal/rock band and neither of their 2 hits fall into that category.
Check out When Iâm President, Get The Funk Out, Decadence Dance, or He Man Woman Hater.
I loved this ballad but I think this might be more your kind of thing from them, âGet the funk outâ worth a listen
More, Extreme:
Get the Funk Out
Play with Me
Kid Ego
Mutha (Don't Wanna Go to School Today)
please react to "Play with me" by Extreme It is metal genre.
Please make a Reaction to Herbert Grönemeyer âDer Wegâ
Groups would be labeled for what their reputation was gained on. Before this song, Extreme had no ballads. A rap group can do a rock song, a rock artist can do country, a country artist can release rock tracks. A jazz player can suddenly come up with such a catchy hook on a trumpet or saxophone, it ends up on the pop charts. Nobody ever thought about "coloring inside the lines" then. Your song was whatever it was. Usually, when writing a song, you don't know if it will be country, rock, folky, ........it just is the song that you pulled from the ether in that moment with your instrument that amazed yourself or caught your own ear that becomes the magic, no matter from what influences you drew from.
I still remember getting the cassette single, and wearing it out in my car, singing along to and from work for a couple of weeks. Singing Gary's part, rewind, sing Nuno's part. rewind.......
Nuno was and still is so hot đ
Howard jones what is love next salvog
czcams.com/video/kWD5gdpt4Dw/video.html Weird Al made a version of this song too
*Salvo...Bro!!!!!*
This and one other song were their commercial hits so they can pay the bills the rest of their stuff is killer Hard Rock not really Metal but close.
Start with the Hard Rock hit ........ Get The Funk Out czcams.com/video/IqP76XWHQI0/video.html You'll really dig it!!!!
âPeaceâ
Itâs basically saying if you put out then I know you love me. Itâs a song about manipulating your partner into having sex with you. Yeah, and this song topped the charts. Whatâs that say about our society.
dude, if that's what you get out of the song that says more about you than them...
Listen to the Pornogriffiti album ..... it's unreal
