The fight dialogue at the waterfall hit me immediately when that episode dropped. I interpreted it as Tech lashing out at Crosshair for betraying the Bad Batch WAY BACK in season 1. I had that same thought that CX-clone/Tech will come across the goggles and have a flood of memories.
Maybe Tech is just a cyborg now, more machine now than man, having lost his humanity. Maybe there is something far worse than death.

If it's not tech, then CX2 is being used as a huge misdirect. Imagine half the fandom eagerly awaiting for a Tech reveal & then BAM! we get an even more heartbreaking & ironic reveal instead: CX2 being Cody 😳😲😬😖😫 his last conversation with Crosshair at the war memorial even more haunting. And when he's face x face with his rebel brothers again, Rex is forced to terminate Cody in other to save and keep everyone else safe 💔🥺🥹😢😢

I dont think it's tech simply because it doesn't sound like him and it couldn't immediately tell the bad batch would go to that island planet. It may be cody as in legends he was the first dark trooper and he's currently "missing" in the eyes of the empire but what's to say they didn't just say he went AWOL so they can start experimenting on top secret dark troopers.

No because at the beginning season 3 episode 12, you can see that phee sensed something was off. CX-2 was abord her ship but he didn't make a sound when getting off. She couldnt have heard him. Phee more sensed him. Like a familiar energy was in the air. Like she sensed someone she knew was nearby. She probably didnt investigate it very much because she knew the person she was thinking of is long gone...
