  • In this video, I tackle the challenge of upgrading the brakes on my BRZ with a Brembo big brake kit. With the BRZ being such a popular platform, finding the right brake upgrade was crucial. After experiencing issues with dust boots affecting brake longevity on the stock brakes, I opted for Brembo. Their solution offers larger rotors and pads for enhanced braking performance, replaceable dust boots for durability in all seasons, and let's not forget, it looks absolutely awesome on the car! Join me as I walk through the installation process step-by-step and share my insights on why this upgrade is perfect for the cost-minded BRZ enthusiast. Bought this same kit and waiting for the parts to come in from the US. Taking forever.
Stock brakes were at 400 degrees C at TMP and I don’t have any power adders.

400 degrees is actually not too high, I feel like even some aggressive pads on stock setup can get up to 600-800. Just remember, the very first 1:19.7 to ever be set by a naturally aspirated FR-S on a Tomei EL and simple OFT tune was running OEM calipers with just Project Mu Club Racer pads. I personally didn't even think about a brake upgrade until I went with a super charger.

Please do a review on the ER-1

Absolutely going to do an ER-1 review - so far, so good, they're exactly as JRP told me they were - medium bite, good modulation, and a solid long lasting endurance pad, ER-1 Review in upcoming videos. I have data showing peak 1.45G braking and consistent brake application lap over lap from Aim data. I personally recommend them.

Did rears need an upgrade too or they are fine with this set up?

@@carlozaappaa5427 the rears didn't have a caliper or rotor upgrade, just the pads - running the carbotech xp12 rear and the hawk er-1 pad normalizes the brake bias delta created when there is a change in the front rotor and piston count size. I have really consistent brake performance backed by data, which I will discuss in a future video
