Nice and respectful guys! I pray their success!
I know right. I love they have alot of love and respect their community. They don't have issues walking through the whole hood. That speaks HUGE volumes in making a difference in coming together for change. Most definitely will be back to watch future videos. Thank you HoodVlogs!✌🏾💌❤✌🏾💌❤
@bigben1986 So true. Your acknowledging the positive aspects about them speaks well about you. For you to look for some positive, when many only desire to look for the negative in certain people & areas, is a blessing. May God bless you & yours, always. 😊🙏
They didn’t realize it at the time, but the bodega they went into is now a celebrity tik tok star with millions in followers

That’s the aki way guy? He’s gotten to big for his britches hes all annoying and way over the top now with like you said all the little tik tok white boys from Kansas and those other fly over states not even realizing they are going to the hood store for one of the more notorious projects in Brooklyn so then America by default
The New York ones are the best. The vibe is just straight. Everyone trying to just make it.

Thats what big cities are like. So much for people to do.
Yes I only wanna see the NYC hoods! They are so raw & uncut. I love the reality of them ❤️🔥

Hi HoodVlogs. I’m new to the channel, but definitely respect the mission of giving people an opportunity to share their truths about where they’re from. If you ever think about highlighting other complexes in Brooklyn Cooper, Marcy, Bushwick, Pink Houses, Williamsburg are other areas. I’m sure they all have stories to share too. Peace and blessings to all in every neighborhood. New subscriber.
The brother with the guess shirt you can tell is a very very good dude to be around in the hood and in general, hes not stupid at all and can make it far places, hope he dont get caught up out there and make it through safe.
He’s really a positive person and a resource in the community.
He past getting caught up in dumb shit. I wouldn't worry for big homie. It's the youngeez that we need to watch out for.
I feel like I worked with him before he works with the youth
I agree 100. Smart dude.
A real solid brother. I’d love to meet him and chop it up with him he seem like a dude to inspire and educate others
This is the ABSOLUTE BEST AND WARMEST hood interview. I grew up in East New York Brooklyn but gotta give Red Hook their props for representing on the real tip (seriously).
Straight facts. I grew up in Cooper!
Eny linden Hinsdale
Ny done been thu all the violent eras back in the day.. Lot of ppl fled and went elsewhere So ... its mild now I think
Dawg was gonna say the hood mad times, caught himself, and said “the area”. Every time. That’s grown man shit.
It's so unfortunate that we dont see the potential in our own dam neighborhoods until the gentrificationers see it.
It's unbelievable Queen!! I couldn't agree more..
You're absolutely right.
You have to have the money to do that. In America black people don’t have that. The people coming and taking shit over , who are not black have the money. If black people had the money trust we would have our own shit lit. We did it before but the wealth balance in this country really fucked up and we at the bottom.
@@jwill5033 and the people in power don’t help out as much as they should either. Jewish people buy the whole neighborhood and fill it up with their own people. When have you saw jayz or pdiddy buy out complex buildings / projects/ neighborhoods etc and fill it with their own people. I’ll wait. Other cultures do it.. Haitians, Spanish. Just not black people. Only a few in Harlem and bed stuy . And i say “A FEW” loosely
@The Brazen Serpent your right it’s not their job . But that’s the mentality we have as a race. To the Jews it’s not their job either they make it their job to keep longevity in their neighborhoods and culture. But your right it’s no ones job to do those things but that’s why we as black people are where we are and others are where they are because ya as black people feel like it’s not our job and that’s fine of course

I left "Brooklyn" but it did not leave me I learned a lot in "Brooklyn" it is a different learning compared to other area in The Boroughs. He is right about the view and the money that people would like to make from the area. But, the people there will fight for that history!
@@gongagong Facts!

Why do you keep putting Brooklyn in quotation marks?? Just wondering.
@@SBglamma Because, it was a place where you lived and the era's that I mentioned when you had to really knew how to survive and stay alive! I am not "Bragging but that is where I learned to fight" I was a young female attractive and still in the 60's, 70's, 80's, but the early 80's I left for good. I realized that I survived a very tough area. Where I lived after the early 80's I looked back at my life and said, I have not ever experienced the life I lived in "Brooklyn" I had a lot of cousins and my uncles made sure I was safe at times, but they could not be with me all of the time!

