Is it just me or during this chapter it feels that Chrom's ability and crit % gets a buff and he starts getting triggers non stop with the only crit line being: "Now Im Angry"
When I played this first time, Chrom was not only angry storywise, he was so angry that in almost all fights, he landed a crit in-game, that was the chapter Chrom landed the most crits in the entire campaign lol, it was just unbelievable.
it took some people a decade to notice that Kellam is on the cover art. -also, I've always said this. Play Kellam as an assassin. He is completely invisible!-
This makes me tear up a bit. This game holds so many nostalgic memories for me as teenager. I wish this game would get a remaster for the Nintendo Switch
I agree. However, on this mission, I kill everyone for xp, and when I get to the end, mustafa is asking for his troops to be saved even though they are already dead
There is more emotion in Fire Emblem Awakenings Box Art than 90 percent of the video games I have played. I will always consider it one of the best box arts in gaming.
(big spoilers ) I dont remember it exactly, but iirc Mustafa didn't even want to fight Chrom, he was sympathetic that Chrom just lost his sister, but he didnt't want to lose his family back home. Neither side wanted to fight, and yet because of gangrel they didnt have a choice
That was part of what cemented this moment for me, it would've already been an emotional moment with Chrom being angry, but they went beyond that to add Mustafa. He added a new layer to it, with you now having difficult feelings for even the people you have to fight, and to show how the sister impacted others even when in death. I didn't want to fight him, and he didn't want to fight me, but we had to. The dark map with the rain falling, and the fact that this music played throughout the fight, really added to it and I think the music conveys the anger, sadness, and need to keep fighting extremely well. All of this comes together to cement this moment as one of my favorites in gaming. Awakening may not be a top 3 games of all time for me, but this moment is definitely up there for me. Last thing I almost forgot to add is after beating Mustafa he asks you to spare his men, which from what I've heard people tended to try to fight him last because they didn't want to kill him and wanted to see if there was another option, which I can admit I had to replay the fight in order to beeline to him instead of leaving him for last.
Quite possibly my favorite chapter in any FE game. The emotions you feel during it are unrivaled and this song perfectly captures the complex mix of emotions
Awakeningi's ost has such a "disney" vibe in a very good way, it still picks up lots of classic fire emblem queues in its ost but this very lyric music really calls to this western children's fantasy vibe and i think it's pretty awesome for such a sad tune, almost makes us realise that in front of loss and events threatening us, we sometime feel like children crying for help, at least that's what the segment at 1:56 makes think, and the repetion with louder cords and percussions at 2:16 really feels like the characters now cry with rage and despair, let their emotions explode and grow up in the process, accepting the death and duty that it now leaves on them. The whole music tells a story and i think it's this one, what a deep track that is very surprising for such a naratively simple game, this moment made me realize it's still a fire emblem game, and i wish greil's death in POR had this kind of music and presentation in its following level since it's pretty much the same for the main character naratively speaking.
you nailed the disney vibes, and on a semi-related note the intro really sounded like something yoko shimomura (kingdom hearts' composer, aka the disney meets final fantasy game) would write
Mustafa is more memorable and tragic than half the characters in the entire series. A whole tear-jerking story, told throughout the course of one map. The map design itself is mediocre at best, but with this music, and fighting a character I’d do anything to save… this chapter ended up as one of my favorites.
@@jillianeolivialecerisier5694 I dont't remember many bosses of the little FE games I have played, but I just remember so clearly Mustafa and how tragic that whole part of that story is.
@@gicrueldad9520 Oh, talking about bosses, obviously Mustafa is one (not to say the only one) boss that is truly memorable. I thought we were talking about characters in general, but if we mean bosses, I absolutely agree.
I mean, I always saw that emm as one from a parallel world akin to the future lucina comes from. Emm got assassinated differently there, after all, and didn‘t literally splat on the floor in front of chrom, left in gangrels „care…“ after… I can see it more likely that she somehow survives in a situation like that, and we already have someone who came from a different dimension in Yen Fai.
@@V1G4M1 Fair enough. The only exceptions I can completely see would be Gangrel, Walhart, and probably Aversa. They personally recall the events of the story, with how they remark about their defeats. Of the three, Gangrel playing dead to sneak away is somehow the most believable. ...just saying.
The art is wrong, for some reason they have something at the bottom of their ankles that looks weird. (it's a joke about the feet because in game they dont have feet)
Can anyone who played the gane tells me what happens when this theme plays? Is it a cutscene or a specific fight music? If a cutscenes, what's going on? If a fight, against who?
If you have any interest in the game, I'd recommend playing the game for yourself or at least watching a playthrough and reaching this song that way. If you just want the answer despite that, ... Short Answer: This song plays during the battle of Chapter 10. Long Answer: The two main nations of the game have a long history of war between them but have recently seen peace due to the efforts of the Queen of the nation your main cast hail from and the older sister of Chrom, Emmeryn. War starts to break out again, and in a desperate attempt to hold peace and stop the war, Emmeryn kills herself to make a point to the people of both sides. It's mostly successful, and most soldiers lost their spirit to fight and put down their weapons. The main cast heads in to fight the remaining forces, the evil king, and end the war accompanied by this song. The song pretty much perfectly explains the atmosphere and weight this moment in the story has in it.
@@sapphire5780 one of the most beautiful moments in the history of video games, storytelling through gameplay. congrats for being able to synthesize the power of this song in a few lines of text, but as you yourself emphasized, it is much more impactful to see the enemies in-game giving up the battle.
