You could run these type of comparisons in, say, solo H5 MKB. Much less random variability between runs.

Holy cow level I needed to see this. Ive been playing less than a month and have very few qualms with spending a bit of money solely because I'm having such a blast with the game. I'm below paragon 100 but have more than 4500 base damage so going into hell 2 and even some hell 3 content is a ton of fun. Enemies just melt. I've noticed players higher level than me some even double my lvl with less base damage and always wondered how much of a difference my 4 star gems and my 5 star sleeping bile are really making compared to if I was running 1 or 2 star gems. This video was perfect thanks man.

Today I've run a few dungeons with a 7k ress whale and it felt pretty sad because my 1200 ress I was so proud felt like nothing

Oh you definitely notice the whales in dungeons. Had a 6.5k reso DH and he was more efficient than if we had a banner up all the time. Disgusting amount of dmg he put out.
On another note, my 2k reso got matched against a 7k reso in bg today. Blink and I got deleted. Was..fun.. for him.
Necro question:
What are the best reforge bonuses for a summoner? Pet dmg, Primary, Attack Speed? Does Beneficial Effect Duration work for your pets, for example curse? Does skill dmg effect your pet dmg?
family bonuses i like hydra obviously. and tremor / veng / ravager. for bonuses i like summon damage increase, attack speed, primary, beneficla effect. effect doesnt buff your pets only your buffs.
@@DMTVClips Thx for the reply. The question is not much about the family bonuses, but about what are the 3 best stats to reforge on your gear as a summoner.
I'm not sure if you can do it with what you have in your bag and I wouldn't spend money lol, but can you show same res with 1-2* gems as that would be a much better comparison. Just make a build with around 1500 with 5* and with 1-2* mixed in and see if there is any difference as if you aren't trying to push high res you can get more bang for your buck out of the lower class gems. As always I appreciate your time and effort.
Although I totally agree. This will actually depend on your class. Some classes are fine with 2* gems. Some really need that Blood soaked Jade. Or whatever other 5*.
I totally agree as well I think there are alot of options for builds depending on playing style, and class. I've said since the inception of the game to build your character for you, I find the most fun in fine tuning my character to fit me in any game I play. I am a necro and no one uses what I do LMAO but it works great for me l.
lvl 10 1-2 stars gem can be better than lvl 4-5 5 stars if you factor in awakening even if a little lower resonance

The awakening of a gem is pretty beast. Having slower energy consumption basicaly frees 1 more gem slot for my Barb, cuz i use the trickshot gem, which means more dmg :D. Sux that the downing echo is p2w only...
For PVP, higher res is critical.

but if you try that with different classes u may see a change in that

yeah i changing class a lot. and i can say that wiz is very good for pvp. but for farming, necro is more convenient imo

Completely f2p here, but the only reason I would wvwr.change that is to awaken gear. Hopefully they change that. However if I ever reach a 10 star I'll just wait till I get a 5 star and swap it out

U didn't even mention the bonus on the gems, with higher resonance means higher level, a lvl 5 fervet fang is stronger than a level 3, increasing more damage....

for pvp, wizard is op. even in quite low reso (under 1k) like mine, still managed to get in the top three, even above those with higher res sometime. But for farming, necro is way op thay wiz cmiiw.
From my understanding, resonance doesn't have a direct impact on combat rating, but does effect damage and life directly. Hence why the test is taking longer with lower resonance. A jump from 3k resonance to 350, is a huge damage loss.
Upgrading your gems increases cr. A small amount but adds up.

you should have made a comparison with rank10, 1* gems. on all awakened gear. that is much cheaper to achieve than a 3k resonance. but which one would actually be stronger??? the 900resonance with 6 awakend gear? or even a 960resonance, with 6 awakend gear + 12 gem resonance bonus? OR all rank 5 or 6 5stars gems. which is a the step that medium spenders will not go over?? its also interesting to note that all 1*star gem, rank 10, with extra bonuses, give a + 18% PRIMARY ATACK DAMAGE, and a + 12% SKILL DAMAGE. then most of the awakening will add either +10%damage on a skill, on 10% cool down. so the gameplay could be INSANELY modified with those cooldown modifiers.
that is the most important comparison in my opinion.. thats the real truth about spending!
I only use 1 star gems because it's UNBELIEVABLE the amount of gems you need for 2 star and especially 5 star. I'm F2P, there's no way in hell I can grind that much and I refuse to spend money on games so yeah... (2.9k CR).
Im f2p & you can get a high combat rating. im at 6.5 k and res in the 700 .
Upgrades cost too much needs too many gems that needs to be way lower better value for money if value for money was better more people would spend and maybe enjoy the game more
For pvp at higher levels resonance does not hold a candle to secondary gem stats (eg potency, armour pen). My crusader with over 200k health gets deleted in a couple of seconds by sweaty monks, wiz and DH that bought out the market early $$$$$...If you are not in the highest MMR bracket as melee, be glad...trust me

