The VS Specialist has a stepper motor, which tends to be louder than some other cutter motors. However, if this particular sound is extra loud, or only happening upon startup, please contact our Technical Support team. If you don't mind, you can even take a quick video with your phone and email it support@heatpressnation.com. A trained technician will get in touch with you after reviewing the video. Of course, you can also call us directly at 800-215-0894. -Jared
The MH Series from US Cutter has similar performance specs. The MH is slightly faster, but the Vinyl Systems Specialist is able to exert a greater cutting force. The VS Specialist also includes a Stand and Media Catch Basket as standard equipment. The biggest difference is going to be the warranty and support. US Cutter offers a 90-day warranty while Heat Press Nation offers a 1-year warranty. We also offer lifetime Technical Support for all of our products as well.
Yes, Vinyl Systems is our brand. If you'd like to speak to someone to get more information on this product, please feel free to give us a call at 800-215-0894. We're open from 7am-5pm PST, Monday through Friday.
Why do I see at 1:14 the blade is off past the vinyl loaded? Sure wish your blade was on the inside of the carrier. I'd be all over this and sell my USC MH if it was.
Good eye! We loaded a random design in the cutting software and didn't pay mind to the size of the vinyl loaded. Definitely will pay better attention to that in the future!
Not directly. But the cutter does come with its own cutting software, SignMaster Cut. So you can still work in Sure Cuts A Lot, but you'll have to export your files as a vector PDF and then import them into SignMaster to cut them with the Specialist.
Hi, i will be buying one real soon, but i have one question a youtuber said ( they come with little problems , but fixable problems ) what do you think he meant by that ?
I was looking at this one too. But they're out of stock, no notice as to if and/or when stock will be replenished. FYI - they do have an email notification you can sign up for on the product description page on their site if you want to go that route.
We're working on those "little problems". Vinyl Systems is a relatively new line of cutters. As a result, the software and some drivers are not as easy to get started as they should be. We've heard our customers' feedback and are working on solutions and system upgrades for future models. For now, a quick call to our Technical Support department will get you set up in no time and those "little problems" will be out of your way! Vinyl Systems cutters (along with everything else we sell) come with FREE Lifetime Technical Support, so you can be assured that you'll be taken care of if you decide to go with this product.
Vinyl Systems cutters are not currently compatible with Mac computers. The workaround would be to install Parallels or similar program that allows you to run a Windows OS on your Mac computer.
First do your homework, research what a cutter/plotter key needed features: 1) Servo motor to assure fast, quiet, and provides a long life cycle, 2) Able to do contours, 3) Auto registration and lastly 4) Auto blade depth control These people are trying to sell you on low cost and quality not informing you on the downside. It is not HeatPressNation's responsibility to inform, it is yours and your only.
Actually it is Heat Press Nations responsibility to inform customers. As it is with all businesses. Customers do need to do the research of course.. and ask the right questions. Do comparisons, check reviews, discovered issues on products. All one really has to do is to ask what are the known issues and limitations of said product. The retailer is responsible and required to inform you of known issues and limitations.
Agree, which this presentation fails to do. Agree again on the responsibility of the potential buyer. You will see many doing un-boxings and reviews who know little about plotters/cutters.
Not the Specialist. The next cutter above is the Vinyl Systems Edge, which has contour cutting. You can see that cutter here: www.heatpressnation.com/vinyl-systems-edge-28-cutter-plotter-contour-cutting-stepper-motor.html
The Evo is an amazing cutter, especially when you consider the price. This cutter has an upgraded DC Servo Motor, which makes it faster, quieter, and able to cut with more force and significantly less noise. It also has the contour cutting feature, which can be used with the included SignMaster Pro program. For more info: www.heatpressnation.com/vinyl-systems-evo-28-cutter-plotter-contour-cutting-dc-servo-motor.html
Unfortunately, I don't believe there's a machine with a servo motor in that price range brand new. You may be able to find one used in that price range.
Is it possible to use Sure Cuts alot with this I have a macbook and did not realize that the included software was not compatable
which is a better cutter? uscutter sc2 or vinylsystems specialists 28
Would this work well with a thick grade of tackle twill used on collegiate and professional sports jerseys?

How do I enable ARMS on this machine?
The Vinyl Systems Specialist does not have the contour cutting feature.
Can someone please advise me why my vinyl specialist cutter makes a loud noise when I turned it on for the first time?

How does this cutter compare to the MH series from US Cutter which uses a stepper motor and comes with Future Corporation software also.

What adhesive cutting mat can work with this cutter ?
We use the Silhouette Cameo 12"x24" cutting mats all the time and they work great. You can use pretty much any cutting mat.
@@HeatPressNation thanks! i bought this cutter from HPN and hasn't failed me as well. 👍
Will this cutter work with Sure Cuts a Lot 4 Pro?
Not directly. But the cutter does come with its own cutting software, SignMaster Cut. So you can still work in Sure Cuts A Lot, but you'll have to export your files as a vector PDF and then import them into SignMaster to cut them with the Specialist.

Yes, you can cut by color with Signmaster. (There was a reply previously made to this comment that had some incorrect information.)

Vinyl Systems cutters are not currently compatible with Mac computers.