My pops moved into Red Hook to live with his grandmother after his mom died in the mid 80s he told me it was ROUGH in the late 80s-90s.
Brutal early 90s they were shooting during one of my baseball games there both teams had to scamper
Still... I went to school with mad people from Red Hook and Gowanus... I’m from Flatbush it was different type of struggle for real... colors and gangs were very different on them sides.
New York in general isn’t the same from back in the 80’s and 90’s I left Brooklyn in 92 and moved to Miami. First time I went back was in 2008 and everything was different by then.
Red hook was the worst place 2 get in some shit at because it's nothing over there. Train station is far away unless you got lucky & was able 2 hop on the bus. Other than that if you don't have ppl there or a car, don't go lol

Also I’m glad the homies hip to gentrification and understand what they trying to do.dude in the guess shirt seems pretty smart and like he can make a difference. I used to always hear about Red hook this my first time actually seeing it like this.
Gentrification is good when they preserve some affordability in the process allows for all walks of life to improve together. However , urban gentrification is dead. A lot of mortgages taken out in the suburbs. For the time being it’s reversed and white flight has occurred again.
@Been Cxzy Not everyone living in such areas can afford moving forward, i think that is the problem
Everybody in Brooklyn is hip to gentrification. Shit it’s been going on for 20+ years now. Van brunt st. Used to be ghetto and all Puerto Rican and vacant lots. Now it’s all white hipsters
Fleischpaeckchen people with that mentality on vouchers or hud. The ones who know they rent staying put. They talking out they ass
@@miket7787 Yes I believe it is like this in Brooklyn. I am from Berlin in germany and here it is the quite oppsite. People with a lot of money buying houses and raising rents really high so that people who are from here cannot afford it anymore and have to move out. Cultural places getting removed for offices and hotels or more luxury appartments and all the things which make this city great slowly disappear

No Redhook is the biggest project in Brooklyn second biggest in Ny
"No stores, isolated"
...homie open your own stores!! That mentally that hustling is the only way, is BS. Hustle, save money, open a empire.
Factz
Take out a SBA loan and open up shop!
That's dope how many stores do you have
Red hook is isolated because of the BQE. it’s an industrial area surrounding the projects if you open a store no one is going
When he says isolated, he means in Red Hook, there is basically one way in and out. It's a destination. You don't go through or past the Red Hook P's. Opening a business in that area presents a dilemma for that reason.
Gangs would be good if they actually helped the community, but sadly they don’t.Get them out... Kids can’t play they serve no purpose.
This is the result of the nonsense we did in the 90's,I am so ashamed.

The Pink Houses in East New York would be a good one to do. My dad's furniture studio is in red hook so I got to know the area pretty good even though I'm from downtown Brooklyn. Red hook has a special vibe, it's got the salt air from the ocean and lowkey at night even though it's so close to the city. People are in general more laid back and less wound up but the projects can still get active sometimes. I think you should hit Far Rockaway. It's a community that was hit hard from hurricane sandy and has a bad reputation for crime but like all hoods got some dope people out there. It's on the south shore so you got a mix of surf shops and Caribbean soul food joints. No neighborhood like it.

@@SkoolBoiDon I liked your comment, however I do agree that we have to do better for ourselves on the unified tip. We Can’t always afford to wait for a loan, especially when we really deserve Reparations. Sometimes we just need grassroots leadership, to find out what businesses we can infiltrate inside our own communities & then take them over, just like they do to us, & we call it “Culture Appropriation.” Then We need be very polite & business like, while Boycotting these non black, & foreign businesses, who don’t contribute anything back into the Hood that they exploit. Say what you want about the NOI, but when he was alive, Khalid Abdul Muhammad used to go around to all of these neighborhood stores with the FOI, & collect money from these Non Black Businesses, especially the Arab Muslims. The ones who didn’t give up no bread, got put on full blast & boycotted, simple. Every example for us to rise again as a People has BEEN HERE! Lived in Redhook for many years and left almost 10 years ago. Its a great neighborhood. A lot of culture. At its root its a beautiful place. A lot of movies, shows, and music videos are filmed out there. Can find great food any time of the day. So many great people and just like NYC in general some larger than life personalities, i mean it the block is hilarious. Ack in the store is hilarious too and he makes some off the hook sandwiches. Sadly they buggin out there right now though and its a shame whats going on. We gotta do better ya. Its just sometimes the hood seems like it has a dark cloud over it. I saw it come together last year over a tragedy. It shouldnt have to be like that though. RIP Shock Los. Love.

Red Hook used to be one of the most dangerous housing projects in the country
All facts
I missed being there. We used to lived there from 1988 until 1992, and my grandmother used to lived there for a long time. This is the projects that I missed. I still remember them, they had playgrounds, walkways and basketball courts. These bring back memories. I remember when we first seen my grandmother was back around 1979 or 1980 since I was still a baby.
