Nobody does it like XG. Period. Once you head down the XG rabbit hole you never turn back like all the other millions of us. I'm old skool and i haven't come across a group with the amount of raw talent and charisma as XG in a VERY long time. Elite vocalists, elite rapline, elite dancers, elite visuals.

yup this is still on repeat since it came out, probably until next Xmas 2024.
& that voice is Chisa. She's the reason I fell in love with XG. Her voice captivated me.

Their fanbase is quite diverse, which is a testament to how far reaching their music is. There were kids, teenagers, adults and even elderly at their Japan concert this year. They announced a world tour next year, hope you're ready!

    First time?
Don't worry, this "I was not prepared for this!" feeling is completely normal with XG. We've all been there, and they do this even to us XG veterans every single time something new drops. So, thank you for your first XG reaction, and here is bit of an executive summary for you and your subscribers ...
XG is short for Xtraordinary Girls, their label is XGALX, which was more or less specifically created for them. Their debut was last year, technically they are still rookies. They are seven Japanese, age 18 to 21 as of now, who are based in South Korea and trained with the KPop idol methods ... to then perform NOT K-Pop, but instead mostly western style 90s/early 2000s rap and R&B oriented tracks. *Modern Old School*, if this makes sense - a quite unique concept. Their main songs are all completely in English. They also venture into 90s/y2k pop and club sounds, and their rapline and vocalists also have separate series showcasing them specifically, XG Tape and XG Vox respectively. Officially there are 4 rappers (Jurin, Cocona, Maya, Harvey) and 3 vocalists (Chisa, Juria, Hinata), but the rappers all can sing as well. XG is quite versatile and covers a large spectrum of genres, but it is all rooted in 90s/y2k style. No two songs sound alike. The mastermind behind all this is Simon Jakops (stage name, JApanese KOrean (he is mixed) Producer Simon), himself a former K-Pop idol.
    Recommended watching:
You may want to check the The First Take edition of this very Winter Without You with live vocals.
Shooting Star (something like the signature song; there is also live vocals The First Take version online)
Left Right (another R&B-ish song that got them on the Rolling Stones magazine's Best 100 Songs of 2023 list)
XG Tape #2 as introduction to the rappers
XG Vox #5 as introduction to the vocalists
Hesonoo & X-Gene (performance video of the two short intro tracks from their first mini album New DNA)
GRL GVNG (aka Girl Gang, first track from New DNA, featuring cyberpunk mermaids and clone armies)
TGIF (second New DNA track ... club sounds with surralistic music video)
New Dance (also from New DNA, more of a relaxed summer vibe)
Puppet Show (final, epic and main track of New DNA)
I obviously left some out, but these are my (subjective) essentials.
If you want to connect the faces, voices and names together, the best way is probably to start with the Tape and Vox series.
For reference, if you stop the vid in that scene where they are sitting on the ledge, frontal shot, from left to right order is: Cocona (rapper, maknae) - Harvey (rapper, vocalist) - Maya (rapper, vocalist) - Jurin (rapper, leader) - Juria (vocalist) - Chisa (vocalist) - Hinata (vocalist).
Welcome to the world of XG, and if you take a dive into their music, you won't regret it. They never miss.

It's great you feel they're so effortless when they perform because in reality they were trained on a brutally difficult level to be able to be this perfect and effortless now...their pre-debut documentary Xtra Xtra is like prettyyy painful to get through but really shows you what these girls have gone through to be where they are now, it's a must
I don't really know what to recommend to you since you said you're kinda familiar with a lot of their title tracks already and even know a lot of the members so I don't know what you've seen or not seen already...
I think I would recommend this next:
    - First they performed this song WWY on The First Take as well as It's Live with a beautiful band arrangement and it eats even harder live if that's possible...they also have 2 behind the scenes for this particular song, the one called XG Days #23 in particular shows the behind the scenes of why they were crying and shocked in the video (it was candid, not acting, their producer and creator Simon surprised them with video messages from their parents in Japan) plus it throws you right into their personalities a bit which, god they're such rays of light and so natural just, best girls, really
    - 2nd I would recommend their XG Move videos which show all of their dancing ability, their VOX videos which show their vocals and all their Cypher videos which show their rapping ability
    - 3rd Then I would start their documentary series Xtra Xtra. It's extremely thorough in showing everything, and I mean everything (I'll leave another comment with basic background so this won't be too long lol )

Chisa Yelling - recreates a scene from Love Letter (1995) Japanese movie where characters husband is lost and never found in a snowstorm in the mountains. She goes there to yell out to him "How are you?". She replies to the echo. "I'm doing fine.", knowing the echo is the only response she will ever get.
Girls crying - they surprise each of them with a video message from their family who they really have not seen for 5+ years during their training.
This XG original song is a unique Christmas gift to us Alphaz and the World

Okay so background and who's who a little:
XG is a 7 member Japanese global group under XGALX entertainment. They are not Kpop or Jpop but X-Pop which is why all of their songs are in English. Their creator is former DMTN member Simon Jakops, you will see his name on everything he also helps write and produce all their songs, flies with them almost everywhere, you'll see him all the time. He himself is half Japanese and Half Korean which is where the name Jakops comes from: he said the JA is for Japan, the KO is for Korea and the PS is for Produces so when you see Jakops on anything that means it's Simon.
All of the girls are extremely talented and do a lot of things I won't mention everything here but you'll learn more as you watch more stuff. All of the members speak Japanese, Korean and English. All of the girls love Hip Hop and R&B. 4 of the girls can rap but ALL of them can sing. ALL of them can also dance. They were trained to be that good. I'll try to put an adjective to explain the rappers roles in the group better (this doesn't mean it's all they can do just to introduce you to them since I can't really put main, lead or sub rapper because they would all be at main rapper level in any typical kpop group):
    - 2:30 Chisa, Main Vocal (she's the one that opened the song with those runs that you said I need to know who sings this lol), Japanese, 21 Oldest Member
    - 2:41 Juria, Main Vocal, Japanese, 19
    - 3:00 Hinata, Lead Vocal, Half Japanese Half Korean (from Japan), 21
    - 3:30 Harvey, Swaggy/Unique Tone- Rapper, Singer, Half Japanese (mother) and Australian (father), 21
    - 3:40 Maya, Fast/Cadence - Rapper,Singer, Japanese (but went to an International School and is the only one really fluent in English), 18
    - 3:51 Jurin, Melodic/Diction- Rapper, Singer, Japanese, Leader, 21
    - 4:04, Cocona, Striking, Heavy Tone- Rapper, Singer, Japanese, Maknae (her and Maya re both '05 line and have known each other since they were little), 18

XG is my Favorite Xpop Girl Group and even the four Rappers can really “Sing 🎤 “. This group is full of “ACES”. The members are kind, gracious and very respectful. The fans “Alphaz” are steadily growing. They have performed “Live” in five Countries and their last one was in their home Country Japan. Directly, following their first Solo Concert in Japan they announced their 2024’ World Tour. I’m an OG and I became a fan right after viewing their first post on the Dance Performance Move1# and so I thought they were an elite Dance Crew. Later I seen a MV Teaser of “Tippy Toes” so I found out about this Japanese Global Group. If you get the opportunity…please review their Documentary Series “Xtra Xtra”…it shows you their Musical Journey with Simon. He’s their Executive Producer and he’s the visionary in creating XG. . Merry Christmas 🎁 2023’. 🙆🏻‍♀️🎄❄️🐺