You just scratched the surface of what resonating gem slots will give you. I would recommend you do a video on this and walk people through what you gain.
When you use the Dawning Echo, it allows you to add 2 additional 1* gems that go inside the gem that you resonated. You can rank those up like any other 1* gem to increase the power of the 1* gem.
To start, you get a 7.5 percent buff to your Equipment Base Attributes. Now, I drop in a Trickshot Gem. My resonance goes from 150 to 151. Everytime I rank up my Trickshot, I get an additional point of resonance and that 7.5% buff also goes up by 0.05%.
When I get the Trickshot to rank 5, the other gem slot opens up. The other gem that goes in is the Pain of Subjugation. At this point, I start to rank it up also.
When I get a total of 10 ranks between the 2 gems, I get another buff. My primary attack damage is increased by 3%. At this point, the Everlasting Torment is at 160 resonance. I continued to rank up the Trickshot & the Pain of Subjugation.
When I get both gems to Rank 10, I gain another buff: Skill Damage increased by 2%. My Everlasting Torment has 170 resonance. There is also a damage & life buff. It isn't advertised, but if you remove any of the two gems, you will see a drop in resonance, life, & damage.
What is important to remember is that you no longer have to waste inventory/stash space for gems you are saving for gem fragments. You can dump them in the two extra gems & they work for you while you are waiting on that 5* dup to drop. Those two gems are worth 402 gem fragments when maxed out. Add in the original gem and you have 603 gem fragments right there when you are getting your 2* or 5* to higher levels.
This happened with me today. I had a 5* copy of Zwenson's Haunting drop. The Pain of Subjugation gem I was ranking up had enough gem fragments to provide what I needed to raise my Zwenson's Haunting to Rank 4. I now have 90 more resonance than I had yesterday. Did I mention that I have 39 Telluric Pearls?
Eventually, I'll have another 5* dup drop, & I'll be ready to rank up another one.
It helps to look at all of the systems holistically. There are many ways to gain power in D:($).
You seem to neglect the fact that you need dupes of your 5* gems to upgrade at certain points. Not gem fragments, but another gem. From lvl4 to 5 it's 5 dupes. Gl with getting 5 of them even if u have the gem frags
But realistically is to be at least 700-1000 resonance. Shouldn't be this big of a difference.
COMBAT RATING is for DG/FIELD/CHALLENGERIFT (PVE), while the RESONANCE is for PVP.... Even though you are low resonance as long you have same stats( STR/INT/ARMOR/ARMORPEN/POTENCY/RESISTANCE).. you can compete with the WHALES/HIGH RESO... :) try it on BG not on Chal.rift bruhhh
F2p since launch and today I got my first 2/5 star gem..
If you play very active you‘ll hit the pitty every 1,5 months so you‘ve done something wrong. Let alone with the platinum you should’ve been able to buy a coulple of 5stars
Im a 1.5k reso guy using mage. Having fun against whales in BG. Honestly its not that bad. My only problem is when all whales are all on one team only and your team has none

you're seeing zwens for the big 30k ish damage. but the difference in damage is using firestorm combo, which guarantees a orange level crit. This gives us a consistent baseline. thats the 4000-5000 damage you're noticing consistently orange numbers on the first, vs approx 7000 in arcane wind firestorm procs. this was explained in the video. There is a significant damage in everything from firestorm, disentgrate, meteor smash etc. If there was zero damage difference in skills from me increasing 6k to 9k damage dont you think that would be weird and concerning?
None of these comparisons really matter when it comes to time as each run is very randomized on enemy locations within Challenge Rifts & Elder Rifts, sometimes mobs are more spread out, sometimes they're closer and in bigger packs, sometimes you run into more magic & rare monsters and the boss at the end can be the difference between the fight taking 5 seconds to taking longer. I would of rather'd a comparison done with solo'n dungeons as mob locations are static and the same every run and most rares or magic mobs can be skipped to avoid hindering the time the run takes.
But hey... Blizzard ain't selling Items 🤣🤣

The res gap is real and it is ruining the game. When 2k res people have to pvp against 7k res it ruins the game for the little guy. I dont understand why tier 1 cant fight tier 1 and let the whales battle each other
That is what they pay for. I agree its too much though, if it didn't matter as much blizz wouldn't make as much money.

In the meanwhile, they keep watching your only content which is diablo immortal. I think this video was not made with good intentions like in old times.
