      @@deepcosmiclove bunch of guys beat their wives in early 20th C baseball, before integration and after everyone was a vitriolic racist, there was a cocaine epidemic during the 70s and 80s, partying and womanizing was huge throughout the 90s and 00s--nowadays when clubhouses don't have an actual manager but a locker room coach masquerading as one, it's more likely they aren't doing that crap at a large scale. present isn't perfect but it's a complete fantasy to think the past was.

      Bc we all know ManRam and Teddy Ballgame both hit balls way further. The Reds one and Indians is a joke when you know Donkey and Country Strength both launched balls way further. I know these are statcast but most aren't impressive.

    No way Stantons #2 at Coors was over 450, let alone 500. Halfway up the seats in the first deck, right behind a wall that's marked at 370 feet.
    Statcast is lying or Coors Field has their dimensions wrong. Take your pick.

    I love how number one is by a random player who only had a career total 85 home runs in 684 games. As a Rangers fan, the career of Nomar Mazara is disappointing. The dude was AL Rookie of the Month for both April and May in 2016... and then he just sort of dropped off. He was never a terrible player, but he was never able to capitalize on his early success and take the next step.

    What a shame, as a Reds fan, that it's limited to 2016. Adam Dunn's 500+ foot shot that likely rolled into the river is missing, Juan Francisco's 502 footer that cleared the moon deck is missing. Oh well.

      I’m a lifelong Rangers fan and have seen many homers in that park. Never seen one close to that high up in the upper porch in right (where it first hit, bout halfway up). And it was on a line. Those numbers are calculated on where it would land unobstructed. Absolutely a 500 ft homer.

      Because pitches don’t break as much due to air pressure + the Rockies have been bad for a long time. [the humidor means no more 90s video game numbers]

      They don't call it the mile-high city for nothing. Air pressure is almost 20% lower there than at sea level. Same reason you see a couple in Arizona. Phoenix is at 1000ft elevation, which doesn't sound like much compared to 5000ft but it's still a lot higher than anywhere else.
