- Following dozens of arrests at the end of a pro-Palestinian demonstration on campus, USC announced it will no longer hold its main commencement ceremony. Tracey Leong reports for the NBC4 News on April 25, 2024,

Big bummer yes, but it’s a graduation. These students are protesting an active genocide occurring. What’s more important- a ceremony or people’s lives? 35,000 people now murdered in Gaza. I say- amazing job students!!

Peaceful assembly yes, but protests require a permit and an agreement to not be violent and disrupt campus activities. It is private property and the campus didn't give you permission to protest there .
