Cool! I was looking for a non-colored compressor to put before a tube-compressor. I found that with software, 2 compressors side-by-side works great. So I thought about using 2 hardware compressors, as well.
Really like the idea of this compressor now after your review. Respect....I currently have a 1176, 2A & 3a. Wondering if this might have a place or would I just be duplicating what already have?
@@leroygibbsii2559 I've got my eye on that Golden age 3a. I've spoken to dizengoff audio about modding it for me. Really the only reason I haven't picked one up is because I don't have space in the studio for it. 500 series would work better.
Very different compressors. The 1176 is a FET compressor, fast, aggressive, and adds character, this is a clean VCA compressor that will react slower than a 1176
I've reviewed the XLA, between the two of choose the TK. It's more versatile having more options for attack and release. And it's cleaner. If I I was going for color than XLA but most times I'm tracking vocals I'm wanting to keep it clean.

This has been working for me but I'm wanting a 3a compressor now. I want something a little slower for singing vocals.
@Czar I have the Golden Age 3a it's🔥🔥🔥. Sounds like the TK would fall in between the 76 and opto's. I might still check it out to have the option.

What would be your preference for vocal tracking, the T-Komp or something like the Acme XLA500?
