I think Indonesia after Malaysia would be a better experience, similarity of languages and cultures but completely different landscapes. In fact you could enter Kalimantan from Sabah Sarawak itself. Start with Kalimantan, then Sulawesi, Moluccas, Bali, Java and finish at Sumatra Aceh.
After you finish at the western tip of Indonesia, India in the winter (November to February) is best. Start in the south and make it up North via either the western or eastern coast up to the Himalayas.
Once you finish the Indian Himalayas a detour through Nepal and Bhutan can be easily done.

Amazing tour around that Filipino Market, a massive one indeed. Yummy pineapple and pancakes ( we called them "apam balik" ). Those big prawns are known as mantis prawns...delicious but quite expensive.
Too bad that you can't capture a stunning sunset that evening. At least, you can still stroll along the beach, quite a cool crowd there.

its different but gotta be careful too. those sulu kingdom pirates are still bothering the countries with the claims. they even tried petitioning in spain and in paris. trying on world courts to decide their absurd claims. not a good idea to go to these places now. places like sulawesi, komodo, kalimantan, lahad datu are all a very dangerous hotspots. esp if u r a white foreiegner, they will target you. they believe they can get a very high ransom if the get one. it is dangerous.

hi ken, if youre going to be in sabah for the next few weeks. heres some really awesome place to go.hanging bridge of borneo, check out kundansang area there is the dairy farm, there is tagal fish spa, and , u can see mount kinabalu also a world war memorial as well. its all quite nearby. x forget poring hot springs as well. . on kota kinabalu x miss the island hopping. go to manukan islands, gaya, sipadan -best diving scuba spot destination in the world, the coral reefs there will leave you speechless. head up north to kudat. you can see the tip of borneo, the amazing tindakon dazang beach and amazing fish markets there. these are tips if u wish to enjoy sabah to the max. if u do have the time i also recommend the sepilok orangutan sanctuary. but thats quite far off from kk. u need to take a flight to sandakan i guess.

The plane is loud because of the auxilary engine, at the back of the plane, to power the plane electrics and air-con especially. . On jets, the engine is higher off the ground and being bigger, the sound insulation is better. The pancake (Apam) has ground peanut & sugar filling. Sometimes they added sweet corn buts, red bean or even cheese.
Jetlag warriors visited the Filipino market also and bought pearls. You only visited KK. Jetlag went to the North & East of Sabah. They experienced much more with Sabah Tourism taking them around. Hope you will visit the rest of Sabah another time. Sipidan has best dive site in the world. Orang Utan sanctuary, Probosis Monkey viewing on river tours - check vblogers "Other Side" when they visited 3 years ago.

Hi Ken! We'll miss having you in Malaysia. Thank you very much for spending the time and resources in Malaysia. As for the choice between Indonesia and Philippines for your next destination, I would suggest Philippines so that you will experience a more varied perspective of S. E. Asia, and then go to Indonesia. Indonesia is a little bit too similar to Malaysia (although not quite similar) for an immediate next destination. Then again, having visited both countries before, between Indonesia and Philippines, I prefer Indonesia. The food is more platable to my taste. Both countries have beautiful landscapes and islands though, and the magnificent volcanoes...
Looking forward to seeing your next adventures! Selamat Jalan!

The fighter jet that you see in the airport at the beginning of the video is su-30 I guess...
Stay safe Ken cause if the su-30s are dispatched to sabah that means shit is serious considering the recent events 😁✌

I laughed at how the motorcyclist greeted you as he drove past you. That's the thing here in Sabah, we call everyone boss. Everybody is a boss here😂 Also, if ypu noticed how they place 1 hand to their heart whenever it comes to greeting, it means like we put you into our heart, a warm gesture. Next time you're here, just hit me up. Would be glad to give you untouristy lifts & visits🤗

Philippines also good when I go there but Indonesia is something else..trust me..🤞🏼☺️

Pity you couldn't have stayed longer in and around Kuching and in the Sarawak state in general seeing it is the largest state by far. I think you missed the many great National parks. It is understandable that you can not visit everywhere. Hopefully you can return soon. I think you will enjoy Sabah more than Labuan. Phillipines actually lay claim to the state of Sabah I believe, so maybe visit there next to get their views on it.. The peanut pancakes are Apam Balik I believe. Very delicious also can have with Milo etc. Sabah is a popular state for snorkling in the ocean specially around the many islands.

welcome to the land below the wind... you can make lots of contents here in sabah... trust me... please visit ranau and other regions also... sabah has a lot of tourist places, including world class ones. tourism is one of sabah's largest economic resources. but you can also avoiding it by travelling solo with some reliable sources or asking local friend.

    Hi Ken
The lout noise you hear is the APU Unit running in the rear of the plane supplying the plane with electric power for air conditioning and power to the flight systems

  • @ninjaturtle6106
    @ninjaturtle6106 Před 2 lety

Small planes seems loud probably bcos you are coming in from the ground. With big planes, you go in thru the aerobridge therefore you don't hear the engine much.

Servus Ken if you go Philippines , if do not need to go please do not go to Manila is kind of dangerous there and no much good things to do ,... but we recommend : Bohol, Cebu, Bacolod and SIQUIJOR So sure !!! Stay safe and positive and enjoy your trip .
