- I really like these two, and the development of their relationship. This has probably been done before, but have a video showcasing some of their best moments. Enjoy.

The world took everything from Joel, so Joel took everything from the world.
That’s a nice way of putting it 👌
Oasis stole a comment from someone, so that someone will one day steal a comment of Oasis
And now abby took joel and hes never coming back
Joel took nothing from the world. Its next to impossible to create a Vaccine for a Fungal infection and the Fireflies would just use it to benefit their cause. Nothing else.
@@oasis6342 It would take years if not decades of research to make a vaccine. And how exactly are the fireflies going to mass produce it? How are they going to distribute it? They are basically in shambles at that point to the extent a one man rampage caused them to more or less completely collapse so they probably would have been wiped out before they got anywhere.
ellie is the kid you just want to have for a lifetime. i totally understand what joel feels. i would do what joel did either even if it sacrifices humanity.
kelly smith yeahhh, and anyways humanity was already lost, so much so that joel's biggest enemies were the humans, not the clickers
humanity already took his baby girl once, he won't let that happen again.
I like the bond between the two, don't get me wrong, but I think the Walking Dead did it a little bit better.
@@heyyouhaveaniceday2055 i agree humanity was long gone after 20 years after shit hits the fan why is the fireflies want to save it and it a giant waste of time
@@isaywhateveriwantandyougot7421 never saw it. they did a relationship like that in there?
The voice acting for Ellie was incredible
That’s Ashley Johnson working her magic!
I mean it was great during Joel's death scene but damn his death wasn't properly handled
Yeah. It's Ashley Johnson, she played Gretchen from Recess, Terra from Teen Titans, and Tulip and M.T./Lake from Infinity Train.
@@lisettegarcia7013 Also Gwen Tennyson from Ben 10 alien force and Ultimate Alien
I just hear Gwen
Joel is such a dad and i love it
Ellie never felt to have a dad but with joel she does and Anna with be so proud of Joel but for Marlene just no you kill a 14 year old
Joel is such a dead and i hate it

Reversal Off just don’t spoil it for anyone dude
@@joeboi3462 anyone who is watching TLOU videos and hasn't yet played part 2 should know what theyre getting themselves into.
I think the “baby girl” was when Ellie officially became Joel’s second daughter.
umm if u took DNA sample u could confirm that she is not his daughter. pls stop this nonsense
@@SoyAntonioGaming she isn’t obviously his real daughter, but after everything that happened between them, they had a good enough bond that she could be considered his “second daughter” :)
@@ellierainford4286 or she could be his Robin just like Batman & Robin, this is more accurate.
@@SoyAntonioGaming yess
@@ellierainford4286 this could be the main story for the Last of Us 3:
After the death of Joel and Ellie's failure to kill Abby, she returns to Jackson where she claims to be Joel's daughter in order to inherit all his money, which pisses off Joel's brother Tommy who knows he should inherit the money. There will be a court trial (in the style of Ace Attourney) where there in the end Tommy wins and inherits the money, but he also likes Ellie and adopts her but then dies so in the end she gets the money. The End
“Everyone I have cared for has either died or left me. Fucking- except for you!”
“Joel, get up! Please, stop! Stop! Get the fuck away from him!”
I guess Ellie really does lose everyone.
plus dina and jesse T0T
Maria tommy Dina all of Jackson her kid u dumb or something
And at the end, she loses her dingers, so she cant even play guitar... This game is something else... It tears me aparat every time! And I fuck*ng love it
Hell, dina left her too.
@@Pablostablo69THAT WAS WHAT GOT ME
Last of us 2 is that "bad dream" Joel kept having. We just witnessed his dream. This thought helps me get over it pretty quickly. :)
Yes! The dream sucked big time! Joel and Ellie are safe and secure in Tommy’s place, she’s progressing well with the guitar ☺️
@@GeorgeMcCauley she's also learned how to swim taught by Joel, now they are probably swimming together in a lake near Tommy's bunker
For real
This is so comforting thank you
This best be true
The characterisation in this game is rock solid. It's understandable why Joel is initially cold to Ellie, the loss of his daughter, 20 years of trying to survive and fighting on both sides as he put it. He's emotionally bottled up because he has to be to survive, he dare not let himself get attached to anyone, but the journey him and Ellie go on changes all that.
The scene where they're walking amongst the ruined coaches on a flyover after Ellie has escaped David, she's very distant and not with it. She had to grow up quick in this world, but after all she has been through her childhood innocence has been lost. These subtle moments are what make The Last of Us amongst the greatest games ever.
curious, what's your opinion about sequel?)
i love how joel said "now ellie that ain't for kids" with audible fatherly instincts when she started reading that magazine
Who's here after crying because of the last of us two
Never been so emotionally attached to a game before, it hurt 😔
and what a shitshow it is.
Yes, I’ve been crying over what they did to the second game!! I had to come back to the original to remember the good times 🥺
You’re not alone
My way of coping is that all the events happen after ellie smokes weed so i think all of it is not real.
Right after killing David you feel good kinda like... Justice was served, but the game does a fantastic job with your feelings, immediately whenJoel arrives, you feel relieved, and then when Joel and Ellie hug each other , calling Ellie baby girl, you feel happy and sad .... This rollercoaster of emotions is what makes this game a true masterpiece
You get 69 likes now.
Right? I like how the game balances everything and makes the game seem grey. The second game is just constant blackness and misery, no balance.
And then the sequel 🙏🏻😬
Imagine if when david and ellie is knocked out we flashbaxk to david talking to his wife and children helping his people and being a good person
@@chelseykate14 what sequel? The hell you on about boy?
Here to cure my Depression after the sequel.
sequel was beter, it had more story and ammo
@@SoyAntonioGaming in terms of visuals and gameplay? Absolutely. In terms of stories? Nah, they killed the game with the sequel tbh.

