The mock-up stage shows you know your craft and know what you want. P.S. Good to see the inspector in uniform this week.
Matt is "Honey Munchkin" now huh? lol Love your channel guys. Matt is an expert builder and it's fascinating to watch him work. A shout out to his Mom and Dad for helping so much. A special shout out to Janneke for her excellent videography and editing skills which make this all possible for us to view. And of course to the Inspector for keeping them all on track.😾
"You get what you inspect, not what you expect" as the saying goes. Inspections aren't fun, but they work. 🐱
I miss my Mom she died January 14th 2020.❤
Sorry to hear that.
@@timwoods603 thanks
I raced Fireballs myself in my younger days. Now I critique Utube projects and just truly appreciate Matt's attention to detail and the weekly hours spent on Duracell. The changing room looks perfect!
"now I critique utube projects" LOL!
I believe Honey Munchkin is gonna stick❤ and yes a bloopers real some day would be fun!
I'm liking the little bloopers added, it lightens everything nicely, fun
I also am following the Tally Ho project. I enjoy the contrast between the two boats and the process. Keep up the good work.
Can we please give a shout out to Janneke for all the hard work on and behind the camera?
The quality of the videos is getting better and better. Without this we wouldn’t be able to follow all of this.
Thank you!!
The hanging locker should be hinged on the left side, not right.
It would be much easier to access when sitting next to it, as you would be able to just reach over to get something out or put something in, as apposed to standing up to do it.
Also at the end those are *Fireballs* not Firebirds.
Love the channel! Design note: if something looks like a seat, quacks like a seat, and feels like a seat, IT WILL BE SAT ON. (Another way of saying that unless you significantly alter the countertop next to the ACTUAL seat, then the stateroom has TWO seats.)
totally! We realized that after Janni immediately sat on it! :)
Matt, your skills continue to amaze me. I can hear the waves lapping up against the boat as you and your beautiful wife sail off into the sunset.
I think mom deserves a LifeTime Crew Member Plaque before the Launch.
"My name is Honey-Munchkin. Follow along as I turn Duracell ..." 😱🤣
yes!🤣-janni
Funny!
Honey Minikin, that boat has gone a big way since you had to walk a plank to get in it last spring. It is looking better all the time.
I think your skills are well polished doing fiberglass now.
Oh man Janneke's humor killed me, this week was hilarious 🤣😂🤣
Your editing of the videos is top notch, beautiful videos that flow so effortlessly. Really enjoy the content.
Looking very good. You are very lucky to have a mom that works as hard as she does. A great family project.
There are few things in life more rewarding than productive teamwork. Another great episode and I love your humour Janneke, especially with a response like that from Matt. Good show.
Ha ha! I love that "Honey Munchkin" wasn't edited out. The bits of humor are spot on.
Love the two berths with small dressing area, great design and very clever use of space.
Loved the fun humour of this weeks video,I'm not going to mention you being called 'Honey Munchkin'. I appreciate its too late but I think Janneke got it right when she sat on the unit, I felt it would have been better to have made the seat fit cross the whole width, giving you more storage and larger seating area. Who am I to make judgement to such a skilled boatbuilder.😃
Great job at story-telling this week.
Much respect and admiration to Judy. Even when my mom was with us she would not have been able to climb those steps etc let alone participate. You’re very lucky Matt.
The thumbnails just get better and better! This week's thumbnail was super inviting
That weather is what I had here in NE Scotland all day today. It has been a day to lounge indoors, with the heating on and lots of chocolate cake to hand.
Your state room looks like a much better space than the coffin berths.
Matt you attention to detail and vision is second too none. Awesome work ! Duracell is going to be a beautiful yacht
This channel means so much to me!
I look forward to these episodes each week. They’re a true inspiration.
Can’t wait for more!
what a nice thing to say. glad they bring you joy!
It’s starting to shape up, this interior makes a massive difference. It is going to be awesome, bravo to all that helped, moms is a gem.
Nice work! Also nice to see the inspector at work again ;)
Love the progress! But that door to the hanging locker-it's going to be opened the other way, right? RIGHT?! RIGHT!!!
O C double D🇧🇻
Nice video. It's great to see such progress. Also i appreciate the teamwork displayed. Thanks for the video 😁👍😻
I come here for the boat building, but to be honest, Janni's mastery of Davinci Resolve intrigues even more. The videos keep getting better and better. Any chance Janni would like to do a "Video Special - Behind the Scenes" short film discussing her video mastery?
thanks so much....I'm far from a master, but that is kind of you to say. Yes, perhaps sometime I'll talk more about that part of the project. I think what works so well for me and Matt is that we are partners and work really well together on the vids-it's very collaborative! -Janni
I like the idea of mat having a little gopro which he occasionally interrupts your editing in the same way you sneak in to see what he's up to.
