    “Jack of all trades, Master Of None”?!? You clearly don’t understand your vehicle. Forget the obsession with the LEDs and the weird little KDSS lean and take this vehicle off road. Seriously. You have one of the most capable off road 4x4 vehicles in the world, and that’s ever been built. Period. It is the master of off-road 4x4 trades. Just ask anyone who’s ever driven one off road. Land Cruiser Prado baby. Choice of overlanders the world over. Get off road dude. Do it.

    In the gauge cluster, the circle on the right with the diagram of the truck is to show what position the rear suspension is at. Lo is for low, N is the middle neutral position and Hi is for high. On vehicles without it, such as yours, it never shows anything. To see opened doors you have to look at the center display between the gauges. Also, try TSB L-SB-0041-14 for the lean problem of the suspension, that would drive anyone crazy. Good luck!

    • @ReidG_RN
      @ReidG_RN  Před 6 lety

      Regis A. Deglans Yep, that’s what that’s usually used for. I wish it had some use other than that single feature, but oh well! From what I know I think it’s a good buy, very low miles for a 2016. As long as the price isn’t outrageously high, then I think it would be a great car. Is it a certified pre-owned GX? I’d recommend having one that is CPO just for peace of mind, but there’s not really anything I’d say to be especially watchful for. Obviously be mindful of the KDSS “lean” but other than that they’re about as solid as they come.

    • @ppngshrk
      @ppngshrk Před 6 lety

      RCGCarReviews the price is I believe $40,999. Which makes it more attractive since it’s that cheap. I am not sure if it is CPO. The car is sold by a Buick/GMC/Chevy dealership, not by Lexus. Is that a deal breaker? I’ve also done my homework and searched for its history using the VIN number. Looked for its history on CARFAX. I know CARFAX isn’t always accurate. So I also went ahead and payed a history check on a site that was certified by the US government. The car is squeaky clean.

      @ReidG_RN  Před 6 lety

      That's not a bad price! Being sold at a non-Lexus dealer, the car wouldn't be CPO. Maybe try to talk them down a little bit, I was able to get mine (granted it's a 2014 that had 28,500 miles) for less than $40k CPO. One good thing about CPO is that Lexus includes the next 4 services (done every 5,000 miles) for free, and it's unlimited mile warranty up to 6 years after the vehicle's original in-service date. I wouldn't necessarily say it's a deal breaker by any means, but it might be worth searching for a CPO one or negotiating the price of this one down some.

      RCGCarReviews I see what you’re saying. I visited the dealership today and seen the car in person. The car was a personal lease. And the “owner” before this got a different car after 2 years. Trying to negotiate a price that’s in my range. What do you think of the fact that it’s a lease?

    huh. That's weird that it washes the headlights when you're trying to just wash the windshield... I thought that was what the separate headlight washing button was for?

    • @proboxpepper6752
      @proboxpepper6752 Před 6 lety +1

      I think all the cars do that, on our 2010 Buick LaCrosse when i wash the windshield with my headlights on the little sprayers also spray on my headlights as well, but if I my headlights are off they’re not gonna spray my headlights.

    • @ReidG_RN
      @ReidG_RN  Před 6 lety +1

      You'd think it would be done that way, but I guess not. It's certainly irritating...maybe there's a way I can disconnect the fuse for them or something.

    • @vee6411
      @vee6411 Před 6 lety

      RCGCarReviews I also own a lexus, the way it works is that the headlight washers operate with the wipers every once in a while. It does that because it assumes that the headlights will be dirty if youre washing your windshield so much. The separate headlight button is there when you want to operate it yourself.

    • @ReidG_RN
      @ReidG_RN  Před 6 lety

      Hmm, so even when the windshield wipers are on when it's raining, the headlight washers will go off ever so often? I guess that makes sense, but I just wish there was a way to disable them with the windshield washers.

      In general I don't like the look of this SUV. However, it's certainly better than a lot of the mini-van looking ones (Honda Pilot) and really most people aren't buying this for the looks. It's a good sized body on frame SUV that's capable on and off road built with quality materials. There are not a lot of this type of vehicle on the market.

    • @andrewm827
      @andrewm827 Před 5 lety +1

      @Cinema Superhit You're completely missing the main reason people buy this SUV: it's body on frame, EXTREMELY capable offroad, and the only way to get a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado platform in North America. Nobody really gives a shit about how it looks.

      Definitely not great. Any body-on-frame SUV like this is going to be pretty thirsty, but for the size of this & lack of power, the fuel economy is pretty poor. I've never towed with mine, but it feels somewhat underpowered just carrying its own weight. Maybe look into a CPO LX570?

    The spindle grills take a bit of getting used to, that's for sure. I first thought they were fugly and would never buy anything that fugly. However, in the last few months I have been seriously thinking of getting some sort of LEXUS SUV for my next vehicle. The more I look at the LX 570, the less I hate the grill. Mainly because I know Toyota/Lexus is probably the top quality brand on earth. I want something that will go 300K miles and hardly have to do more than change tires, brake pads and fluids in those miles, and that makes me look past the grill design.

    Mechanically I have nothing to complain about. Materials are nice. But I still can't get over how outdated the infotainment and electronics are in this truck, esp for the price. Despite being considered luxury it doesn't even offer USB ports in the back and the back row seats are pretty hard. Owner of 2017 premium trim.
