HELLO FROM PANAMA - my 191st country! That means I have only 6 left until I can say that I have visited every country in the world :D
Join me in my 36th episode of my $10 series to see how many things I can get in Panama City's vibrant district called Casco Viejo. To be honest, this city is A LOT more expensive than I imagined -- think New York prices -- so it was a bit of a challenge to find cheap things to buy.
But nonetheless, I had a blast making this video and I can't wait to tell you more stories about Panamanian food and culture over the next 4 days.

I've been to Panama last year and noticed something interesting. If you stray a little from the ''tourist spot'' in Casco Viejo you'll get to the ''real'' Panama, the streets are far less flashy and you'll see way more locals and no tourists at all. The pro side is, you can get better prices on food and other stuff with fewer chances of falling into tourist traps, it may be a bit more dangerous, but it's a cool tip for those traveling on a budget.
Crime against tourists here is very rare, you should be concerned with pickpockets on buses or trains but that's just common sense, I'm Panamanian and I doubt anyone is going to hurt a tourist unless you somehow end up in the worst places. And yes, Casco Viejo hardly has any Panamanians living there, is all for rich foreigners 😂, probably 10% of the people that live there are Panamanians.
Hey, which spots in Panama would you recommend visiting in Panama to get a feel of the authentic culture but as well have beautiful nature? Also what places would you recommend in Panama City?
Bruh, I am panamenian, and Casco viejo is one of those places where everything is expensive😂 But is a beautiful place, i recomend visiting Cocle and Chiriqui, which are very beutifull

Drew.... you went to Casco Viejo which is very touristy area, and things obviously are more expensive. Next time, go to local markets, like the San Felipe Neri, you weren't that far from Casco Viejo, where you'll find good local food and fresh fruit juices, very inexpensive. Also, go to Volcan Barú in Chiriqui closer to Costa Rica, where you'll be able to see both oceans, the Pacific and the Atlantic, on a clear day. Here is the only spot in the world where you can see the sunrise over the Pacific and the sunset over the Atlantic, and Panama's concentration of birds species is bigger than in the entire Northen Hemisphere. So much to see in our beautiful country... hope you come back again. Saludos desde Panama..... Happy traveling!!!

That's my home country! All my family lives there while I'm in the U.S.😥 I've been through Panama Viejo many many times and I dearly miss it. And Panama isnt just a hub for other countries! Its it's own wonderful country!

You are amazing dude , as a child I hate geography (and still hate it) but now when I see your videos it's very awesome to learn about the culture,agriculture , hospitality, etc. The problem with my geography in schoo is that we only learn about 2 countries in the whole year. And that's too boring but when I see your videos there are variations of culture and habitats.

Besides a slight similarity in density and color, casava a potatoes are quite different. I advise people to try it wherever possible, but casava is far more flavorful and versatile than the potato.

I used to visit my Panamanian father in Panama. I remember lots of guitarist/singers in restaurants & they always played nylon string guitars. I also luved how the guy got one one of the lyrics for "Yesterday" wrong, most likely bc English is his 2nd language. Hey, his English is way better than my Spanish. So -->Respect!!!!!.

I was surprised, so I googled Equatorial Guinea and your video was the first to pop up. Cool video, its great to see Panama City being presented. But I think you needed some assistance. You where in the most expensive part of city. A meal at a local fonda (diner) closer to central avenue could easily have been to 2 or 3.50 to the Menu del dia or Menu of the Day. Behind the Coca Cola Restaurant there is a local Panamanian bar that sells tall local Panamanian beer in large bottles for $1.50. Even the bracelet they sold you. In the Chinese wholesalers on Avenida B. the dozen sells for 2 dollars. Hope you come back to Panama, visit a fonda, try local Panamanian beer such as Atlas, Panama, Balboa etc. Very cheap . Even the snow cone raspadado on central avenue would cost about .75 cents to $1.00. Our city has two sides the tourist places are not cheap.. but once you get where us locals go the prices are much lower. Great shots of Panama City.

It warms my heart that people think my country is amazing and that they wanna come visit. I have started to see the good because there definitely is, and put the negative aside. I wanna start seeing the wonders and beauties of my own country before I marvel over the ones in other countries when I get to travel abroad.
The raspado was way too expensive, you could've gotten it for 0.50 or 0.75 cents if it was in another area. The bracelet was the typical price.

I’m Panamanian but I’ve never seen those places he’s been to after years of growing up there, probably because I lived away 10 minutes away from the city and each time I do go to the city it’s always the same place. Now I live in the USA, I am half American too.