I used to live in BC and i really enjoyed the shots of rain and trees in the video.
oh i love this dog, smiling dog. Watching Matt fitting big pieces into places is super satisfying, it's just like giant puzzle
Thank you guys for recently adding coverage of the painstaking materials prep work. It's great for future builders to see that yes, you will spend nearly a day just cutting out fabrics and plastics for a large lamination job :0!
And that video creation takes a lot more time that even meals preparation. It truly takes a village to do this big work. Love how you give the true picture of building. Go Team Duracell!
it does indeed. thanks for your encouragement!
No - That’s the look of a man who knows how lucky he is to have such a supportive team.
Fabulous look at the behind the scenes work of editing, cooking meals and all the stuff needed to keep this project alive and moving forward, fabulous. The state room looks incredible from an empty space to a fully functional room. Every week I look forward to the many changes taking place and it just brought me back to the original Duracell and how now she is looking so much different from then til now, you guys are doing an inspiring job with this project. As always sending positive energy .....Neil ☘😊
thanks, Neil, and happy new year!
Happy New Year Matt and to you and all your helpers. "Honey munchkin", a very nice term of endearment 😀. Your project is coming along so nicely all credit to you and the team. Cheers from a New Zealand summer . 😎 PS love your choice of music.
Wonder if adding deck prisms would help with some natural lighting for the stateroom areas would work? Natural light help keeps the mold away ;
excellent work, love that ya mum helps once a week, don't forget to get her to sign the inside somewhere, you all should, including the odd paw prints family dogs - oh and that inspector putty tat - will she willingly join the crew one day
watching you working late into the night reminds me a bit of me, once the bit is between the teeth, your away submerged deep in work, i often find that i just need to finish one more thing and that one and tidy up, and see it was 7pm when i did that, thinking i done an hour, and then find its nearly 10pm and i still have 45mins drive home - and then there comes the day of doom, i don't want to play, had enough, need to see friends and family and unwind
Great video! An idea for extra storage: the roof of the changing room could have a small cubby. like the old wooden school desk, that opened from the top. And would be accessible from the dog house. A secure place for laptops , charts etc...
Like both of your work! And all the helpers as well🎉
Happy New Year! Better call it a cathouse with the "inspector" around! 🤣 Great job on making those full size templates as it helped out a lot fitting the panels in place. Can't wait to see what it looks like all buttoned up.
Matt, you are so talented in the epoxy build! I measure three times, Cut once, and it doesn't fit. About the 4th time I cut the part, I go back to the first one I discarded and try to make it fit. Then I get disgusted and work on another project that I haven't completed. Then I lay down and read. Janni, good job on the edits and humor. It is hard to weave the story and make it coherent. And Matt's speed on the build is phenomenal. Judy needs more airtime and speaking parts. I always look for her to show up.
I see the Inspector is easing into 2024 in a most leisurely way. Good to see Judy getting some camera time this week. Thanks for the video.
yes, she is recovering from her long holiday...on the couch
Awe little Honey Munchkin acting all bashful. 😂😂
what a woman!
editing and cooking!?
it's an elect few who really know. When you do a thing right, it's as if you've done nothing at all.
[chefs kiss]
Quick note I’m 10 minutes in would it be an idea to highten the seating area to be level with the top of the draw and make sure that top side can hold enough weight ? And maybe could even create a place then to hold 1 pair of shoes under it ☺️
I love the state room, but almost feel that the seating area will be to small to actually sit on ☺️
Crushing as per usual. Hard working people getting stuff done.
Your project is really coming together nicely. The videos are always done so professionally that it makes your progress shine.
I have watched you from the beginning and this is the first episode that I have seen Matt smile and even chuckle, thank you for making your Honey Munchkin smile
There is something very attractive about the idea that there are entire rooms on the roll.
Hm… would love daylight from the top into the staterooms if possible :-) love your process so calm and steady! Are you affected from the freezing cold there over? Brrrrr.
Building the 'Cat House' has to be one of Matt's best to date
Nice boat work Honey Munchkin & kudos to Janne for yet another great edit.
Filming, editing, cooking, cleaning, other household tasks and boat work that’s a long day for everyday .
