Saveedro in Myst 3 is one of my all-time favorite villain performances. Not just for video games, but for all media formats. Confronting, outsmarting and redeeming Saveedro my first time- along with solving the incredible poem puzzle for his home age -was a thrill I still remember all this time later. Top-notch stuff. :-]
I just finally played this after all these years and my favorite Age was Ameteria and the pinball rollercoaster ride. I played it twice in 2 day's. And was jazzed when I saw Brad Dourif as a character. I didn't know until I got to J'nanin. In fact Myst is all I've been doing for the last 7 day's. Every game and even the 2014 and 2021 versions. The 2021 version is amazing but I really like the 2014 version as you can use w-a-s-d on keyboard. Cyan please have this in future titles. It makes it so much better to feel full movement.
I absolutely fell in love with the myst series thanks to Exile, it was the first myst game I ever played and once I finally beat it, I wanted more!! So of course I had to check out the rest of the series. Brilliant!! I highly recommend this game and series to anyone who loves a good puzzle game challenge.
i'm more curious how they managed to put in 2d videos into a 3d environment where you can move the camera about and it still plays...that for me is what stood out the most when i first played this game.
Just finished Myst 2021....Loved it since 1993.....and I will wait for Riven to be remade (as they are doing) so Im going to play Myst 3 exile meanwhile. Bought this back in the early 2000's, I remember I loved it.
from back then, the Windows 3 times, until this very moment, I haven't played a game that could possibly given me the same incredible feeling as when I played Myst!
I remeber when i got myst. I had no idea about it it was myst3 in four cds. I just heard the name before. I was blown away with it. The graphics and low requirements. I had a old pc and was wondering how does it look so good. Well its not 3d. Wish i started with riven, i coudnt enjoy it much after exile as it was older and harder
it's a good sequel, but i just feel like you would never catch cyan justifying the existence of puzzles with "teaching lessons" via lesson ages. But all things considered, Presto justified the existence of the lesson ages fairly well

I'm disappointed that they didn't go into how they got such an incredible iconic actor like Brad Dourif on board. Or what it was like working with him. It seems kinda short sighted.
I’m not sure by your wording if you yourself already knew why he went on board and were wishing the doc said so for other people to learn, or if you didn’t know why he joined and were curious, or if you learned about it in the months after making this comment… Regardless, I’ll write it out here for anyone who was wondering. Turns out Brad was actually a big fan of the previous two games and when he heard they were making this one, he asked to join!

33bigmoney Sure. I think the whole Amateria was a misstep. The silly logic puzzles and tiresome. And thematically made no sense to me. Momentum and speed test? I don’t know. Visually gorgeous but it was my least favourite age. I like Myst when the puzzles are more environmentally meshed and don’t feel like out right puzzles. And the last age was literally one room large! I mean, talk about a short age. I think something a lot more fleshed out could be done there and more with the player choice too. Again, it is kind of my favourite Myst game because I think it is a good balance of a lot of the elements. But coming off Riven where the puzzles that were organically part of the age, this feels lacking in puzzle creativity.
This was my favorite game in the Myst series. Brad Dourif really sold it for me. Dude is a phenomenal actor.

I think they did a fantastic job of continuing the Myst saga in this beautiful game. A worthy sequel.

When I first played this game I had my doubts since it wasn't done by Cyan, but my apprehensions were quickly put to rest. Loved this game.
The music from this is just amazing. I played the hell out of it. The song "Exile" with the vocals still sends shivers down my spine.

I imagine it's the same concept as skyboxes, but as videos.

It's not better than Riven for me, but it's my second favourite and waay better than the rest.
It's a bit off compared to the first too, imo. But it still has some great moments. The whole Amateria Age is just goddamn brilliant.

Riven remain the best without doubts. It’s more realistic even if more static, but here Presto studios created outstanding and faithful sequel.

This game comes really close to being amazing, but falls short by some bad decisions and rushed feeling end act. Still enjoyed it though.
