  • In this video, we replace the input shaft, pulley, fan and transmission belt on a Scott S1642 lawn tractor. In my case, the pulley was the most worn component.

    Outstanding Video - I’ve done so many of these over the years and watched a lot of tutorials but you’re the only one who explained why the shaft sometimes won’t align with the hole in the pump - that would be by moving the shifter lever

    The failure of the fan pulley against the splined shaft is due to fretting corrosion. Can be avoided by coating both oj the mating parts with a heavy moly grease or gluing the two together low strength loctite.

    I *think* you may have forgot to install the C-clip on the new shaft, the one that you said that you didn’t need to remove from the old shaft.

    Left tire has some concerning wear. Almost makes me wonder if the axle is bent.
