70 Years Old Ratchet Screwdriver Restoration - "Weltrecord"

- Today I will be restoring an antique ratchet screwdriver found in the family warehouse.
After some research I discovered that the patent number dates back to 1949 by Conrad Baumann.
This 70 years old tool is in fairly good condition, it has only some superficial rust and a beautiful patina which unfortunately I will have to remove.
This project took a lot of patience to clean and polish all the small metal parts.
I also did hot bluing on some parts, but only for an aesthetic reason, to give some contrast.
Giving a new life to vintage tools is always very satisfying and rewarding.
I hope you enjoy the video and I'd like to know what you think about this tool.

Hey. Nice video.. good luck with your chanel 🤝
Thanks for the appreciation, I will pass by and take a look at yours 😉
Very nice job, friend; gorgeous dye you chose for the handle. Warm regards from Mexico.
Thank you for your appreciation. For the handle I wanted a slightly aged effect and I did a light pass with fine steel wool when dye dried.
Cool project, beautiful result turned out, I liked it 👍
Thank you, glad to hear that 🙂
Very impressive.
Thank you

Thank you very much for your thought and for helping the channel grow
I have an old ratcheting "push" screwdriver that I thought was pretty interesting, but the design of this one is completely different and way more unique, never seen one of these.
I don't think it's a very common tool, that's why I wanted to restore it. If you do a search using "ratchet screwdriver" you will find only a couple of videos of big well known channels.
@@LTMS I think mine is a Yankee, Mike used one on Breaking Bad. I think that's what most are, you push them in and they spin.
@Toystorations I also have a Yankee n. 130A, not in bad condition, but maybe I will restore that one as well 😉
