@@KG-ii2yx MMA fans jump ship after every fight card. There are very few true loyal fans to a certain fighter. Being said, that's sort of innate to a sport like MMA... you could argue that's how it should be.
If you're a purist, you're a fan of who's winning; a fan of whatever fighting style is currently triumphing over the others. I'm a fan of offensive wrestlers with good cardio and striking, because it wins. See Khamzat, Dvashvili, Gillespie, Colby, etc. I don't *root* for them to win, I just enjoy their fights more.
Loyalty to just one particular fighter, win or lose, only makes sense if they're from your city, a family member, or stand for something you strongly agree with. Even then, this doesn't mean you should argue that they deserve a higher ranking.

Dana is such a gaslighter "we tried to make the fight (Ngannou vs Jones) but they didn't want it". Blatantly untrue. Ngannou did want the fight, the dispute was over money and more control over his career. Dana is a sore loser.
Francis on his own channel said Dana offered him 8 million to fight Jones and he turned it down. Fastforward to the Fury fight, and they paid Francis 8 million BUT thats the purse without the PPV points but in UFC, the champs get PPV points as well. According to Francis the dispute was over wanting to increase pay for other fighters give them healthcare plans and yes over taking fights outside the UFC. The early UFC was like this, there were fighters taking fights in other organizations. The UFC is designed like this and fighters know this before signing to it so Dana is not a sore loser. The low pay in UFC is designed to not let the sport become what boxing has become, fighters getting lazy and wanting to fight once a year once they are champion, increase the activeness of fighters, etc all of which Dana has explained in the past why the UFC was intended to overcome all the dislikes of what boxing had become.
@@mystermont2019 I forgot about the healthcare issue Ngannou was also fighting for thanks for the reminder.
Ngannou, in my opinion, has exposed Dana and the UFC quite a bit by rejecting their offers, pursuing his career on his own terms, and being extremely successful in doing so. Ngannou achieving independent success irks Dana, who let's be honest, has a pretty combative and domineering personal style, and massive ego to boot.
Did you hear about the class action lawsuit that the UFC is facing in 2024?
"Unlike the vast majority of sports leagues and organizations, where athletes receive anywhere between 47% and 50% of revenue, the UFC has historically paid out between 16% and 19% of its revenues to fighters"
...the lawsuit is scheduled to start in April 2024.
The plaintiffs, who could include more than 1,200 fighters who competed in the UFC from 2010 to 2017, are seeking between $800m and $1.6bn in damages
@@triyuga The UFCs revenue goes to paying its doctors, the staff and reinvestment for expansion of the company, the cinematic quality of the countdowns, the mini docu style following the fighters fight camp a week before the fight, the UFC takes care of its fighters in other ways the audience doesn't see. Mark Hunt has already tried to sue Dana for low pay and didn't win. Non title fights are only 15 min. The UFC is not meant to be a full time job especially if you are lower in the rankings. MMA is a much younger sport than the long established sports where athletes can get paid millions and even then those sports the players have to put in a lot more hours and stay far more active. If you're not at the top of the sport you don't get the high pay. The reason there are performances bonuses is to encourage more exciting fights instead of those boring fights where someone just gets a takedown and lays on their opponent almost the entire fight. The UFC knows what its doing and as the company has grown over the years, so has the payment for fighters. Francis delayed his rematch with Derrick Lewis twice which is why they made the interim fight with Cyril Gane. Dana is not domineering and has an ego problem he's created jobs and opportunities that never existed in the past. Also even if he was partially, that's the personality it takes to create a successful company. Everyone trying to complain about Dana don't understand how much of the money goes back into the company which is how they are able to pay for the TUF series and now the Contender's series which were never around before. Athletes in other sports have to play their sport for longer amount of time in a match, more training, more matches in a year plus the sport has been around much longer. Everyone who is defending Francis never mentions how he never paid his first coaches in France who took him off the street when he was homeless, never paid his gym fees once he finally got paid even though they weren't much in the first place. Francis isn't perfect either and it would be more accurate to also say Francis has an ego problem.
He didn’t wanna fight Jon jones. Period
In the latest Joe Rogan Francis Ngannou Podcast he told detailed versions why he had problems with contract that they were pushing on him and how the UFC abused to make extensions. When Francis contract expired after 5 years Dana came out with statement that he Francis doesn’t wanna take risks and he thinks he has Connor McGregor boxing in his hands . Talking about person who faced death and challenges beyond our imaginations on his way to Europe it’s RIDICULOUS to say he doesn’t like take risks . He wanted to fight in the UFC but he always wanted to be boxer and even 3 years ago there were talks that Francis might box. The promotion clearly doesn’t like share the bag or the fame with anyone. They are greedy . They don’t let fighters have sponsors which used to be big thing in the cage ! Demetri Johnson , Fedor Emelianenko One of the greatest MMA athletes basically left out of the promotion because of greed and one sided contracts. It’s time that UFC have some competition in the market so fighters have more options.
Dude was pissed when that reporter asked about teaming with the PFL, lmao. Never ask a monopoly to share the spotlight with a competitor.

