    I like the Mounted Police Training Barracks in the bottom left corner of Louisville’s big park. It’s only one level, but the building only has windows on one side of it and an archway big enough for a big double gate. The building has an open courtyard in the middle so you can work on cars and farm in safety. The building has two storage rooms with crates and metal shelves for plenty of storage. There are also bunk beds and a small armory. The surrounding area has 3 water barrels and log piles. There is even a small pond for fishing in addition to the lake in the park. The park is mostly surrounded by big fences so large hordes can’t easily migrate in. Within walking distance you will find:
    2 gas stations
    Pawn shop
    Animal shelter/vet
    Pharmacy
    Garden center
    Police Station
    Tire Center
    Garage
    Small bookstore
    Restaurants
    A small mall
    A BIG Gigamart
    It’s a great spot!

      I've never even been in the park. I'll have to check it out. My gaming group is talking about a PZ run so I might have some multiplayer vids soon. I'm really excited about the new building tiles in build 42. We're really going to be able to completely transform buildings.

    You dont need a sledge, you can just pick up those barriers you first sledged and then open the fence blocking the way. Done it plenty without the sledge. HOWEVER sledge is always good to have.
    SECOND Love that base! might have to do it myself!!! I am currently doing a country club base which im loving, I also enjoy the houses right up north near fallas lakes, right next to a petrol station, good for MP servers, no one goes that way and its close to the army supply store! GREAT VIDEO MATE

      Thanks! I got a little carried away with the sledge. I normally enter via the train tracks but went in through the main gate on that run.
      My group usually bases at the three gated houses just east of that fire station and I've been wanting to do a base there for the longest time. I'm happy with how it turned out.
      I've based up at the gas station in Fallas Lake several times. It's just a good central location.
      I'll be starting a new MP run soon so I hope to have another base video at some point. I'll livestream some of it.

    That fire-station served as my first (and then second) survivors' main base after migrating from their original starting-home in Westpoint. I have very fond memories of the building, so much so that in my most recent playthrough I decided to base up there once again - for nostalgia!

      My MP that group that formed during Covid and has sadly become inactive would always base up at the firehouse in Rosewood. We would then relocate to the three houses that are fenced in with the small pond not too far from there. I would always see that firehouse in loot runs and think that would be the perfect solo base. I share those sentiments of nostalgia. I hope one day my old group will give it another run. It was such a chill and drama free group. Here's to the memories.

      You just learn to take less chances and get better at risk assessment. I don't believe anyone is good at this game. It's always just a matter of time. I had to start this video over about 15 minutes in because I got a bite in the first house I went into. Keep at it.

      @@piZZlePlayZ Thanks for that. How do you handle balancing all the skills out? Do you just start with a few core ones or spread it out evenly?

    • @piZZlePlayZ
      @piZZlePlayZ  Před 23 dny

      I focus on carpentry, cooking, medical, fitness and strength in the early game. Make sure you're watching the life and living channel the first 9 days. This will give you a huge boost. Carpentry is important because you will usually lose water first and you can build rain barrels and plumb them to a sink. Securing skill books is very important as this will help you grow your skills faster. There is a list of VHS tapes that grow skills on the wiki but be sure to read the corresponding skill book first. You should be doing burpees for 30 minutes every day. Cooking food using more complex recipes will give you far more benefits than just eating canned food. After the helicopter event you should hit up a book store and start focussing on your other skills.

    Proceeds to use sledgehammer on road blocks that can be picked up and moved and gates that can be opened.

    • @piZZlePlayZ
      @piZZlePlayZ  Před 21 dnem

      In my mind it is quicker. I don't have to worry about getting distracted and leaving them in my inventory and becoming encumbered while in a fight. We all have gone to pick something up and then out of nowhere you're suddenly surrounded. You will be needing the sledgehammer to remove the stairs in your new home.

    Best base for me would be the Gigamart located near the train station and LSU. The store has two floors and four gas pumps. Clearing it would require a shotgun and plenty of ammo but it would be worth it afterwards. Of course, plenty of parking for my car aswell.

    • @piZZlePlayZ
      @piZZlePlayZ  Před 23 dny

      I looted that Gigamart on this run. Definitely a lot of room to park cars inside. Which as you can tell that's very important for me. I'll have to be there on my next run and see how it turns out. In my MP runs we always seem to base up at the three gated houses with the small pond that's not far from this house.

    3:06 ???? You don't need a sledge, those doors just open for me lol....
    Also you don't need to sledge stairs to keep zombies off your top floor

    • @piZZlePlayZ
      @piZZlePlayZ  Před 16 dny

      The sledgehammer is to destroy the staircase at the new base. Stairs can't be disassembled. As for destroying the barricades and gate it just felt right in the moment. I don't always take the main road into Louisville. I usually enter through the train tracks but I had vanilla zombie pops on that run. The barricades can be picked up but I don't usually like picking up objects while there are zombies in the area. It's just a habit from normally playing with 4X pops but the sledge worked fine.
      I'd love to hear your thoughts and how you secure the second floor of your bases. I'd love to learn a better way.

    • @Guts-the-Berserker
      @Guts-the-Berserker Před 16 dny

      @@piZZlePlayZ I'll let you in on a trick. Take a normal hammer and take out the tiles just after the tile that connects to the top of the stairs. Sledgeless top floor secures. 😉 The barriers make sense, very cathartic since they cockblock the car so hard when in real life you could run them down since they're just those little deployable construction site barriers. The fence gates are useful to block zeds though.

    • @piZZlePlayZ
      @piZZlePlayZ  Před 16 dny

      So just dismantle the floor tile leading to the tile that connect the stairs and the stairs collapse? That's genius. I've never thought to try that. Still needed the sledge to tear down a few walls for the build design I had in my head but not necessary. I like having a door to access the roof but you could always just hop in and out of the window. I had someone else say you could just drive though the barriers but I'm pretty sure it was a trap. Zomboid is one of those great games where you can have 800+ hours in and still learn new stuff. I appreciate the pro tip!

    • @Guts-the-Berserker
      @Guts-the-Berserker Před 15 dny

      @@piZZlePlayZ The stairs don't collapse but if every tile that connects to the top of the stairs are removed via picking up the tiles & then using carpentry to dismantle the wood tile underneath the decorative tile you get basically the same thing but without needing a sledge. The stairs are intact too so you can store those tiles in a box at the foot of the stairs incase you ever get stuck outside your 2nd floor without sheetropes since zeds can tear them down. You'll have an extra form of emergency access this way in addition to not needing a sledge since the stairs are still there.

    Yeah I tried playing solo, and I make it to my perfect safe house, base of operations and Everytime I get there I get bit! Like three times already I would get there clear out the house, watch TV, read books and during the night a zombie attack happens and I get bit, dang they need a skill revival tool mod for it like a skill journal or something like that

    • @piZZlePlayZ
      @piZZlePlayZ  Před 24 dny +2

      There is a skill recovery journal mod. It has to be crafted and makes soloing less stressful. I don't always use it because if you get all the skill books and VHS tapes you can get most skills back quickly.

  • @Hunter-jo8ud
    @Hunter-jo8ud Před 23 dny

    The funny thing is you dont need a sledgehammer to get into Louisville. I dont know why people say that. The street blockade in front of the entrance is buged and you can drive through them (if you dont have a mod to fix this) but even if not you can move them aside and the metal gates can be opened normal.

      @piZZlePlayZ  Před 23 dny +2
