already 8 years ago, austria had a very interesting song in the preliminary countrywide audition, that sadly did not make it: "zoe: quel filou". give it a try, it's catchy.
and yes, she is from austria but sang french.
since many countries have prelimiaries like that, for each song that makes it to the eurovision songcontest, there are probably 10 or more that did not make it. sometimes by voting stupidity, or because you have to pay 50 cent for a vote, but can vote as many times as your purse allows.