Wonderful ...thanks. I love your channel 👍🏻
I initially subscribed to this channel for the build and I enjoy that but you two and your interactions really put a smile on my face 😊
Honey, muchkin literally made me lol. Great job cant wait to see this boat sail!
Haven't been watching for a while but looking like you are progressing nicely with the interior. Nice, keep it going.
Honey Munchkin....that's a special reveal.
Happy New Year Matt and family from New Zealand. I look forward to another year of your fine efforts and subtle humour... 👍😊
Hi guys, I really appreciate Matt Mum and sometimes Matt Dad for coming down and helping she is just a wonderful lady. You can see the love she has for doing what she does and just loves you both so much , and I love honey munchkin nickname for Matt LOL. He wasn’t very happy ha ha ha ha ha ha anyway it’s good to have a bit of fun when you doing all this hard work. Keep up the good work love and appreciate you all cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺👨🏻🦽
Somehow you always manage to surprise me with how well thought out your builds aee
HONEY MUNCHKIN!!!
Matt said No very very quickly to being called that but I think it’s going to stick around if he’s not careful.
Y’all are too funny.
lol 😂
i'm afraid so! -Janni
Great work Matt, a very good filming!
Another top notch video and build , it really is all coming together in the cat house 😂, Graham
Looking good Honey Munchkin. Love ya work. You always invigorate me to go and work on my little 20 footer. BTW, if anyone knows anything about a Challenger 20 trailer sailor, I'd love to hear about it.
Nice work, Matt, your skill with fiberglass is top notch, Janneke, you do great camera work. My thought is that that cabinet in the changing room should be strong enough to sit on because you know people will sit on it.
yep, we realized that too ! :)
Great episode! Keep rolling Duracell team!👍👍 Keep them on track Inspector! 🐈🐈
Thanks for something every Wednesday to look forward to. Production of the videos has really gotten good. Keep up the great content guys.
for the pull out draws you should consider self closing sliders, you don't need to add a lock to keep the draws closed
Snow on the way in PNW!
I was almost hoping you guys got stuck there so we could go on a proper mission further out from camp while there.
11:10. OmG, Iris is so adorable!!
Looks very good. So much thinking and planning… head hurts.
This is really coming to reality, the camera shot above the "cathouse" looked really good, great job !!
Waist of valuable space!
Y'all work so well together !!!! Love your Mom !!!
I want to be the first that took "cathouse" in the totally not intended way you said it. I also had a good laugh.
Coming along nicely
I hope to be so fortunate having several supportive helpful and creative souls when I start my project. I have to sell my property first and then ... First things first. Happy 2024 !
How hard was it to get the entire boat leveled? And how often do you have to re-level it?
i used the jack stands to get it level. it's pretty close and it hasn't come out of level.
@@TheDuracellProjecthow is "level" defined with boats? Nothing is really straight. I have always wondered this
Love you Guys!! My Favorite CZcams Channel!!!
aww, thanks!
Great to see the next project coming together
Great show guys the boat is looking great perfect set up for the dog house good to see a bit of humour creeping in honey bunny 🤣🤣🤣 laughter is a cure so more of it please 🙏
So exciting to see this amazing project!
Looking like a real cruiser, more every week. Like it
Happy New Year, your seat it's smaller than plane seat for me.
Nice work aloha from Hawaii! From a long time subscriber!
Kudos on your excellent taste in soundtrack music.
Really coming together!
Great progress Duracell team!👍👍👊👊
I love all the details you send time on! Tip. Like. Looking forward to the next video. BR from Germany.
stateroom sounds so grand! I need one
Very Exciting, loved the last shot showing entering the stateroom..great vision Matt!
"Honey Munchkin", great name for the boat!
great idea!
Looking crazy good guys, so much space below deck... could almost have a disco😂 .. going to be special.
Stateroom looks quite spacious .... compared to almost any room on our 30ish foot boat
The design is really taking shape. Must be a relief seeing it come together. When I was involved in typographic design work, straight and square, was often tweaked slightly to make things more visually appealing depending on size and layout. A centered graphic treatment was rarely if ever exactly on center.
Carry on.
I really like your attention to the details.
Beautiful...
I have really enjoyed watching this project. The boat will be amazing when it’s finished. I’ve noticed the benches just inside the cabin are somewhat high off the floor. Have you considered raising the floor and creating storage underneath that is accessible by each stateroom. Perhaps drawers located on the inside walls.
we'll get to that in a future ep! problem with raising the floor is it reduces head room so a tall person would not be able to stand.
Looking awesome!!!
