I've been shopping there for years and I've always wanted to work there, but seeing you talk about working there and how great it is was the final push I needed, and I applied last summer. I love shopping at indigo bc I can spend hours on end there just glimpsing through the different book sections and there's coffee available at the attached Starbucks and ALSO not book related but they have so many other pretty things?! like throw pillows and coffee mugs and everything
also I love all those receipts with the "here's a chance to win a 500$ gift card!!" which I NEVER win but I like getting the opportunity to it's like roll up the rim but with higher potential earnings?? bless
I love shopping at indigo because of the cute stationary they have, along with the plum points that I can redeem in the future. They also have a charity you can donate to which is amazing ! Love Love Love it !
i love shopping at Chapters because it always helps me relax and unwind - nothing is better than browsing the aisles and picking up a new book along with a nice hot chocolate from Starbucks! plus, i love the deals, of course :)

I love Indigo, no matter what stage or place I have been at in my life indigo was always there. It had the books that I loved at the atmosphere that I craved. I love indigo so much that I even have a good rapper with my my local stores staff and we are on a by name basis. I wish I could live there.

i love going to Chapters Indigo because of the atmosphere, its just so calm and pleasant. they also have so many different kinds of books, which makes walking through the store really fun. i go in for one book i walk out with ten.
Chapters is a refuge for when I need a break from life (only problem is that I spend money I shouldn’t 😂). You can just roam or sit and drink a coffee reading or spend more time than you should looking at and searching for your next buy!
Currently in the process of becoming a Canadian citizen, and I literally CANNOT wait! Mainly just to go to Indigo all the time! :D it’s the best, especially for young adult readers!

I really liked The Passion if Dolssa, and the audio book is really good too, with multiple narrators.
Chapters is my favorite place in the entire world! I have been reading books since I learned how to read and when I was little my mom used to make a day out of it. so like we would go out to eat for lunch and spend a couple hours in the store looking at everything that was new, I would always be able to find something to read and a bunch of books similar to it and I would get super excited to get home and start reading my new books. As I grew up and was able to buy with my own money, Chapters basically turns into wonderland. You loose time looking in every isle, finding a new book to read in a different genre. I love how in the kid section theres more than just books, like theirs toys and some interactive activities which is always a plus. Although sometimes I dont always have money to spend there so I try not to go in, because it breaks my book loving heart to leave empty handed.
But yeah I like going to chapters, because its basically my version of disney land, its the happiest place for me, I feel at ease when I walk in. If im having a bad day, I can always count on a good book (or a new book) to make me feel better. I actually have a couple stores near my house and ive applied countless times to get a job there, and its hard but i wont give up because working at chapters is basically a dream for me.

I love going to chapters and indigo because it's like in the book..the smell of other peoples houses, you are surrounded by all the books, colourful covers and smells and you almost dont realise the emotional connection that all inspires. Its also similar to how Penny Lane talks about record stores in Almost Famous...something about when you're feeling down just go to a record/ bookstore and spend some time with your friends💜 it can be a home away from home

I loved passion of Dolssa. The ending isn’t my favorite but I love the beginning and middle
I bought 12 Philippa Gregory books starting from The Lady of The Rivers - The Other Queen, I am half way through The Lady of The Rivers and I am thoroughly enjoying it a great mix of Love, murder, war and royalty
I so wish I lived in Canada lol all those books look so good! I just hauled The Hazel Wood this month and I'm really looking forward to reading it :)
Ink and Bone is amazing. I think you will really enjoy it. I despise Romeo and Juliet, but I read Prince of Shadows because I've done some beta reading for Rachel and adore her...not my favorite but definitely interesting. I think you will have fun with it.
I need to read The Nightinggale! I've heard so many great things about it.
I love Chapters because it’s a store for everyone, you get people from all walks of life there. With most stores you have a pretty good guess what someone is there to buy, or they market to a specific kind of person, but chapters is for everyone because anyone can love books. Also I love the smell, my store has a Starbucks built in so we get that coffee smell plus the new book smell, it’s amazing. My Twitter is degraala :)
My favourite thing about Chapters Indigo is the plum rewards! Somehow it gives me validation for spending too many dollars on books (also really enjoy their online deals... 10x the plum rewards points preferred)

why do I love shopping at Chapters Indigo? It's addicting and creative and close to home. It makes me feel like home. It where I bought my first book by myself and found the love for ya books. I do not have a B an N or half price book near me but I grew up with only chapters in my town/city. I literally buy all my books and donate to charity. You can find anything and the employers are freaking amazing. Its a place where I met so many book friends, best friends, and authors. The employers at Chapters are kind, respectful and fun. There was one time I was in Toronto chapters/ indigo and I was on the verge of a panic attack and one employer came up to me and started a conversation about the book i was gripping my hand tightly on so that I could control my breathing and not cry in the store. They did not no at the moment I was on the verge of having but really help me settle down. we talked for 15 mins about books and the need for more support for literacy program for school libraries and it was great. @maddimclark.
Since you like retellings and Shakespeare i highly recommend Speak easy, Speak love by McKelle George which is a Much ado about Nothing retelling set in the 20's... I'm currently reading it and absolutely loving it!!!
I almost picked up The Other Boleyn Girl Thursday! You will have to let me know what you thought about it.
I need to read Simon, and The Nightingale. But first I need to finish 4 other books before I read anything else, lol.