Before all these salty folks get in here about Goddard, remember: Pereira KO'd Jiri TWICE - once with the left, once with the elbows, and was about to get absolutely flatlined via ground and pound if Goddard didn't push Pereira off. Either way Jiri was done, and admitted he was KO'd.
Huge fan of Jiri and hes and absolute chad, but he was done.
Wrong. Alex has never demonstrated good ground and pound and jiri has demonstrated an amazing ability to get out of bad situations. It was an awful stoppage. Just let it go another couple seconds. Goddard didn't stop the fight after a strike landed. He stopped the fight after Alex fell on top of him lol.
Fax
@@brendondowdy5651😂😂😂
@@brendondowdy5651 Fair points. Jiri did say himself he was out. You can see as he drops down and goes for the double leg his hands are reacting and grabbing. After a few elbows land, you see both his arms go limp, his hands let go, and he falls back with Alex on top of him. Could Jiri have bounced back? Perhaps. I agree Alex hasn’t shown effective ground and pound, but as far as a bad stoppage goes, this was lower end of the spectrum if at all. Alex had dropped him, rocked him and Jiri has eaten a dozen unanswered shots. It was a fair stoppage.
@stewart4180 what jiri says has literally 0 impact on what happened though. He never was unconscious and that's not debatable but my biggest issue with it was that the fight wasn't stopped from the strikes it was stopped after they fell on the ground. Like either the fight should've been stopped 5 seconds earlier when Alex hit him with the elbow or just let it continue to go on because I think there's a good chance Alex would've just ended up forcing a stand up and from there anything can happen. I would say like 95% chance Alex would finish him on the ground but that's not 100 and we should strive for 100%.
Having been a big fan of his since early in his kickboxing career, I could not be happier for Alex Pereira, after a Hall of Fame career in Glory(the premier kickboxing organization in the world) where he was the only simultaneous two weight champ they ever had, now becoming a two weight champ in the UFC the clear number one MMA company in the world. Alex is now one of the greatest and most accomplished combat sports athletes/fighters of all time and did it in so few fights. That he was the winner in the main event of the second biggest drawing card in MSG history is awesome too. He’s a big star now and will become an even bigger one after this amazing accomplishment. It’s not gonna be easy but i hope he is able to have a long legendary championship reign at 205. Lots of damned good fighters in top ten so he has his work cut out for him but whatever happens from here his legacy is one for the history books.

You can't compare what Aspinall did, to what Volk and Usman did. Aspinall's opponent also took the fight on short notice, so both of them haven't done a camp and have to cut no weight at all. Volk and Usman couldn't do any camp and had huge weight cuts, against opponents who have done a full camp and who had all the time to cut the weight properly. Volk and Usman were in way more disadvantage than Aspinall and that says a lot about the outcomes.
