one of the top 5 underrated bands ever
Seeing this live is just a whole other experience. First time for me was when they were touring for this very album and I have never seen so many people completely mesmerized by a performance. It was like a whole other world.
Love me some Kings X. I used to jam to them live at Blithe Spirits in Houston in the 80's before they hit big! VERY Underrated!
I have been a big fan since their debut in 1988,Pleiades is my favorite kings x song period,they should be huge.

Seminal rock band. I'm gunna go watch a meteor shower and listen to this three piece. they all sing.
This classic song is just a drop in the bucket of their amazing anthology, but it only gives you a hint of how good they are. It’s too hard to say which album is best though. Their early self titled album is incredible. Dogman is my personal favorite and was the album that they pivoted on with a new producer (Brendan O’Brien) and sounds the most like they do live. Ear Candy followed Dogman and is incredible in its own right. I live in Houston where they are from and I’ve been lucky enough to see them live many times. The whole crowd is full of bands and musicians.
Pyrotechnics? Not exactly. They DO that! But from the Bonham pocket to the layers of guitars, the vocals, the story, never ceases to remind me why I fell in love with this group.

A major strength of King's X is Dug, Ty, or Jerry (alone or all together) bring the vocals. Pleiades is a song I've always liked, but it grew into a top 3 King's X song over the years.

I remember you liking "Not just for the dead" many months ago. Their catalog is very diverse which is really cool for finding gems.

The Pleiades were 7 sisters in Greek mythology and is now a cluster of 7 stars in the Taurus constellation. And here's the thing - I don't believe in any kind of astrology, but I'm a Taurus, and also a Horse in the Chinese calender (all of which fits 😑... I don't care what you're into or what you're doing, but if you try to tell me what to do or be into... yeah. that's a problem. we won't get along. I say it's just a coincidence in my case) Anyway, I've wandered too far from the music, so I'll stop here... but yeah, in the Northern Hemisphere, you can see these 7 sisters in the sky (Justin - when going out at night check first for gators).
this is part of the record... it maybe does not stand alone.. I get that, Ty is nasally for sure, but it is that Beatles thing... they balance out mostly, that record is amazing though, it is hard to pick out tracks, especially this one, that album is a culmination.. give it a listen top to bottom.

You'd probably get into "We Were Born to be Loved" or "What I Know About Love". If not, you may not be a King's X person... and that's fine.
I’ve been a King’s X fan forever. This song is not one of my favorites. The World Around Me, It’s Love, We Are Finding Who We Are, King, Shot Of Love, Black Flag, We Were Born to Be Loved, Black the Sky are among my favorite tracks.
I like Ty Tabor singing better, but like Doug too.
Man I know I’m late on your reaction…… this song is an album-song, maybe not the single song that will knock you out or convince you to place this band on your go-to list. Maybe there isn’t any 1 song of theirs that does that. To me, it’s been more of an album or show type thing.
Agree NOT ONE OF MY FAC KING’S X SONGS … they have so many different styles, but some songs you should check out our number one - Dogman video, it’s love, the groove machine, pillow, pray, move, shoes, & visions, ‼️‼️💯💯
Please listen to them some more and please don’t judge dogs bass skills off this song, which was meant to be simply an undergarment for ties, crazy guitar solos, which I’m surprised you didn’t appreciate if he’s a super underrated guitar player!!

The vocal reminds me a LOT of Neil Morse of Spocks Beard. And I'm with JP -- I have had tons of people go on about how awesome Kings X is and I've yet to hear anything that would make me agree with them. It's all very good, but... dunno, but something is missing for me.
Not a big King's X fan but I feel they have much better songs than this. I like Doug's vocals much better than Ty's.
