  • Let's talk about and show you how to keep your pressure cleaner washer running nice and cool.
Always worried about how quickly you need to run back to your pressure cleaner or are you running long lengths of hose?
It's very dependent on each pressure cleaner, its features and limits. If it has an internal bypass run around and the motor keeps running, then there is a chance of overheating your unit.
Hope the following video helps you at home or within your business.

Any external bypass run around you can carry out this same procedure.

Beaudy !! I’ll give it crack if it lessens damage and overheating issues with the pump. Thanks for your response. 👌👍🇦🇺

I’m new to this. Love the video. I have a 4 GPM / 4000psi pressure washer I just bought. How long can you leave it running without pulling the trigger if set up like this? I don’t like the idea of having to pull the trigger every 30 seconds to avoid overheating. Also, should I run this into a buffer tank or just let it go out onto the ground? Appreciate the help.

Without bypass, to ground or back to tank around 5mins. With gun closed and a bypass to gnd or tank…all day.

Hey mate is it possible to install an external unloader on an an internal setup? Whether this is replacing the internal or installing a secondary? Would love to see a video on this…
I’m new to the industry and have purchased a $3500 pressure washer with an internal unloader on a Bertolini pump (I purchased the Typhoon T4000B)
I’ve only just learnt about the importance of having a bypass and it would help me out a lot and im sure many others. Cheers

I had a guy turn off the water the other day on me when he saw it just running out of my ball valve while I was walked away getting something. I need to do this lol. Thankfully I don't think anything got messed up. It might have been 45-60 seconds from seeing no water to the machine turning off

Fingers crossed, all you can do is run the machine as normal. It was a short period you may be ok.

My dad bought a new one and let my brother use it the first time it was ever used of course he ruined it and I ask my brother a few questions like did you read the Manuel and he says of course. A few more questions and found out he went in ate lunch while letting it run he ruined it. So my dad gets a new one and I ask him could I borrow it he says no and I tell him why my brother ruined and he did not know neither that you cannot let it idle so he lends it to my brother again but not me. Long story short my dad died and he leaves me the pressure washer and of course it has just a little pressure. My brother calls and wants to borrow the pressure washer and I told him that it needs a new pump and he says when will you fix it I said next year so he buys a new one for himself and calls me and says I read the directions I am not going to let this idle. So I ask him can I borrow it and he says fix the one dad gave you. I got all of dad’s equipment, he got dad’s truck.

I just got a new 4040 pump. I’m not familiar with a bypass hose at all. My question is if I have it bypassed and running out on the ground will it not run the machine out of water? Either by being on the trigger or being off and it running out of the bypass hose.

Your garden tap on all the time, so when your pressure gun is pressed all water to your pressure cleaning lance. When you release the pressure gun the water from the tap passes through the pump and drops to the ground. This bypass water on a skid mounted unit we usually bypass back to the tank.

@@BlueTongueIndustries1300884566 I agree. Back to a tank would be best. It just seemed if you had it running out constantly it would run the pump out of water. Thanks for the reply