Nice thick Memes he didn't deserve that death at all. If he were to die, it should've been near the person he loves instead of in the hands of some she-male.
@@alysssabear yeah, like a heroic death I'd love that if Joel's dies saving others than getting killed in a hands of Abby
My favourite line in the game has to be, "We don't have to do this. You know that right?" At that point, it was clear that Joel saw Ellie as a daughter and that he wasn't gonna abandon her at all costs. He was willing to give up the creation of a vaccine just for Ellie. Other than the ending, that scene is probably the one that stuck with me the most.
I played this game years ago and forgot how fun their dialogue is, real feels
My favorite part is when Henry abandons Joel. Ellie, who was already in safety, jumps back down to join Joel in danger. Really sold her to me
This game you felt the bond between these two. So beautiful. In the second game you just feel so much hate and emptiness. There’s no love between anyone.
That's the point, and that's why both games are amazing.
@@ellie8784 no

God, I miss Joel so much. I loved the relationship he and Ellie had, it was something so special. This game is a masterpiece.
22:40 still the best moment in gaming history.
Fact
Everyone that i have cared for has either died or left me... everyone except you. Oh boy looking back at TLOU2 it must’ve hurt so much for Ellie🥺
Joel is one of the best characters I’ve ever seen in games... I’m just gonna pretend the sequel didn’t happen
lets just pretend that the dude that died in the sequel was Ellie's brother and not joel , joel was busy doing other stuff such strangling clickers
What about Arthur Morgan?
@@oracletv1557 she said "one of"
I always love their father daughter relationship. Still do.
The entire scene with the fireflies feels very different with perspective. Two things I note immediately - 1) Joel was maybe more ruthless than he had to be. Maybe they'd have come after her and maybe not. I feel he might have gone too far; 2) The entire hike back to the settlement afterwards, you can feel the discomfort he's feeling - he's talking more than he used to. He's taken a decision, and he's clearly not second guessing it, but he feels the weight of what he's done.
I feel like the fireflies are so incompetent that didn’t try Ellie blood sample at all and a huge road block is how they are going to make more and how are they going to ship it where what state or country
She would probably die for nothing, in my opinion Joel did the right thing
"everyone i have ever cared about has either died or left me. Everyone - fucking except for you! So don't tell me i'd be safer with someone else because the truth is, i would just be more scared."

