For darker hair colors (to fix your purple issue), you can select "Greying" (3rd hair color option) select black, and move the slider for intensity.

HOW DID SHE FINISH CUSTOMIZING A CHARACTER UNDER 2 HOURS. IMPOSSIBLE
Honestly, it's just because of the limited face options. If they had given me like sliders or just multiple facial feature options, I would've been gone for hours!
I was finished in under an hour, also because of the lack of faces! That and the fact I already knew I was playing a warlock and I knew what stats he should have since I am a silly little goose who only ever plays one sort of D&D character, lol
Not a whole lot to customize.
I can't play the game right now due to finals, so studying with this asmr video of BG3 is the perfect consolation to help me cope with my study.
Can't wait to be done and submerge myself for the rest of the summer with this quality Larian's title.

Love that your playing bg3 it's soo good. If its your first crpg don't be deterred if you struggle in the beginning once you get a hang of the basics its an adventure from there. If you've played tabletop rpgs it's fairly easy to grasp

I've found that you can get a more natural colored hair if you use a natural base color and then add highlights of the color you want (black base with purple highlight in this case).

To get natural purple look to the hair you do a dark blue/black with purple highlights and darker purple greying. Yw

Baldur's Gate 3 seems a lot of fun but also it confuses the heck out of me so i cant decide if i wanna buy it or not but hey at least i can see a bit of the game and relax at the same time
This is my first RPG of the kind and I struggled with the same thing, but it’s actually pretty intuitive once you get through the tutorial! And don’t worry too much about making a “perfect” character your first time, part of the fun is rolling poorly. :) Can’t recommend enough, I’m addicted to this game.

Did they forget to put in an option for all hair colours? Seems odd you have more choices for highlight colour than base colour.

I want to get this when it comes out on PS5, but I'm also intimidated. People are saying if you're unfamiliar with DnD the game will be very difficult.
Anyone able to comment on that?
i played the beta and i would disagree with them- the only thing very dnd about it is that you have to roll skill checks for certain things. otherwise if you’ve played any turn based games before i think you should be okay!!
To a point it can seem difficult, but if you put the game on Explorer mode (easy, more or less) and stick to your class' primary stat (will have a silver star to show you) and probably Constitution, you'll be fine.
If you want a character that can handle most social checks, like Deception/Persuasion/Intimidation/etc then I recommend making a Bard (primary stat is Charisma and they can get proficiency in those for better rolls and Jack of All Trades is a wonderful trait that you get early on)
A Warlock (primary stat is also Charisma) is also a fairly solid choice for a beginner as, while you most likely won't have all the insane proficiency bonuses that Bard does, offensively you'll be fairly strong and can branch out with your choices of spell. Eldrich Blast is an amazing cantrip (basically a spell that you can use every turn without spending a spell slot/cast, which are a limited resource) once you boost it a few levels in.
I recommend Charisma classes primarily because if combat does intimidate you, or you're bad at it like me, you can talk and lie your way out of most combat situations. Should you get into a fight the two above classes are extremely solid to play with Bard being able to strengthen your party while Warlock can be made a support, dps, or Eldrich Blast spammer.
My biggest tip in combat is to always be watching out for high ledges, bottomless pits, and chasm in the battle area. These are a two way death trap in that enemies you push into them instantly die...but the enemy is also smart enough to know the same applies to you...and is seemingly significantly better at shoving than me. I'm embarrassed at the amount of times I thought I had some random enemy beaten, just to have my character get pushed into a chasm or off a high ledge and meet their end instead.

This is my first time playing this kind of RPG, I am a fan of the casual rpg action adventure games, couldn't get on with Divinity personally. But I know 5e DnD pretty well, suffice to say my knowledge certainly made this game much less intimidating for me and I'm loving it. If you are patient and have the capacity to learn, I think you could also really enjoy it. Play it on easy at first though, you can change it later. It's not difficult to wander into an encounter you are under levelled for and the game will punish you for it. I'd also recommend you don't multiclass early on either. Keep your character straightforward and use your party to cover your weaknesses. Hope you enjoy playing!
