In this video, Mikaela Shiffrin discusses growing up in Vail, Colorado and her passion which lead her to go In Search of Speed as member of the U.S. Ski Team.
We highlight the milestones in Mikaela's short career thus far, take an inside look at her training schedule and learn about the challenges she faced adjusting to life in the spotlight on the road. Finally, she admits that living right down the road from the World Championships at Vail Beaver Creek 2015 might be a competitive advantage.

Mikaela is a super cool individual. I was a liftie at Loveland ski area the past two seasons, and bumped her chair in the spring and in the fall. She is defiantly the fastest person on the mountain by far, truly mind blowing. She is also super down to earth and personable, posed for a photo with a few different random fans, the whole bit, she is a class act.
She will become one of the greatest skiers in the world!

She comes across so... cute, so... adorable, so... perfect! Yes, perfect! She never hesitates, never mumbles nor stutter, always comes up with the perfect blend of insight, wisdom, and humility in her answers, I mean... She's such the spontaneaously perfect girl that one twisted mind could suspect the whole "documentary" was a pre-written, rehearsed and recitated promotional scenario. But no, of course, no, who would do such a thing and for what purpose? Go Mikaella, cut the sponsor-minded public brown-nosing crap and just ski, 'cause that's where you are a true wonder.
Are you kidding?, she has been the star for the last two years. Breaking record after record. already surpassing Lindsey Vonn. And now, just this weekend has set a record at the World Championships. The first skier to win gold in the same discipline in four straight years.

How come she was called a "rising star" in 2015 when she was already 2x WC and 1x olympic champion with over 20 wins? Most ppl would call that a glorious career^^

So having spent all the money that marolt spent on this monument why is there no increase in performance markers (results) for the US Ski Team? It appears that you have gone backwards.

I love Mikaela too...but Lindsey did *NOT* mix politics and sport. She spoke out against a rotten man who disrespects women. He happens to be the president. She did not take issue with his politics...she took issue with his terrible behavior, lies and wretched reputation....not simple politics.

She stated she wants to work on gs but after she started doing well in Gs her slalom was becoming disappointing.

@@RomanoLemm A very asinine statement, Mikaela know Lindsey has earned the respect of all ski racers & not just on the US Team. They are friends & were competitors in a fierce sport where at any moment they could find themselves facing the injuries Lindsey & many other have endured. If you think Lindsey was not a great skier & a competitor that stayed around win or lose to help her fellow skiers your sadly mistaken. Also as Mikela has the same views as Lindsey & if she were to fall into the same trap she will be ridiculed unjustly just like Lindsey has. Lindsey has no reason to think she is not liked & fools like you can change & will despise her as you do Lindsey. You are no ski racing fan . Until Mikaela breaks all of Lindsey's accomplishments she still is not there yet. They are two different individuals completely & if Mikalea can admire Lindsey who the F are you to say she's better all around the board.
@@paullevine1813 for your sake I hope you are just a troll with too much time on your hands. If you know anything about skiing (and I do btw) then you have to acknowledge that mikaela's skiing technique is far superior compared to lindsey's.
