      @@azaniabantu The more I listen to Africans and observe them, I get schooled and my eyes open wide literally and figuratively. I was under the impression that, that hat style was Asian. The one with the shape of a traffic cone. It is simular to when I watch the beautiful South African women do the Zulu dance. Then I realize that it is the exact dance of the people they called Native Indians. Which then tells me that so called Native Americans were Africans mixed with Columbus Europeans. Then I'm forced to ask myself the question; Why would they put so much effort into hiding our truth in other made up people???

    If you are coming from the United States, I will recommend Royal Air Maroc. They fly from New York and Washington, DC.
    Washington DC, USA - Casablanca, Morocco ---> 8 hours
    Casablanca, Morocco - Banjul, The Gambia ---> 3 hours, 30 minutes.
    There will be a layover in Morocco, and please, make sure you check the layover time in Morocco when booking your ticket. If the layover is more than three hours, the airline will provide meal tickets and accommodation for US Passport holders.

    HOUSING is the main expense in any city or country you live in. RE: The 1st question- The estimate of $20,000- $30,000 seems HEAVILY impacted by your family being large. You said it yourself, that an apartment for a SINGLE female for a whole year is only $3000. That's dirt cheap. $300/ month for nice apartment, $100 for utilities, $150 on food (if that), $100 on transportation, $60 for hair/ nails, $100 for misc = $800/ month for an individual to live in the Gambia x 12 months/ year= $9,600 for the year.
    On your first trip there, that $3,600 40ft shipping container that you said is for a car and 4-6 bedroom home isn't necessary at all. Also, for anyone wanting to move, I'd suggest you not getting anything above a 20ft container until you've lived there for several months to be SURE you'll stay on the continent.... Spending $6K round trip on shipping when you realize you're homesick or wanna try living in some other popular expat nation isn't a wise move.
    Single ppl, again, your quote is more like $10K to live there for a year. $20K- $30K for those with large families needing 4-5 bedrooms.

    • @AmyStylinson
      @AmyStylinson Před 4 lety +3

      Probably around $15k to absorb other costs besides rent. And that cost also depends on the country too. Nigeria or Ghana for example are more expensive.
      Also it depends if you’re going more urban or rural too I guess lol

    Our school system in Africa is still Eurocentric. Colonial education is still imbedded in the system. All over Africa,except Ethiopia and Rwanda. The reason Diaspora Africans on the Continent should be thinking of establishing their own school and in spare time ,maybe weekend,could hold workshops or lessons on Africa civilisation,spirituality and inventions. Especially African Americans inventors. On the continent we so ignorant of invention by African Americans.❤️🇳🇬🙏🏽

      I’m not sure if my understanding of African school system being « Eurocentric » is exactly what you meant but I wanted to clarify that we may have a similar school curriculum ( subjects like Sciences, Mathematics, French...) as the Europeans (France for instance if we refer to West African countries that were its former colonies) but there are specific subjects to each west African country like History and Geography for example.
      In my country, (Republic of Benin 🇧🇯 ) the history curriculum is objectively speaking, VERY well elaborated because not only we study the history of our own country but we do study the overall history of Africa as well. (and not from the western perspective)

    • @richardhimself
      @richardhimself Před 4 lety +6

      Also,if we must talk about African educational system. It should come from people who are from there,grew up there or lived there. The curriculum is so expansive that by the time you pass out,you have acquired the necessary knowledge. For example,the American school system does not teach kids about geography or (black) African American studies. That is why most adults are clueless about happenings elsewhere in the world. Some do not even know history because they were not taught. In Africa,they teach you African history,world history and social studies so that by the time you graduate high school, you know your history and culture. You can easily point to any country on the map and you will know that AFRICA IS A CONTINENT and not a country. Now,do you want us to forgo all that?

      @Kennedy Kennedy That's so interesting to me. I guess we tend to project our views of our countries onto other African countries because of the many similarities we might have and it's weird when things aren't what we are used to. I haven't been to West Africa but I do know that countries like Senegal are more similar to how it is in my country (Kenya) where there is a large European presence. I guess the main comment was more so about the countries more like mine. I know that my government still gives preferential treatment to Europeans over its citizens and I'm glad to hear Nigeria doesn't have that

It does not matter what race go to Africa as long as people respect Africa people, countries and culture they should be welcome to go anywhere they want to go it is not about race it is about respect. Are you offended? No harm intended.

    I think the average Joe doesn't have $20,000/30,000 to take to Africa. I believe the best senerio for those striving to go to Africa is to purchase land /plot to build on first then gradually relocate their. But need a liaison set up for travel, purchase, and a host family till transaction are completed. Then go back to America and work to save .... unless you have other income coming in.

      Or you can buy or rent a house. You don't have to build

      20-30grand is a bit much for a single person specially in Gambia. But she round that up just to be on the safe side. Depend on your living status it’s about 10 times cheaper compared to 🇺🇸..Peace and love from 🇬🇭

      Follow your money! If you are going to buy land outside America you need to watch over any project once it gets started plenty of cheap places to stay in the Gambia. Don't forget to do your Research! Do not do online transactions for land or apt rentals go Airbnb until you can get some advice from other US ex-pats.

    Thank you for answering questions bc months ago I was asking Art Cathey and Kwisi questions and got kicked out & blocked and cussed out🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thank you so much for answering questions... they were responding; " if you ask questions you aren't serious and brain dead" 🤔 now I see why they were so defensive about questions 🙄 #Godsprotection was their rejection... 🙏🏽
