Love the painting. If you are ever in that position again where you are needed to collage and stick something like that down, do the glue part, and place it on the paper. Then gently turn it upside down and press from the backside so that you don't smudge the work on the front or accidentally smear glue over the work. I do this all the time when making collages. Glue, place, turn over and press from the back.
Vacuuming it is a work out, I got a medical intervention once, and the doc told me, just don't do anything hard, just do your everyday chores and stuff just nothing extreme.
So, having in mind what he told me I decided to vacuum, because, it's normal and definitely not extreme.
Oh my... I felt like dying afterwards... like all my insides were about to fall out and I wanted to cry. Like he literally told me to live as if nothing happened, that I didn't need to stay in bed, and yet I could only rest for an entire day because I decided to vacuum for 20 minutes. So, that was fun.
Vacuuming is no joke!!! Especially if you have a heavy vacuum !!!
catching up with your videos and just when i finished the last one, a new one was uploaded??? feeling like i won in life lol
magic exists baby
The reason I love in-progress pieces so much is because you can still see the potential of where it could go. 😂 I feel like that potential holds a lot of magic that fades away once you make your final decisions, lmao.
Also, I would name that doggo Melba, because it reminds me of the peach melba dessert.
I love a good mystery. You’re right.
omg Toady and James switching bodies really had me chuckling, excellent question. I loved watching you paint this session, I'm gearing up to do something on the weekend that pushes my use of color (I usually go for 'life like' color so watching you helps inspire me!)
for the larger pencils that you were unsure to sharpen…you can take an xacto knife and “wittle” it of sorts. Also love the vintage ceramic animals! I know it’s your thing but i love that you’re slowly adding to your collection 😊
I used to work at an antique mall and love all my references I got from that time.
FYI the Staedtler pens are made to write on non-paper surfaces like CDs, plastic and the like - the non-permanent one is water soluble. We used them in school a lot, when we used those old-school overhead projectors with the images printed on see-through plastic sheets.
mmmmm I see!!!!
Love the doggy paint, the colors are so beautiful 💖
i always come back to your channel whenever i’m in a bit of a slump, both mentally and artistically. but i wanna say i haven’t laughed so hard in a while hearing your answer about toady and james swapping bodies. i loved it. i’m laying in bed with a headache but drinking water and made a little charcuterie plate to snack and watch you paint. it’s winter now and i miss the sunlight so watching your summer vlogs is really soothing somehow. anyway love from washington state
Watched this with my 5 year old & during we talked about what things calm us down ❤️ Love the doggie! Canvas is great because you can always add/subtract/paint over it.
wow you just blew my mind by using poscas to figure out your painting. i usually just wing it or i use charcoal but both those things leave me unhappy. Thank you SOOOO much. funny, the things you learn.
You're welcome!! I actually saw someone using the poscas to sketch a big painting on tik Tok!!
I adore that painting. Love 😊❤🤗 our cat Lola says hi. Hugs for Toadie and Hercules xxx
Thank you so much for talking about how you were faster than the people in your class, I've struggled with this a long time (still am) and hearing you say it really made me feel better. I've always had the same problem of finishing a painting faster than others and doubting if I did a good job, just based on the time it took me to do it. Also I love your vibe and aesthetic so much, you're an inspiration
The dog in the painting, his name is Taffy, because his colours remind me of sweet Taffy. Love the colour palette as a whole 👌
YAAASSS! He so totally looks like a Taffy! 😍 You came up with a great name - hope Leigh sees your suggestion 😄
the texture of that pink bunny from apple cheeks looks like a mexican marshmallow cookieee aaaa
the ceramic dog thing painting aa so cute
All of your videos always bring me so much joy, and leave me feeling so inspired. I love the big doggo painting, the colors are awesome, thanks for sharing your daily life with us :)
I still LOVE how the flower painting ended up! the way you saved that was PHENOMENAL 💕💕
have you tried taking a picture of your painting with the white bg and then try to plan the background composition/colors on procreate? Maybe you'd like the end result if you plan it a little bit before committing to a paint color? i don't know painting so i'm just spitballing lol but i love your end results all the time anyway!! 💕💕
dogGAMMIT i love that painting, 10/10 would buy for my living room
My name suggestion for the pup is Dandelion! Love the colours in that piece too.
Another great vlog. Can't wait for NY part 2.
Please name the dog "Leroy".
love that that name includes my name too! very cute
I am on board with this
@@kimberlyjeffers1623 me too :)
He can't have a name OTHER than Leroy, I'm pretty sure.
I likeee it! The colors are literally so nostalgic feeling. I always love your vlogs. Also idk why but that doggo looks like a Ron to me haha
hahahah thank you! yes the colors do have a bit of a 90s toy vibe!
Looooove the painting. Love the pink coming through. You are amazing.
26:20 Yes, the dog painting is wonderful! 😍👍
I LOVE THE BIG PAINTING!!! The colors are super yum, the dog looks like it would be a gentle bestie for Toadie
proud of you for setting that “don’t overwork it” goal and following through-honoring personal boundaries always feels gooddd. painting turned out great, loved it right away on insta and it’s cool to see a process video and that inspo ceramic! dog looks like a Maisie.
We all have those bad painting days when we want to challenge a piece and every thing we do fails…blah….you have my sympathy
I absolutely adore the dog painting! The composition and colors are *chef’s kiss*
Your hair color looks beautiful and healthy with your skin! I’ve just started watching and excited to watch painting!! Yaaaay thank you for sharing your art life with us!
Love how the canvas painting turned out!!
My dog died yesterday and I'm on my period and I finally have the time to relax to some nice videos and within seconds of it starting I feel better, how does your cute artsy and professional style always get better and better? Satisfying, absolutely lovely
haha thundering here too, and I got my stickered up bottle by me at all times
I’m so sorry to hear about your dog and your period. Glad this was a little oasis for you 🥺💕
@@LeighEllexson aww thank you, I really do appreciate your videos! 💖
LOVE the painting! The color palette is exceptional
I just love your easy vibe, my shoulders sink to somewhere around where they're supposed to be
Love the painting. You have a style that makes me smile when I see it.
The painting turned out so beautifully!!!!
The blonde hair makes your eyes look so pretty!!
I love this piece! It has such happy chill vibes that just puts me in a good mood. 🐶💖
The thing you said about going for too long because you saw everyone else was still working reminded me of when I was in Art class and there was an alternate/pro class for everyone to work at their own pace and i feel like that helped a lot of people grow as artists. :)
“I use all my art supplies” such a flex
YAY!!! THE TOAD SOUND EFFECT ARE BACK!!! 🍄 🍄🍄💗✨💕💖💞⭐
Weird comment alert. Love Leigh when she's PMSing, hugging little ducky and talking about her artwork.❤️
I had the same problem with being too fast!! One thing I do when I feel like i might be in a stopping place is take a picture and then add things to it in procreate. That way I can explore other options (like if I want to add black lines or something) and see if I like it or not. Then I can go back and add it if I like it, but if not I haven't ruined my painting!!
Hope this helps
Love Howard the dog painting. Great additions at the end to the work. Fab video ❣️💐🐾
nothing beats having clean bedsheets
This dog looks like a Lloyd :) the stormy vibe was very calming.. love that
I AM LOVING THIS NEW LOOK! AGH LOVE IT
Loved the dog painting!! Great video!
The dog looks like a Roberto, also I can’t get over the way you paint I rlly can’t deal you’re perfect ok byeee
aaaa I loved all of your little desk and plant things but for some reason I especially loved the white vase with the blue lineart, sooooo pretty. And the art you made of it was cool. And yes, we all want to be Cheyenne Barton and y'all are way way ahead of me, but that's ok, the little art studio in my mind is perfect haha
Gracias! ♥️🇲🇽♥️♥️♥️🇲🇽♥️
Looking forward to NY PT2! I just went on a trip and planned to do a similar kind of video, with trip footage and drawing/painting sprinkled in. So funny, must be in the hive mind. 🤔
for real can't get over the cute new blonde hair 😭 i'm so happy you liked your paintings in this vid!!!
Truly love the Rufus painting... he just pops off the canvas.
I submit Lemondrop for your dogs name... also... couldn't agree more about the soup, I love making homemade soups! I can't wait for this oppressive summer heat to be gone so I can get back to soup life! Thank you for always brightening my day! xoxo
soup is the cure to seasonal depression in the winter for me
This was such a great vlog Leigh! And I've been loving the quality of your videos lately--so crisp! All the art you made in this is magical like always 🤹 Also I feel like that dog's name is definitely Huxley! 😉