Seeing the part where joel was running away with ellie in his arms makes me want to cry so bad...
22:43 That “Joel…” will always get me. So much pain in one word
Looking at this now..I just wanna cry..rip Joel and ellie
Ellie may have lived, but her heart and soul didn't.
if joel were to let the fireflies take ellie and find a cure, he wouldnt be able to live with himself,Ellie gave him a reason to keep on living, shes the daughter he got to save, and everybody deserves a second chance. Joel went from Father,to Scavenger survivor and with ellie he got a a piece of him that died with Sarah back. I dont think we will see writing this poetic and perfect in a video game for years to come
A character that I don't see so much people talking about is MArlene. What impresses me so much about Marlene is that she knew Ellie's mother, Anna, and took care of her much longer than Joel, but she didn't mind leaving her with smugglers, and she was willing to sacrifice her life even when they weren't sure the cure would work. Apparently, all "For the good of humanity", but much more for everything she went through and all her bad experiences. In conclusion, a great character, with a lot of personality and humanity.
I don’t think Joel and Ellie ever would have drifted apart if he had just told a better lie. He could’ve said that a whole pack of older infected stormed the hospital and overwhelmed the Fireflies, killing the doctors that were going to make a vaccine. Joel had to hurry into the room to get Ellie and escape before it was too late.
That would explain the tape that Ellie finds there in TLOU2 that says the only doctors who could make a vaccine are dead. Then maybe she never would have forced Joel to tell her the truth, and she never would have pushed him away!
Then, if he had still died because of Abby, at least he would have still been as close to Ellie as ever.
I cant wait to see their dynamic in part 2
@Brendan Des I would agree with that as well. But reading up on all the theories, it looks like Ellie has resentment towards Joel for what he did in the past. But I think this time Joel wont survive the journey. Even though hes only 50 in the game.
I hope Ellie doesn't turn into edgy Aj from twd
yeah ND fucking destroyed me
This didn't age well
Ohh HELL no...
I love how as Joel softens up to Ellie he sort of forgets the kinda stuff she’s been exposed to (murder, infection, etc) when she breaks out the porno mag lol “Ellie that ain’t for kids”
Were all here for the same reason.....
Because Jeffery Epstein didn't kill himself.
This game is so much better than the second that its laughable.
I know right? I can't believe we waited so many years just for a piece of sh!t lol! I remember being so hyped when the first trailer was released and we all thought it was gonna be amazing.
Blame Neil Druckmann for thinking it’s a good idea to fire your head writer for TLOU1
Apart from the end I thought it was fine. Try to change my mind though
Just Call Me Brad Druckmann needed strayley to balance him out. Strayley’s absence is desperately missed in TLOU2
Agreed, i feel like the second one completely threw out everything that made the first game so good
Who’s here after completing that sequel that never happened?

ashley and troy are so incredibly talented
Last of us 1 was one story.joel and eille moved back, eillie found the truth but forgave him later and lived in jackson. They all lived happily ever after. Part 2 was just bad fanfiction
@The Bounty Hunters same
Hahahaha
Honestly personally I think she knows he's lying. She's always been able to call him out on his bullshit before.
I think she is choosing to let him protect her and to just... be okay with things being that way. Maybe they struggle a bit - I like to think she punches him at least once - but I don't think Ellie has ever had someone choose her.
She's just a kid. No one ever should have asked her to die for the world - not that they asked.
4:45 and the scene around it is such a relatable moment. It reminds me of when I was a kid and my own dad giving me instructions on how to do something serious or crucial and the nerve-wracking attention I'd feel because I wanted to get it right. Granted, it was never something on the level of a gun (lmfao), but my dad carefully teaching me something new will always be a memory I cherish. I love scenes like this between Ellie and Joel.
Still pretending tlou2 doesn't exist tho
Coming here asfter last of us 2 dropped, cant say im happy
This man survived several gunshots, close call zombie encounters, and being fuckin impaled
And yet he dies from a buff girl with a golf club.
Man, I love the car scene. 8 years later and it's still one of my favorite videogame scenes of all time
The line that made me laugh the most was "Why are all the pages stuck together."
"I'm just fucking with you!" 😅😅😅
8:01 gives me spiderman to tony stark vibes in the final battle of endgame even though the last of us came out first
Joel is a terrible person but I can’t blame him because after his daughter died I assume he told himself that he would never be attached to someone like he was attached to his daughter and he made an exception one time and he knew that their relationship would end the same way and he would probably blame himself for Ellie’s death if he didn’t do something so he let his emotions take control and he felt like it was his responsibility to keep Ellie safe and letting the surgery happen would be him not even trying to keep her safe.
Still bringin me tears..
