  • This video should basically disprove, or at least combat the things Roman Catholics say about Holy Orthodoxy regarding church leadership. If you want me to do a part two regarding more evidence, I will.
Part two will be about the filioque

That’s correct. Many times did Rome offered the east to unify. The best case was the ecumenical council of florence which was attended by the byzantine emperor, patriarch of Constantinople, and representatives of each patriarchate. All fathers of the east and west together with the pope signed the bull of union except one. And the east rejected what was given by the church. The eastern orthodox doesn’t have an excuse what was handed down to them by a council

@@byzantineapologetics My sibling in Christ, Don’t you realise how harmful it is to your evangelization when you defile the other living faithful with names like heretic and blasphemer? Don’t you realise how harmful it is to Anathematize your enemies instead of praying for them, like God willed? God does not want you to Anathematize others; rather, he wants you to forgive and to be full of compassionate and full of endless mercy like his son on Earth. My sibling, understand that even through his harsh tongue, he speaks the truth: The Roman Catholics did not enter schism; it was the Greeks. The true root origins of the Eastern Orthodox Church came from this separation, the very same separation attributed to the pride of the formal Patriarch of Constantinople, Photius. Know that this very same Photius, at the time, was only a layman who was unfamiliar with ecclesiastical studies, he lacked the virtues of a Saint. It was through his ambitions to gain power, he found out that Saint Ignatius, a virtuous and holy man, was deposed from his position under Byzantine Emperor Michael III for mere political reasons. Photius longed to take his place. In his excommunication, Saint Ignatius again and again corrected the errors of Photius. Photius’ lust for power wasn’t eased there; he left the Office of Secretary and, in only six days, was ordained acolyte, subdeacon, deacon, priest, bishop, and finally patriarch by Gregory Asbetas, a person who lived in heresy. After unlawfully obtaining his position, Photius withdrew all of his relations with the pope and became distant from the West. He knew that if the West discovered his actions, they would hold him accountable. Despite Photius’ efforts to keep his position, he was revealed for his true intentions and properly excommunicated and deposed by Pope Nicholas I. In return, Photius excommunicated the entire Roman Church. Through the efforts of Byzantine Emperor Basil I, Saint Ignatius was restored as patriarch. But through the governing of Basil I, Photius reobtained his position as patriarch when Saint Ignatius died and the east and the west signed an agreement to prevent schism. But Photius did not learn from his errors; he never did, and so he was deposed and excommunicated by the Pope yet again. Time came to pass. His successor, Cerularius, had the same ambition and lust for power. Cerularius fought with the Roman Pontiff, Pope Leo IX, over the same errors that the confused Photius conceived; he fought against the filioque and rivalled papal supremacy. Because of the errors of the Patriarch, the Pope’s envoys issued a bill of excommunication, Cerularius, leading to the Great Schism. The west tried and tried to make reforms with the east, even holding two ecumenical councils in the hopes of reuniting with their astray brothers. In both councils, the Eastern Orthodox gave into the demands of the Catholics, even coming to accept the doctrines and beliefs of papal supremacy, the filioque, purgatory, and the Catholic Nicene Creed. The Greeks later came to reject this. Not long after the Council of Florence, when the Ottomans conquered the Byzantine Empire, the Sultan replaced the Patriarch of Constantinople with his own, who forced them to withdraw from their agreements made during the council, and so the East departed from the one true Church. I tell you all of this in the hope of your salvation, that this wisdom may help you realise the full truth of the Great Schism. I’ll pray for you, for you, and for the conversion of many. May the Lord of Peace give you everlasting peace in every place. The Lord be with you all. Amen.

I'll trust the Ecumenical Council of Constantinople III
Session 1: "For this is the rule of the true faith, which this spiritual mother of your most tranquil empire, the Apostolic Church of Christ, has both in prosperity and in adversity always held and defended with energy; which, it will be proved, by the grace of Almighty God, has never erred from the path of the apostolic tradition, nor has she been depraved by yielding to heretical innovations, but from the beginning she has received the Christian faith from her founders, the princes of the Apostles of Christ, and remains undefiled unto the end, according to the divine promise of the Lord and Saviour himself, which he uttered in the holy Gospels to the prince of his disciples: saying, Peter, Peter, behold, Satan has desired to have you, that he might sift you as wheat; but I have prayed for you, that (your) faith fail not. And when you are converted, strengthen your brethren. Let your tranquil Clemency therefore consider, since it is the Lord and Saviour of all, whose faith it is, that promised that Peter's faith should not fail and exhorted him to strengthen his brethren, how it is known to all that the Apostolic pontiffs, the predecessors of my littleness, have always confidently done this very thing: of whom also our littleness, since I have received this ministry by divine designation, wishes to be the follower, although unequal to them and the least of all. For woe is me, if I neglect to preach the truth of my Lord, which they have sincerely preached."
The Apostolic See remains undefiled unto the end
    Amen,

Except that text you quoted talks about the pleroma of the Lord's Bride, His Church you sadly fell off of back in 11th century. Eastern Orthodox remained sole keeper of the Lord's promise ever since.

The operative language here is “has never erred” then “from the apostolic tradition…nor yield[ed] to heretical innovations”
It is should be clear to Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox that Vatican II (one massive deviation and innovation) and the sacraments as undone and reinvented taking from Protestant [heretical] and other traditions, and the suppression of the liturgy, are both just that, deviations and heresies. Read Nostra Aetatae and Lumen Gentium for example and square that with ex ecclesia nulla salvus. I am not arguing against papal primacy, merely saying that the institutional Roman Church has both deviated and strayed from the apostolic tradition at this point.
