    The reason why the doors and ally’s are so small was to stop the enemy from storming into the palaces/forts and take them on 1 by 1 or to buy enough time to run while the enemy was struggling through those doors……you’ll see this in most of the forts accross north india

    The shorter height of doorways and windows of the City Palace was an ingenious blend of engineering marvel and common sense back in the day.
    The palace was built as a unique defensive structure against enemy attack, especially that of King Akbar (arch rival of the kingdom of Mewar). The lower entryways prevented enemy forces from barging in bulk numbers and with their swords raised; thereby allowing guards to easily fend off attacks, even against a much larger army.
    These entryways weren't used by the royalty who had secret broader alleys and doors, which are currently all locked for security purposes.
    Also, the stained glass you see in the palace is original (200 years old), which was imported from Belgium back in the day. The reason you see so many glass pieces in City Palace is because this was used as a winter abode (Lake Palace was the summer abode and Sajjangarh Fort was the monsoon abode).
    Being used in winters, candles were placed near the glass pieces which would not just illuminate it, but also warm the glass and generate quite a bit of heat.

    You may also want to check out the Orange City which IIRC is Nagpur in Maharashtra State. "Maharashtra" literally means "great nation". I don't know how orange Nagpur is as I've never been there, but I heard it currently boasts the largest metro system in Maharashtra (bigger than Mumbai's Metro), though I don't know for how much longer as Mumbai is building and expanding it's Metro system very quickly. 😊

    Rajasthan is literally the union of former princely states of Rajputs (warrior class of north and north west India)...
    Jodhpur = Rathore Dynasty
    Udaipur = Sisodia Dynasty
    Jaisalmer = Bhati Rajput dynasty
    Jaipur = kacchwaha Dynasty
    Ajmer and surrounding = Chauhan Dynasty
    And many more...
    Rajasthan ..Raja means king and sthan means place...so it's the place (state) of kings.
