The best way to upgrade gems as F2P is 1) Make an Alt 2) lvl that alt to atleast Paragon 1 for easier time grouping 3) run dungeons with a group of 4 (preferably Tomb of Fahir) and obtain 12 sellable normal gems per day 4) sell those normal gems for 400 plat each (rubies maybe less) that will get you 4200+ platinum a day 5) buy all the CHARMS that show up on the hilts vendor on both pages roughly 12-15 charms a week 6) sell those Charms for 2500 plat each on the Auction House (youll get about 1.5 extracted charms per week to sell) 7) Cap Embers from Elder rifts and purchase a Purple crest, also buy the free weekly purple crest after doing raids, 8) On your main you want to buy 1* gems off the AH when there cheap 9) take the 1* gems on your main and post them on the Auction House for the max price possible 10) swap to your alt and buy that 1* gem, meaning your main just sold a 1* gem for max price and will get the platinum 11) do this every week until your alt has 0 platinum 12) when the gems your alt buys have the AH CD gone (2 day resell CD) sell them for 400 platinum back to your main (this is the Platinum shuffle) rinse and repeat now on your main you can copy steps 2 through 7 this will mean your main and alt is earning roughly 40k platinum a week and your alt is able to transfer 35,000 plat back to your main each week, giving your main a total of 75,000 platinum each week. save up for 2-3 weeks and buy a 4* gem, continue doing this till you have 6 gems that are 4* quality. once thats step is achieve start spending on that platinum on gem fragments/power to start ranking up each gem. This method is without question the best way to get to 1k-2k and eventually 3k resonance as 100% F2P player. The More alts your willing to make the quicker this process goes (3 alts = 105k platinum A WEEK) but again even 1 alt is 35k a week minimum and 140k additional platinum to your main a month.
Good info and certainly true it’s just a lot of work when you start creating alts to grind as well as your main character that’s why I didn’t recommend it lol. But for anybody that likes the grind this is great
