I replaced mine just as you did and it actually made the ticking worse. Also now feels like a loss in power also falls kn its face sometimes and stalls at low rpm
hmm, not sure, but it is a hydraulic unit, so even if you put it in loose it should immediately tighten up when you start the bike. Either you have a problem with the tensioner or it could be in the chain or sprokets or even the valves. Are you valves adjusted properly?
Did it effect your riding or did it just make noise when you noticed it failed. I have a 2016 husky 350 fc and I am noticing the rattle noise, but also feels like something is loose upon accelerating in any gear.
Hi, no failure! I had removed it when I did my valve adjustment and simply did a separate video on removing adjusting and reinstall. If you hear rattling, it is likely either the valve tensioner or your valves. Pop it out and inspect it. Lots of guys go for manual adjusters, but if it is working keep it in there. You can also take off the cam cover and inspect the tightness of the tensioner (before you loosen it and also do a valve measuring to see if they are loose. Let me know what you find!
I have the same bike same year and every and I'm having the same problem it does it whenever it's a idle whenever I start it and then goes away but then if I shut off and start it does it again I don't know if I should be worried or not bc it stops whenever I'm riding
no, not at all. The tensioner only puts pressure on the chain. If you are adjusting the valves, then yes definitely put it on top dead center using the marks on the valve chain sprockets then remove the tensioner. then use the screw at the bottom of the case to lock it in place. (only on the 250s and 350s). To only check the valves just use the timing marks on the timing chain sprockets.

I removed my tensioner to check if it was the source of my rattling sound, and it was the problem. After that I pushed the bike in neutral (without any tensioner installed) in my garage about 5 meters and in my mind it shouldn't be a problem but a mechanic friend insisted about a possible issue which is timing chain missing a teeth, which would be bad. Based on your experince do you think I should be worried? Thanks in advance for your answer and have a good day!
@@egezengin1586 hey, yea, that is important! If you have any suspicions cam chain or sprocket problems, pull the valve cover and inspect everything. I can not imagine the chain or sprockets loosing teeth unless you had a piece of metal go through it or you have 50000 miles on the bike. See my valve adjustment video or getting to the top end. It is pretty easy.
@@MotoWorld777 Turns out the only problem was the tensioner itself, after moving the bike and reinstalling the new tensioner, the bike just ran perfectly. And by "missing teeth" I meant as in jumping or skipping if that makes sense. Thanks again for the video it was a great help!
this? For locating noises, you can put a long screwdriver with the metal end against the tensioner or any other place and the handle end against your ear, where ever it is the loudest, there is your noise and possible problem.