I love Chapter Indigo mostly because it has far more books, for way better prices then anywhere else. I loveeeeeeee that they always have tables (in the store I go to anyways) dedicated to different genres and the best sellers within that genre. I love going to Chapters Indigo, my favourite store is the one next to Rideau Centre in Ottawa. I come from a small French town so we don't have book stores like that one over here (the closest is in Montreal, but only has books in French) so I LOVE going there when I go to Ontario every couple of years !! Love going there because 1. I have gotten to know so many great people there.
2. It’s always so nice to go into the store and just walking around through each section.
3. It’s a great stress reliever for me!! I work at at shoe store and after work I go to the store whenever it’s open ( before or after work) and just spend some moments there.
4. Finally, I talk about books to other people and it makes me happy seeing someone buy a book there cause I know the people work really hard.

I Love Indigo, I shop there all year collects things to donate to the Salvation Army. All the staff know me and show me all the things which have gone on clearance. I was glad to hear that this giveaway was for Canadians but then sad because I don't have Twitter and don't really know what it is.

Indigo is honestly my favorite bookstore. Mostly because of how the staff are just always so nice and helpful, but I feel like, even as a customer, it’s like entering a big family. It’s also very nice that we can always share opinions about books when I go.

Have you read any of the Hogarth Shakespeare books? They pick an established author and pair them up with a Shakespeare play that they retell! Margaret Atwood’s book Hagseed is one of these.

I love Indigo's aesthetic. The one here has a grand piano that many skilled pianists, WHO ARE CUSTOMERS, casually come in and play on, which that just makes the atmosphere extra whimsical. There's also a mini cafe that just has that cozy vibe?? lmao i love it. AND THE STAFF (YES, INCLUDING THE AWESOME CASHIERS TOO) IS PATIENT, THEY TREAT YOU LIKE OLD FRIENDS, AND ACTUALLY KNOW THEIR STUFF WHICH IS REFRESHING. Asking for recommendations and comparisons is always fun like I once had a 20 minute convo with a staff member about the books we've both read and had a friendly debate about ships and plot twists and it was just.... IT WAS GREAT XD

Chapters Indigo has been my happy place ever since I can remember! Just the store's aesthetic soothes my soul the moment I walk in. I loooove the bargain section and the online "Signed by the Author" section (that was the only way I got signed books before I signed up for OwlCrate; authors rarely visit the Maritimes 🙁). The staff is always really nice--whenever they spot me zooming through the aisles with a huge stack of books (looking like an idiot, frankly), they bring me one of those rolling baskets. Sometimes I think of those as "rolling baskets of shame" because getting one means I'm probably going over my spending limit at that point. Oh, well. Also, Plum Points for the wiiiin!

Indigo is my favorite place to be! Every time I walk in it feels like coming home. I could spend hours in the store (I sometimes do!) and I never walk out empty handed. Chapters is the best bookstore in the world, i swear. I lived in Europe for 2 years and never found a bookstore that compares with it. Not only do you get a wide variety of books and the ease to order whats not on the shelf, but you have the most helpful and committed staff members who are willing to give you recommendations in an instant and go hunting for that book that you're dying for!! I love chapters indigo because of all the wide variety of books!! I can literally sit in indigo and read pieces of books for unhealthy lengths of time LOL. I also love the staff picks, because I feel like when I am lacking book inspiration and have no idea what book I want to read next, I can almost always guarantee one of the staff picks will be a book for me

I love shopping at Chapters Indigo because there is always everything i could want there. I have been shopping there for basically all of my books since I was little and as my tastes as a reader have changed, the books I've looked for have always been available. I also love it because the staff picks are a great way to interact with the community and the workers are always super kind!

I love shopping at Indigo because it's the only bookshop I feel like home when shopping there ! It's also the only bookshop close to home where I can find so many english books and can spend hours shopping and always find something else I want! I LOOOOVE INDIGO for so many reasons ! First, it’s the only bookstore here in Quebec that carries that many books in english. The other bookstores don’t have that much selection. Also, the way the store is made, it makes you feel like home. You just wanna stay there all day, reading books. I also LOVE to check out all the different sections: home stuff, notebooks... Indigo always has the prettiest stuff 😱❤️Honestly I’m writing about it and it makes me wanna go 😂 So yeah, Indigo will always be my favorite overall store for those reasons and many more ! I've been living in Canada for almost two months and I have already bought over 20 books at Chapters Indigo! The store is soooooo beautiful and since I come from a country where is really hard to find books in English I was just mesmerized by everything in it. I swear to you I will end up with 70% of all the YA books they have, and they have like... a lot!
Also, there is a GIGANTIC store
literally next my school, which is so amazing (or really bad for my wallet... depends the way you look at things hahaha)

Miss the little local bookstore but Chapters never lets down either. Always feel at home and the staff are super friendly. Chapters is my happy place. When ever I have a bad day at work I spend an hour walking around Chapters (I live by a big store) just looking at the various sections, flipping through books that are super hyped and checking out the housewares, they have some of the cutest dish ware, it's all super cathartic for me.
