    I didn't know you can't use tap water. I've had mine two years and I have been using tap water. My plant is still green and quite large🤔 I'm thinking about transferring it to soil.

      I've had mine a few years and didn't know that until recently either. I had 2 plants initially and always watered using tap water. 1 got really mouldy quite quickly but the other one has thrived. I've heard that if you leave the tap water out for a day or so the amount of impurities in it lessens so I'm gonna try that from now on.

      They probably use tap water with one of those filters on it,they want you to think all these big plant stores filter there’s or by water big things of water! I have 3 plant stores near me, very high rated ones ! I have been to them and bought from them and like you I use unfiltered tap water and mine are green and thriving to! I have also been in these places when they water all there plants ,some use a hose and some use watering cans ! Never have I seen them with a filter on the tap or big things of store bought purified water! I also have purple clovers and the bamboo! I use tap water I have poneytail palms, money trees, Bella palms and a lemon lime philandenreon one of my plant stores gave me for free off of the original plant! My plants are over 3 years old and I have had no problems and none died! These people also don’t under stand people on a set income have a limited amount of money and have no access to rain water either! 🙄 plus people don’t know what type of water is coming from out of your faucets! If tap water was not good for plants it wouldn’t be good for us either to use, plus there wouldn’t be hoses to water outdoor plants!😂 I live in California where there’s a series drought going on! I also mist my plants with tap water ! Plus if you watch nature videos on some of these places these plants were originally from, plants are exposed droughts and floods to for long periods of time! A good plant store will tell you to care for your plants and get as close to replicating there natural places where they are exposed to Mother Nature not man! 🤨keep in mind man is destroying the earth with his man made chemicals ! Don’t change what is working for you and your plants!

      I have bought 10 to 15 bamboo's (a set) around 2 month back from a nursery garden in pretty good shape. I do not what to check before buying, the only thing i checked was new ones growing. But i found out on the internet (later) that you need to check the roots before buying. If the roots are white then they are healthy. I grow mine in water all along and recently i moved it to the soil for more growth.
      *Do not worry about roots?*
      Do not worry about the roots, just see the leaves. If you started seeing fresh leaves then it is growing. If the roots are white or partially white then it is healthy. If you find unhealthy leaves (dry leaves) just remove that one stem. It will be alright.
      *How do i Maintenance?*
      I have kept mine in my living room for the past 1 and a half month and the room gets pretty hot in the aftertoon, I move the plant to my bedroom everyday and keep it near the opened window to get a early morning fresh air. Then back to my living room around 8am. despite of the terrible heat, tts still healthy.
      *Growing in Water*
      Use Drinking water (no tap water / salt water) and change it everyday. Plants are like us they are living thing and treat it the same way you treat yourself. It will be fine. Growing in water take time and also you need to move to soil after some time. See below.
      *Growing in Soil*
      I have recently (2 weeks back) moved mine to soil. I water (more water) it everyday. They are pretty healthy. I kept it near the entrance of my terrace where it gets direct sunlight in the morning. Out of 12 one of them died and the rest are super fine.

    • @VeronicaFlavor
      @VeronicaFlavor  Před 4 lety +1

      presidentdiddy Hi, I think it doesn’t have to be indirect sun. It’s considered indoor plants in low light if it’s in the container for decorations.You can just put it by the window sometimes. It will grow big like a tree if you put in ground in the soil and gets direct sun.

    • @i.am.king89
      @i.am.king89 Před 4 lety +2

      @@VeronicaFlavor This is very helpful. Thank you! I've been doing it wrong for three weeks and the leaves got dry because I put it out in the fire escape for direct sunlight. I hope I didn't ruin it. I just bought more soil and will follow your instructions
