- The Loveland Ski Club recently completed a training agreement with the US Ski Team. Olympic Gold Medalist, Mikaela Shiffrin, conducted her May training at Loveland, as a special guest of the LSC! Check out the video footage of Mikaela's first day training at Loveland.
Always enjoy watching the world's best skier!!
Great basics of Mikaela. I hope the chairlift has been upgraded with a backrest by now. Either by adding designated back-paddings on every chair - or remove the seat padding from every second chair and use it as back-padding. so there is alternating 1 chair w/ just bars followed by 1 chair with full padding.
In the late 70s early 80s I was training Freestyle at Eldora and rode the lift with Hank Kashiwa several times. I ended up buying his bindings later in the year.
I love to watch it very interesting. We do it before but in sloppy grass land using the coconut tree pulp.
when I saw this video 2 years ago it was presented by someone other than Loveland.
I said,
"that looks exactly like Loveland!" and
my pals told me to quit drinking and
"Why would Mikaela ski at Loveland, dude?"
"because Loveland has dope snow, frequently, 'tard."
Just goes to show...
Her touch on the soft snow at the end is so fine. Beautiful trenches.
Я люблю эту красотку )))
So you convincing me now to love skiying.
cool .....
Surge is smiling.
You know I have already seen that sport before but I'm not so particular how to win it.
This looks like a beginner course. Do they do slalom on beginner course?
Most people couldn't get down the course without falling let alone post a good time.
Mikaela is very seriously devoted to technique, and one of her ‘secrets’ is total mastery of this slope angle, which allows her to be calmer and clearer at high angle/speed. At the WC level, your mind/vision is as important as body.
This is the "worst" I've seen Mikaela Shiffrin ski, then you realize how little incline the course has, and she's still able to get 70% of a clean high speed race turn. You perfect aspects of technique here, and then kill it on a serious race course.
@@skierpage it is actually very hard to ski aggressively at the elite level on flatter slopes. The gravity loads are so much less, that is makes many of the dynamic techniques HARDER. Many coaches are starting to have skiers do much of their drill work on flatter slopes, because it is actually harder. When you get onto the steeper slopes, it is physically more work, but then your technique is dialed. I do Garlands a LOT on a very mellow slope, and it has helped my carving and transitions a ton.
Hi watch you. My sweet day I am in my sister home in town.
1:54 vodka
she must have drunk before - at 1:43 she COMPLETELY MISSES ALL THE GATES! Disqualified!
I think Mikaela's speed source of lies in the establishment of basic skiing .
Mikaela # 1, but the chairlift is from the 50s!
Ha ha, Loveland doesn't much believe in upgrades. As long as they don't run out of duct tape and bailing wire, they'll keep it going for another year. I used to train there in the 80s. I think they've replaced like one lift since then.
What the?
But this time I could be a baby penguin in the corner to watch you.

Who cares? Silver spoon sthlete! What it takes in this sport. Deep pockets!
She actually brings her own netting down after practice. One of the most humble athletes out there. Have a great day making comments about people you don't know Anthony!
@@LovelandSkiArea1 good reply to a lowlife comment!
@@LovelandSkiArea1 , people have big mouths in mama's basement, behind a keyboard , you know.... they don't know what does it take to reach the level she's at.
