Fascinating . Listening to this for 40 years and until 5 minutes ago , I thought the final section was played on the bass octave of a piano! Thank you so much for your revelatory work and great channel, love from Ireland.

@@paulogtr1 Good luck with your channel. You play Steve's music with his operating sense of beauty and his , can I say ...chiaroscuro ? Every old Genesis fan knows that it was Italian audiences who gave Genesis essential encouragement in the early days. Slainte'

I'm praying for one for the vine, it's a masterpiece, the story, the Phil's voice and the instrumentation. I love it

Very cool breakdown of the song. This track has always made me feel uncomfortable somehow, it's certainly a standout in the album. Great use of those rare min/maj chords. It also has a dark-side-of-the-moon("On the Run") feel with the use of those synths so he certainly must have been influenced by PF. He later went and did his own version of "Time" with the "Clocks" track on "Spectral Mornings".
Thanks a lot for sharing this material which is also well translated in your score book of Steve's album.

There's a video on You Tube where Steve Hackett talks about Brand X and Percy Jones. He describes "Tower" as a cross between Led Zeppelin and King crimson...

It is true, my friend. I remember when I was young, I always listened to music using a sound system with powerful bass. 😁