Yeah well I will try my hardest TO quote you about the walking and thinking, I hope you don't get mad. And the dogs name is Samson in my world. Loved this painting. Love your vlogs Leigh, they're always so chill and fun to watch. My mind doesn't even want to begin when I try and do a voiceover hahaha relatable
ok this makes me want to paint on canvas more 😍😍
It's so cute and the colours are so fresh and alive!

this video made me smile thank you
Awesome video, as always 👌 LOVE the doggie painting, the colours are just 👩🍳💋 It was great hanging out with you 💛
Not sure if you know who Maud Lewis is but I love your work and think that you’d appreciate her style.
Apparently walking while thinking was a common thing philosophers used to do! I think they were called the Peripatetics? Walking does help you think clearer!
so maybe you can quote me on that >=)
Love that doggo piece! I loved it before you "finished" it and loved that you left it ''unfinished"! I will name him Maraschino.. also! Big fan of random ceramic animals that are Made in Japan! lol.. Have WAY too many, but cant seem to stop! Thanks for a lovely vlog!
You can sharpen the pencils using an x-acto knife and sand paper fyi.
love your vlogs so much, leigh! such cozy, fun, chill vibes ✌
I've been really into collaging and scrapbooking lately and seeing you cut up your painting and make something beautiful !!! Super inspiring

Another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ one, damn!
Naming the dog “Vanilla Ice”
OMG I have that same pink mild liner. I found it in a bush on my uni campus and juts thought it was a highlighter lol.
Def gives highlighter vibes
6:00 That is so cute! What a sweet birthday gift! 🥰
Ralph ❤️
I am a fast painter as well. And I always think that there is something wrong with me, when I compare my drawing time with others artists. 😂
Happy moments
love your Vlogs!!! Always sooo inspiring and calm!! ✨🌞 love them so much, never stop being awesome! Your such an inspiration
He gives a mass harrold or hagrid vibe (the dog painting that is)
I havent been on YT in a while, I love your hair!
Awsome love the dog painting ornaments too actually everything thanks for sharing 💜
thanks!! 🧸
The dogo is so cute! Also, they seems like a Pedro
Gorgeous paintings omg!! Obsessed! I am loving all of the vintage ceramics that I’m seeing in this video! I try to take as many reference photos of the future things I wanna draw our paint when I can buttttt have I done anything with them? Nopeee 🤣 thank you for this VIBE of a video ✌️
Hahaha if I was alway collecting them idk if I’d ever draw them! Taking them in one go was the vibe for me this time we’ll see if I can do it again lol
@@LeighEllexson makes total sense!!
I love seeing the new ideas with antiques it's so much fun! My sister and I make customized vintage/antique decor boxes, I think it would be awesome to send you one if you wanted to do an unboxing? We recently picked up some items that remind me of you and I think you'd love! 🖤
I would be honored! Email me!!! There’s a contact form on my website or through Instagram
