I realize the venue is noisy, but even with Air Pod Pros your spoken audio is… at times a bit difficult to discern. There are broadcast, wearable mics that noise reduce much of the surrounding conversation. As to the ‘cue… both places are musts, especially Franklin’s. Aaron has elevated quality BBQ awareness. He is a master.

I love the vinegar bbq sauce too. I am in central Illinois and we had a place called Big Johns BBQ, and they have a home made vinegar bbq sauce that is to die for. I eat it on a sandwich with the pulled pork, and dip the ribs in it, and it is so good I even dip their home made fries in it. That sauce is so good they sell it in big bottles, like half gallon size bottles.

You can also put the pulled pork with the coleslaw and sauce on bread its a Carolinas thing. Liked the Video and love some Texas BBQ

What to do with the white bread and condiments: Once you've eaten most of your BBQ, save a little bit to make a sandwich at the end. Put whichever sauce and condiments you want on it. I prefer white onions and fresh jalapenos (if they have them).

@@staycation0923 I agree....Salt Lick is nowhere near the league of Franklin's . They have an open pit that has a major disadvantage...the moisture escapes so the flavor of the smoke and tenderness is sub par. All of the good stuff escapes into the air. Looks impressive but not a good smoking method. It's just a giant grill and not a BBQ pit. That BBQ needs sauce it's so dry. If you have good Q you NEVER need sauce.

Texas BBQ is all about the smoke flavor. I did not see you guys commenting about the smoke flavor. I heard about moist tender, juicy falling apart etc. All that is texture not flavor. What sets Franklin apart is their smoke. I don't know what kind of wood they use but it is a game changer. As for sauce, in Texas it is just an afterthought. If your BBQ has to rely on sauce, your BBQ is not that good.

As a Texan living in the Austin area there is an issue with Franklin's and that's the wait time. It just isn't justified given the fact that the area is saturated with good BBQ places. Franklin's is great BBQ but is not so much better than Terry's or the Smoke Pitt as to warrant waiting in line for 3-4+ hours. That's just my opinion and my perspective may be different if I lived far away from any good BBQ and was in Austin for the sole purpose of getting BBQ.

I like Burnt Beans BBQ at 108 S. Austin , Seguin is good. It opens at 11 am Thursday thru Sunday I believe. There's a line sometimes but not nearly as long as Franklin's and it beat Franklin as best BBQ in Texas in 2020 according to Texas Monthly. That's Austin's Dinning / Social event magazine.
I say line , but this is all pre-pandemic. If you didn't have to wait in line at Franklin's then they must have made a lot of changes for Covid 19.
In addition there is also Show's if you don't restrict yourself to just Austin , it's in Lexington. However its open only on the weekends I think and there is a line. That's because it has placed #1 in Best BBQ for the past two years. Though I've not eaten there personally.
I believe currently the rankings list Franklin's at #7 & Burnt Beans at #4 of best BBQ in Texas and again Snow's at #1.
